Premier Hotel Victoria Great Hotel!
The Hotel Victoria is the "perfect" location as it is very close to the train station. You just simply roll your luggage just across the street and in a few minutes you are there. The hotel is not the Ritz, or anything fancy however, it has a small hotel and a cozy feel with a very elegant breakfast room, and a fantastic breakfast bar. Our room was larger than the other rooms as we got a room with a balcony (there is only a few) just by asking. The room is simple but nice, spotless with hardwood floors and free WIFI. Their restaurant is limited as you can just order pizza or a sandwich but everything is within walking distance to the hotel with great restaurants and shops nearby. The service could not have been any better and we felt that the hotel was a good find. This was a business trip combined with pleasure and stayed @ Hotel Victoria for 9 days. We visited Heidelberg, Titisee, and since Freiburg is by the train station, it is a great base. There are plenty to do in Freiburg as it has abundance of restaurants, the black forrest, museums, great cathedrals, churches with incredible architecture, shopping, outdoor market with fresh fruits, fish, flowers, herbs, and anything you desire is all right there all within walking distance. Freiburg is a tourist town and a college town with many Europeon tourist but not like Heidleberg where you see many Americans. The hotel and the City itself is a jewel. Most of the people there speak English and Germans were all so nice to us!

Short walk from hotel
Visit the Cathedral (you will be able to find it as it's one of the tallest buildings), there is a museum directly across the street from Hotel Victoria, there is also an incline that will take you directly to a very nice restaurant on top of the mountain. If you are in good physical condition, you can climb the mountain and reach a tower where you can see 3 or 4 different Countries. The open air market is outside of the Cathederal on certain days of the week. Ask the hotel clerk and she will give you a map, along with any information you need. We visited some great restaurants. Here are a few of good restaurants we visited: Martin's Brau (German), La Piazza (very inexpensive), and the restaurant on top of the incline (a bit pricey).
