Everything I Expected
We stayed one night in the hotel and had a favorable experience. The location was walking distance to Stephansplatz, with Christmas markets in between. A metro stop is virtually right outside the front door. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was nice and extremely clean. The included breakfast had a large variety of foods available, and the staff was attentive to our need for coffee!

さすが、ウィーンの五つ星HOTELです。 ロケーションは、トリム/地下鉄のえきから、徒歩２分の便利さ。どこでもすぐに行けます。 HOTELは、とても清潔で、設備も良く、従業員の皆さんもとてもフレンドリーです。 朝食は、今回別料金でしたが、おかねを払ってもいただく価値のある、とてもおいしい詔勅です。 ぜひ、お勧めいたします。

Very good location, close to S
Very good location, close to Schottentor station - only a few yards walk. Central to all tourist attractions. A most pleasant stay. The hotel has undergone extensive refurbishment. Decor is traditional - lots of marble everywhere! Our room was a good size, clean, with a reception area and the bathroom had everything required (including a bath and two basins). Minibar was free - beers as well as soft drink and water. Wireless internet included in rate. Staff informative and friendly. Breakfast buffet extensive - hot and cold dishes. There are also a couple of restaurants. No view (courtyard) was dealt with etched glass and drapes. Overall, very good value considering the location.

An up-market hotel on the edge
An up-market hotel on the edge of Vienna's old town. Standard rooms, billed as "superior" are smallish with windows that open inwards to the service area, but the amenities - the confortable beds, bed-linen, bathroom fittings etc - are top rate. Plus, a free mini-bar s with mineral water, soft drinks and a couple of beers per day. Front desk service is sparkling - I had restaurants recommended and booked, change for cabs provided when I'd run out of cash at the front door, airport transfers organised, all like clockwork. The rack rates are a bit high, but having booked it because is was a Hotel Club special deal, it turned out good value. Also, on a return visit, was upgraded to a suite for no extra cost as the hotel was full, and got to the live the rock star life for one night at least. The nice thing was, the guy at the front desk didn't act condescending about it, he seemed as pleased as I was. A very nice place to stay, especially if you can get a discount on their regular rates.

Snazzy comfort at Hotel de France
The hotel has an interior that is very modern in ambience with a French flair. It is very clean and bright. Efficient transportation to airport is provided for 44 euros each way. Breakfast is available for 26 euros per person (too expensive for our small appetites). Children eat free. Small meals are provided in the lounge in the evening for a fair price -- good for families who are tired after a day of sightseeing. All types of public transportation are provided outside the front door. Rooms are very clean. However, the hotel will not provide a portabe bed if one is needed, and each room seems to provide just one large bed (i.e. two twin beds pushed together). If that is not enough, they make you acquire another room. Assistance is provided in arranging special tours. Unlike American hotels, there are no microwaves or refrigerators in the rooms. Did not see a thermostat, but rooms were at comfortable temperature. Decorative stair steps are to be found in unexpected places, so care needs to be taken by children and elderly to avoid tripping and falling. We found the neighborhood and the entire historic district to be safe for exploring well into night time hours.

An excellent place to stay in Vienna
Overall this was an excellent hotel, very well run and excellent, friendly staff. Spend the extra cash for the 2-story suites. They're worth it. Well located near main tourist areas in a nice section of town.
