Over rated, I give it 3 stars. Nice restaurant. They tryed to charge us for our 2nd night, that was already paid for. Beware of taxis, they will switch bills you hand them and tell you you need to pay more (happend two times).

Worst customer service I have seen in some time and tried to charge us for the room rate we already paid through orbitz. As a result of the staff trying to charge us again, we missed our paid tour bus and had to make a twenty minute international call from our cell phone to try to sort it out via Orbitz. Avoid this place unless you are in a bind, have no place else to stay, or are just a gluten for punishment.

The Jolly Midas sits atop a hill in a ok neighborhood. The drive up to the hotel is lined with dumpsters and trash such as broken tvs and tires. There is a grocery store nearby and a McDonalds. My suggestion is wait till you get home to eat McDonalds, it is expensive and the twenty minute wait for your food while the employess talk to each other put us over the top. There is a grocery store down the hill so I suggest trying out some of their food. We bought their meat, cheese, wine and bread one night for dinner and it was excellent. The restaurant in the hotel is amazing and the employees are excellent. It can be a little pricey but the food and service was well worth it. The entry to the hotel is beautiful but once you get into your rooms you can tell that it is out dated. They have a free shuttle service and free parking area. I know that sounds funny but if you plan on renting a car you need to find a hotel that has free parking or it is next to impossible to find a parking space anywhere in Rome. The shuttle has sceduled times all through the day and into the evening.
