- The Hotel Florida is located in one of the most famous shopping area of Rome, few steps from the Vatican and from Saint Angel Castle. The district area is called "Prati" famous for its 900 buildings in which you can have nice walks in the evening and taste a good Ice-cream in "Portofino" only 200 meters away from hotel. Close by you can find the famous Spanish Steps and the Via Condoti, the fashion street (Gucci, Prada, Valentino, Cartier, Fendi) and from there carry on until Fontana di Trevi. On the other side of the bridge you can reach Piazza Navona, Campo dei Fiori and visit the Pantheon.

Loved it!
My friend and I spent 3 nights here. The room was small, but we were only there to sleep. It was very clean and attractive. The bathroom was small, but all brand new. The shower may not be appropriate for a large person, but we liked it just fine. The bathroom had a hair dryer and a converted outlet, but could really use some towel bars and hooks. The air conditioning worked well. The room was very quiet. Everyone at the front desk was very helpful. Sometimes you had to spend a little more time with someone to bring them out, but once you won them over, they were ready to talk and help and give every bit of advice and recommendation. Free wi-fi is available in the lobby. The location was in a very safe, lovely neighborhood with a fresh market next door, and great places for espresso across the street. It is a close walk to the Vatican and an easy bus ride to the Colosseum.

AZ friends on a pre cruise visit.
Great Location, BUT we were disappointed
Sept.25,2009. We had rented 3 rooms for 3 couples. They said they ran out of rooms, which we booked and paid for 3 rooms through Orbitz months ago.My husband & I had to stay on the 4th floor in a Pension as a last resort. It was not even the Hotel Florida. The room was small with the shower being self contained in the bathroom without it having a separate door. The room was very noisey from kids in the next door room. It was very HOT in the room. They did not know where the remote was for the ceiling fan. They finally had to bring in a floor fan. They had one small elevator which only held one person with 2 suitcases in it. WE would never recommend this Hotel Florida to anyone.

Okay for the price
Hotel very convenient to Vatican City. Across town form Ancient Rome. Air conditioning was hit and miss.

Not what I have expected......
I chose the hotel for the location and because it seems modern and with confortable rooms. At the end the room was really small and the bathroom really tiny. I would not recommend to a couple or to a family. Maybe it could be last minute solution for a single.
