- It is located in the courtyard. The menu, which focuses on specialties of the Tuscan region with a few excursions into traditional Italian cuisine. The dishes change with the seasons and detailed attention to produce in season and attentive selection of ingredients. One special dish of traditional Italian cooking is featured every day. The deserts are served with a choice of meditational wines by the glass. The wine list will comprise three hundred labels selected with a view to promoting and enhancing the culture and knowledge of wines. Some wines are also available by the glass.

Wonderful Experience!
I wish we could have stayed longer. We only planned to say in Siena for 2 days. The Grand Continental Hotel provided a lovely place to rest and relax after long days of sightseeing and walking throughout the city. The staff was warm and friendly and the location was PERFECT! The room was clean and comfortable with a nice, spacious bathroom. The breakfast was good and the 4-star restaurant within the hotel was very good!! Overall, we would have loved to stay longer!! We'll be back.

The Elegant Grand Hotel Siena Italy
This was our second visit to Siena and our second stay at the Grand Hotel. It's a beautiful, elegant hotel situated perfectly in distance from shops, restaurants and the Palio area. Our room was spacious and on this occasion the room had a small outside balcony from which to view the beautiful sights of a beautiful city. What I enjoyed was not only having a bureau but also a large walk in closet. Our first visit had breakfast included but this was not the case during our second visit. I thoroughly enjoy this hotel and have recommended it to others and everyone has a very positive experience. The staff is very professional and attentive. We did experience a problem, however, with the concierge. We were to fly into Florence, however, due to winds our plane was diverted to Pisa. We had reserved a driver, through the hotel, to meet us in Florence. We assumed the driver would follow the plane schedule and realize we were not in Florence but in Pisa. That being said, we scoured the airport looking for the driver; we were with another couple who did the same thing. After waiting a considerable amount of time, we hired a cab to take us to Siena. The concierge was not happy and implied that the driver was there looking for us and that we should pay for the reservation. We felt it was not our responibility and we did not pay. From that time on the concierge was cool and alloof and didn't even lift his head to make eye contact with us. This was very different from our fist experience when we had nothing but high praise for the people at the hotel desk. All in all, it's a wonderful place and Siena is a gorgeous place to visit...I would absolutely stay at this hotel again.

The Best in Siena
When you want the best in town, you stay at the Continental! Keep in mind that they give out 5 stars a whole lot easier in Europe than in the States but this is a magnificent property. The rooms are small but beautifully appointed. There is no better location in Siena and ask for a room on the top floor facing the valley and Basilica/Cathedral. They have small balconies and the view is magnificent. Ask the front desk to send you to a non-tourist, family owned restaurant and you will be in heaven.

Short walk from hotel
The coffee bar next door will save you on breakfast. Next to that is a wonderful grocery store - you would have to be a local to even know it was there!Brfst 26 Euros each. You can't drive into the town, but if you are staying at the GHC you get away with it. The cop even escorted us to the hotel. Parking is 45 Euro a day.
