M.C. Escher floorplan, but cozy!
We stayed at the Holt since it wasn't too far from Oxford. The hotel itself was nice- better than we expected. It was clean, had ample parking and our package included breakfast which was a hot english breakfast buffet, with some continental breakfast options too. The common areas were very cozy. The hotel had more character than a chain hotel in the States. The layout was confusing, so if you need a place that is accessible, make that clear upon making your reservation else you will be navigating through a floorplan that looks like M.C. Escher drew it himself. We had a top level (attic?) room which was nice b/c we could open the windows at night. If you are concerned about safety, you may not want a ground level suite. Our stay was good overall.

Nice enough place. The room was comfortable enough. The corridoors are a bit of a rabbit warren. The restuarant was good with nice food and attentive staff.

It was like sleeping on concrete slabs
We travel around the UK quite a lot and this was the worst night's sleep we have ever had. First of all we did not have a double bed but two singles and it was like sleeping on concrete slabs, they were so uncomfortable. The room was supposed to be a Superior double and it was far from. The room itself was very small, the only good thing was the bathroom. I went to reception to ask about changing the single beds to a double but they said this was not possible. I asked whether the room was a Superior Room and was assured that all the rooms along that corridor were superior. The breakfast in the morning was superb and we have no complaints there. I think the management really need to upgrade their rooms with decent beds. We certainly would not stay here again/recommend anybody to stay here due to this factor.

At check in the directions to our room were not very clear, had an upstairs room which was very hot, but a fan was promptly supplied when requested.

イギリスらしい雰囲気が味わえ、かつ無線LANが使えるなど機能的で、とてもいいホテルでした。オックスフォード中心部からは13マイルほど離れており、車がないと不便です。車があれば、幹線道路の交差点にあるので、コッツウォルズやブレナム宮殿などに行くのにも便利な立地です。

the service we found to be good
the service we found to be good although we did find it lacked "personality". but we would go back again.

Very impressed, ideal location
Very impressed, ideal location for us, surprised more guests weren't there. Perhaps needs an ad campaign to make people more aware of it.
