Not the newest rooms, but some
Not the newest rooms, but some have a great view over Sydney Harbour, the bridge and the opera house. There's a small kitchen, so you can cook yourself - grocery stores and take aways are just around the corner. The staff washes the dishes. We liked it very much, it's not in the center though it's only a 15 minutes walk to the heart of the city. We would take it again. If you stay longer, tray to bargain about the rates directly at the hotel.

Excellent value and courteous, helpful staff

Parking is not very good, very
Parking is not very good, very small space and risky, we stay 3 night in 7 floor with very good view we see Sydney Bridge and opera house. Receptionist and the manager there they are very friendly and helpful. will stay at Macleay again when ever we are in Sydney.

Nice place to stay for a family. Good pantry facility. Was upgraded to a room with an ocean view.

If you are after modern up to
If you are after modern up to date accommodation this may not be the place for you. But if you are after a good comfortable apartment with cooking facilities this would be highly recommended. Paying for a room with a view of the harbour bridge and the opera house is well worthwhile.

Sydney is Expensive!
The hotel is in a great neighborhood (Potts Point) right across from a market (Woolworths). Always lots of people out on the street so the location has a very safe feel to it. Once you figure out the bus system, it is fairly easy to get around to where you want to go (CBD, Circular Quay (pronounced "key"), etc. There are lots of eating places nearby, but they seemed pricey to me - although I'm realizing the cost of meals in Australia is a lot more than what I'm used to. As for the room, it was not in the best condition (mold in bathroom, peeling paint, etc.). As we didn't expect a 5-star hotel we didn't let this bother us. The staff was beyond helpful, any question put to them they did their best to help us.

Having stayed in many hotels throughout
Having stayed in many hotels throughout the world we loved staying here and the staff were exceptionally helpful. As this was our first visit to Sydney they advised us on the best routes etc and nothing was too much bother. The location was great also with a short walk through the Botanical Gardens to the Opera House and coming back from the Opera House at night after the show a taxi cost $10.

Staff at the hotel Macleay were
Staff at the hotel Macleay were very welcoming and friendly. I stayed for three nights, and the room was comfortable and clean. Not a large size room but everything that you need for a couple of nights, including views of the bridge and opera house (from my 8th floor room). I would go back again if doing business close to that area of Sydney. Thanks for having me and making my stay comfortable. Kind regards
