Mit dem Auto: Nachdem sie die A2 Autobahn Rom-Neapel überquert haben, folgen Sie auf der A3 Salerno der Beschilderung zur Halbinsel Sorrent. Fahren Sie an Castellammare di Stabia vorbei und weiter in Richtung Sorrento. Mit dem Zug: Vom Bahnhof Napoli Centrale (Neapel Hauptbahnhof) und der Piazza Garibaldi aus nehmen Sie die Linie Circumvesuviana Richtung Sorrent. Die Fahrt dauert etwa 60 min.

From here, the view of the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius is quite breathtaking. The Villa Comunale, the Cloisters of San Francesco, the beaches of Marina Grande: all these are situated just a few meters away from the hotel. Sorrento is the principal town on the Sorrentine peninsula and is well served by both public and private forms of transport. Nerano, Massa Lubrense, the Amalfi Coast, and the Punta Campanella Marine Reserve are all within easy reach of the hotel. Herculaneum, Pompei and Naples are approximately an hour's drive away.

Perfect in every way
La Favorita was the perfect base from which to drive to Herculaneum, Vesuvius, Pompeii and the Amalfi coast. Its location in the heart of beautiful Sorrento and underground parking meant that we could walk through the old town in the evening or down to the port to catch the ferry to the island of Capri for a day trip. La Favorita was completely refurbished in 2010 and has a lovely rooftop pool and terrace for sunbathing. The service was excellent and they even have a courtesy room with a shower which we used to freshen up before travelling back to the airport.

Hire a car and stay at La Favorita. All attractions are either an easy drive or a short walk from the hotel, and the service is excellent.

Unfortunately we had to cancel our trip due to a medical emergency, however, the staff at La Hotel Favorita were super friendly and helpful with all of our travel questions. We really regret not being able to experience this hotel.

outstanding value in great location
Sorrento is beautiful and view of the Bay of Naples from the rooftop patio is picture postcard perfect.Takin a trip to Pompeii is a must. Easy ferry trip to Naples for sight seeing just a few minutes walk from hotel.While there is no restaurant on site there is an affiliated one just a couple of minutes walk that may be the prettiest place we ever ate with outstanding food. Ask for [...] to be your waiter and listen to his recommendations.

Excellent, Excellent Hotel!!!
I booked this hotel for the first part of my honeymoon. I booked everything last minute. I had a choice between this hotel and another one, but the rooftop pool won me over. La Favorita was a little more pricey than the other hotels I looked at, but it was worth every penny. The location was in the middle of everything, yet on a sidestreet, so it was quiet. When we pulled up to the hotel, we weren't sure we had the right hotel, it certainly looked alot more expensive than what we spent! The courtyard had beautiful white/grey tiles, there were mini lemon trees all over, and little table set up. The lobby of the hotel was amazing! The men at the front desk were very nice, very easy to communicate with, and very quickly gave us our key card and had someone help us to our room. The room was so beautiful! It was completely tiled with hand painted traditional italian tiles, the bed was more like a king than a queen, there was a flat screen tv with satellite tv, and a huge bathroom with a hairdryer. Everything was immaculate! We had a balcony, not much of a view other than people's laundry and an interesting family that lived across the way, but it didn't matter. We then went to check out the pool on the roof. They give you a few cards to exchange for towels when you use the pool. They are very strict with the hygeine, the sign with the rules of the pool said you had to shower before going in the pool, which was fine with me! The pool was beautiful! The pictures do it no justice. It was so relaxing to sit up there and have a drink and look to the streets below and watch all the people. The men at the front desk, helped us find places to go, the arranged a boat ride around Capri excursion for us (FYI, they charge the excursions to your room, but when you settle the bill, you must pay the excursions in cash, so make sure you have it on hand) and they arranged car service to take us to the train station in Napoli, since we missed the boat to Napoli. Oh, we ate dinner in their restaurant a couple of blocks away, I forget the name right now, and the food was delicious, but the service was a little off. I am accustomed to the relaxed atmospheres in Italian restaurants, but when you have to get up and search for your waiter for the bill after waiting 45 minutes, it's a little frustrating. But I must say the food was worth it! THis hotel was worth every penny, and if I hadn't prepaid the rest of my trip in advance, I would have cancelled everything else and stayed there!

Short walk from hotel
If you want to have a wonderful meal and view, go to the Foreigner's Club. It is not that expensive, you get amazing food, and the view is outstanding, as the restaurant is on a cliff over looking the bay of Naples. My husband says that restaurant ruined him for food forever. He says everytime he will ever eat Italian food in the future, he will compare it to the foreigner's club.
