Excelsior Hotel Frankfurt

Etwas in die Jahre gekommenes Mittelklassehotel direkt gegenüber dem Frankfurter Hauptbahnhof mit allen entsprechenden Vorteilen (verkehrsgünstig) und Nachteilen (sehr laut - schlechte Isolierung der Fenster). Hervorzuheben sind Kaffee/Tee/Wasser/Kuchen in der Lobby (gratis), zusätzlich kostenfreier Konsum der Minibar.

Minibar frei ist positiv, ebenso die Nutzung des Internet. Bad ist klein aber ok. Lage direkt gegenüber dem Seitenausgang des Bahnhofs. Die Buchung von 2 Erwachsenen und 2 Kindern in einem 3er-Zimmer war nicht möglich, also wurde die Buchung mit einem Kind durchgeführt und das zweite Kind war mit dabei - ergab kein Problem.

Einzelzimmer gebucht und großes Zimmer mit Doppelbett + Etagenbett erhalten. Inklusivleistungen für 3 Sterne Standard überragend. Gutes Frühstück, free Internet, kostenlose Minibar...., Etwas laut aber dafür direkt am Bahnhof. Unpersönliches, gutes Massenhotel.

旅行で疲れているときにドリンクが飲み放題でとても助かりました。インターネットも無料。駅前の便利さに加え、このサービスの良さには感激です。さらに、受付に日本人スタッフがおられ、観光などの相談にのっていただいたのも、とてもよかったです。朝食も充実してますよ。

For my one-night stay by the railway station, Excelsior was ideal. Freebies for the guest were explained well by friendly reception staff on checkin and included bar fridge [mineral water, juice and beer], and a free drink at the bar in partner Hotel Metropole next door: very nice, thank you very much. Although a little worn, the hotel room was very clean and tidy, comfortable and well-maintained. I would recommend it as value for money and a very friendly stay.

Great location across the road from the main train station. Noisy at night if your room faces the station. Breakfast is included in the tariff and they have not skimped on the quality. I would stay here again

Excellent value and location. Free minibar and free internet were much appreciated, especially since most hotels charge a fortune for internet and minibar. My single room was small but recently refurbished and very quiet. New furniture, bedding and fittings in the room and bathroom. Location is exactly opposite the main train station. Very good buffet breakfast included in the very reasonable price.

I was very surprised for what I got for what I paid. Room is small (expected) but clean and neat. The bad: One star decrease was for shower/bathroom. It's really small and may get uncomfortable for bigger person. Sink was quite small as well and shelf above it was in a way. The only real issue was with water regulator in a shower. The hot water was scalding hot. And it was hard to adjust lever for proper temperature balance. And considering the shower size any move could knock it off delivering either steamy or freezing stream. The good: free mini bar, including decent beer and soft drinks. Breakfast was one of the best i had for free. Items including smoked salmon and variety of quality cheeses. I would probably estimate 20% or room rate just for breakfast. If you travel in couple that can save you on its own. Central location, across the street from the entrance to the central railway terminal. Easy access to everything. Oh, and bath robe and slippers were included (!). The ugly: I was harassed by two beggars within 100m between terminal and hotel. They were polite and non aggressive though. Still parted with 3 euros. One was good enough to speak English well and showed me the way around :) Highly recommended for budget traveler. I decide to stay there again on my next travel.

this hotel was the worse that I have ever been in. There was bugs flying around the room, birds that kept us wake all night. The beds were not on frames that mattress and box spring were on the floor. I have two hip replacements and a knee replacement so it was hard for me to get up and down from the bed. My daughter was afraid to see that something was going to crawl on her.

I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending the Excelsior (the location, the room, the breakfast, the service, and the WiFi which is exceptionally fast!).
