The public ferry offers inexpensive transportation to Dubrovnik (25 minute ride), as well as the islands of Lopud (15 minute ride) and Sipan (25 minute ride), so the visitor can spend a day or less discovering the beauty of each location. Day trips are available to explore the wine making region of Peljesac, visit the town of Ston with the second longest wall after the Great Wall of China, also known for its oysters. A 40 minute boat ride will take you to the 15th century gardens of Trsteno. Kotor in Montenegro, the only fjord in southern Europe and Mostar, known for its beautiful bridge in Bosnia are also day trips from Kolocep Island.
