The Strand Hotel Rome

Cute, clean hotel in a residential area of rome. It takes about 20-25 minutes all together to get to the city center, but if you have the time, it is ok! Otherwise you might prefer staying closer to termini. There is no breakfast, but there is a good/inexpensive cafeteria right next to the hotel. Reception staff was great. Only negative side: we forgot a pair of boots (fairly new) in the hotel and when we came back the same afternoon after having checked out, they had not been returned...so i guess don't forget anything 'cause you will "lose" it.

Seul point positif, l'hôtel est tout près d'une station de métro pratique. Après cet hôtel se veut de luxe mais est un deux étoiles tout juste correct. On sent le métro passer. La baignoire fuyait dans la salle de bain et son système jacuzzi était cassé depuis bien longtemps. Le lit 200*180 ne laisse que très peu de place dans la chambre (de quoi se déplacer de biais). La couette était en plume et sale. Les serviette ressemblaient à des torchons. Un gobelet en plastique, un échantillon de gel douche et de shampoing pour deux nous attendaient dans la salle de bain. La télécommande de la TV et l'ordinateur pour accéder à Internet à la réception (payant) ne fonctionnaient pas. Bref payer plus de 70€ serait une vrai anarque. Il s'agit d'un hôtel deux étoiles de base. En somme j'y retournerais si je dois passer une seule nuit à Rome, que j'ai un budget très limité et que je n'ai pas le temps de chercher ailleurs. Dans d'autres conditions je me trouverais un autre hôtel.

Htel agrable, pas de service de petit djeuner, accueil un peu sommaire.

L'albergo ha ancora molte cose da completare e non provvedono velocemente alle richieste (es. una tenda sulla porta) ma il prezzo è davvero ottimo e il posto è pulito.

dommage que le ménage ne soit pas toujours fait quand on veut rentrer faire une sieste entre deux escapades dans l'après- midi, et les draps pas changés même quand ils sont tachés. pas de volets dans certaines chambres. sinon très bon rapport qualité- prix pour rome.

We really liked this place, it was clean and really nice and new. it was a pity that the lift wasn't working when we were there. we wish the pool bar was open and really needs some seats around the pool area for relaxing. the young guy on reception rocked, he help us soo much with silly little thing and places to eat. we found it a good distance from city. about 10 stops from main station, but takes about 15min max including walking to/from station. highly recommend!

We stayed at the Strand over Easter weekend, 2009. The hotel is a bit difficult to locate when driving down the street - look for one small sign posted on a building about 6 ft. up. Outdoor area of the hotel is picturesque (small pool with swim up bar) but the bar was not yet up and running. There was a nice patio which we enjoyed, but we had to sit on the ground because no patio furniture was available. Rooms were nice, comfortable, but small (as expected). Elevator was not working. Desk attendants were friendly and helpful. Short walk to the red-line Metro, which made seeing the city quite easy. It was great to find a hotel close enough to the city that had secure parking (for a fee). Definitely recommend the hotel and will stay there again.

This is the second time to use this hotel. It is very convenient to get to the metro. Sandro is a kind man and helpful. The breakfast is not available yet which is a downside. The cost did go up, but the season is busier so I did expect it. Still a convenient hotel overall.

Sandro was a great host. It was in the off season, so the price was great. Easy location to a metro stop, parking was fantastic. Breakfast was not included yet. Rooms were small but adequate for leaving your stuff and being on the go!! The showers were a bit unmanagable with the water filling quickly, but overall the stay was satisfying.
