Santa Chiara Hotel Venice

This was my second stay in this hotel, however, this time I stayed in their new facility (Residence Parisien) 100 meters from the Hotel just next to the waterbus station. Very nice and big room, however, facing the car parking at Piazza le Roma. The breakfast was at the hotel was OK, but we were not allowed for extending the check-out by... half an hour.

Excellent location for shopping and dining if you have no problems climbing stairs. Night desk man was very curt and unfriendly, however daytime desk man was excellent and provided us with every request we made. Upon arrival, we were to go to a different venue, but after insisting we were able to stay at the original location.

Rooms were very basic, but location was perfect. One of the only hotels that is accessible by both car and boat with no bridge crossing required.

I cannot think of anything that would have made our stay more enjoyable. We felt like royalty in this small Italian palace. we would stay there again in a heartbeat.

I needed to stay an extra night because my flight to New York was delayed. They completely abused the situation and charged me 300 Euro for an extra night. I saw people come of the street asking for availability(in Italian), they were offered the room for 150Euro/night. They tryed to epeese me by saying that Breakfast was included. But when I asked them to wrap my breakfast for me since we had to leave @ 6am and trevel to Rome to catch the flight. I had to ask 3 times. They were making surprised faces, when I was telling them I would have to feed my children something since we needed to be in transit the whole day. Finaly they ended up packing a few things rushed, the last moment when I was out the door @ 6am and nervous I would miss my train to Rome. They also said I am geting a Suit. It was a room without a bathroom in the room. Bathroom was through the hallway. The room itself was so small we barely could bring our not so big suitcases into the room. All in all not very pleasent expirience.

As for the hotel it was very nice and great location. After driving 11 hrs across Euorpe we called the hotel and they had no record of us coming. With no where else to go we went to the hotel and the staff called every other hotel in Venice which were all booked. [...]At 11pm we had no hotel room and no customer service in Italy. What a experience.

Situé face à la gare de chemin de fer et au terminus des Bus, vous n'aurez pas à porter vos bagages au travers les ruelles de Venise. L'arrêt du Vaporeto est également au pied de l'hotel. Ca bouge bien au tour du Santa Chiara! La chambre est de taille normale mais la salle de bain est étroite et montre qu'elle a bien servi. Le mobilier a lui aussi vécu, la literie est bonne. Pas d'eau chaude un matin, incident réglé rapidement. Pour résumer, bon emplacement, hotel vieillot, une rénovation est nécessaire pour justifier les tarifs.

We arrived in to Venice very late on Friday night & were given a double room rather than a twin as booked. There was no issue from the staff & we were immediately moved to the annex of the hotel a 5 min walk away and got a much better & bigger room with a bigger bathroom. We found the staff very helpful @ all times & our room was cleaned every day & we got fresh towels every day. The location was super and we were very happy with our stay in Venice.

We were not pleased with our standard room. The room we had was much smaller. The sheets and the bed were very uncomfortable and the bathroom and shower were more like you would find in a travel trailer. The parking was right at the hotel and we did have a view of the canal (and the bus parking lot) We would not stay there again, we were very disappointed.
