Sheraton Dusseldorf Airport Hotel

wir haben im restaurant zu abend gegessen. die speisen waren sehr gut, service eine katastrophe. suppe vor aperitiv, rechnungsrückgeld falsch gezühlt, falscher wein, weisswein gar nicht gebracht. das mädchen anne-sophie hatte ihren ersten tag - die anwesenden kollegen haben sie einfach alleine gelassen, von einem chef de service weit und breit keine spur. beim frühstück am nächsten tag wurden wir nicht an einen tisch begleitet, das einzige was die rumstehenden herren wissen wollten - auf welche zimmernummer buchen bitte? eigentlich erwarten wir uns da mehr.......

The location is the only redeeming quality. The rooms are cold and is laid out like a bad dorm room. After staying at the Maritim, one wonders why you would choose this hotel (except for price). By the way, 45 Euros for three 5 minute calls is criminal. Never again.

The rooms we very nice and clean! The staff friendly. However the cost for parking I thought was high. No wireless Internet, and their was a cost to use the hotels Internet. We tried eating at the hotel's restraurant "Otto". Waited about 10 minutes for a hostess... Once seated waited another 10 minutes till we saw a waiter who gave us menus and left... We waited another 10 minutes and decided to leave!

Airport Sheraton has an excellent location, great for a stay after a long flight or the night before a flight. Lot's of shopping available at the airport as well as some very good bars and restaurants. The Sheraton bar and restaurant Otto are a bit pricey but outstanding. Great food and a great wine list. Actually worth the price considering the location. The rooms are clean and very nice. Free internet in the lobby. We will definitely stay there again.

The location was fabulous, we collected our luggage at the airport, walked across the street and checked in! Check-in was friendly and immediate. The room was perfect, except for the fact that we are very uncomfortable sleeping with duvets as covers, too hot, but that is personal preference, the rest of the world seems to like duvets. Our TV did not work and was replaced immediately with many apologies. The restaurant attached was very good, and moderately expensive. Good service. The room was furnished well with a coffee and tea set-up. The bathroom had all the usual lotions, shampoos, etc. Check out was fast and courteous. I would use the Sheraton Dusseldorf Airport again.

From the Arrivals hall at Dusseldorf Airport to the reception at the Hotel is less than 5 minutes walk. It is the second time I have used this Hotel, and I will use it again whenever I visit Dusseldorf. It has a direct rail link into Dusseldorf and from the main airport Railway Station 2 minutes from the airport on the 'Skytrain' into the main German railnetwork. The rooms are clean and tidy, and the staff speak good English. The breakfast is a selection of hot or cold, and a good choice.

Excellent location for airport users, just a short covered walk from the terminal through the car park, although the route is not too clearly marked in the terminal. I made one booking direct with the hotel in early January and secured a disabled no smoking room, but on my second visit later in the month they only offered smoking, so I booked via [website] and got a no smoking room. Comfortable rooms although the electric heating is behind the drawn curtains so it feels cool inside the room. No noticeable aircraft noise. Free internet use in the lobby via one of 4 fast PCs but the sign-on procedure is not explained properly, so ask. Also ask if you don't know how to use the German language keyboard (the @ symbol is tricky to find!). Restaurant is pricey but there are plenty of alternatives in the airport terminal.

My only complaint is the parking hassle. They really should have a contract with the parking garage so that hotel guests either pay a daily rate for parking or even get free parking. To pay large parking fees (hourly airport parking fees) each and every time you come & go from the hotel is ridiculous. I ended up returning my rental car early because parking fees were soaring. Very disappointing.

We flew in from Chicago. We had a long layover before we could catch our flight to Stockholm. We reserved the hotel to take a shower and a nap before proceeding. It was quiet, the beds were so soft that we melted in no time, and fell asleep.
