Arena Hotel Amsterdam

Wir waren als Paar ein Wochenende in Amsterdam und haben uns in dem Hotel sehr wohl gefühlt. Unser Zimmer war zwar klein, aber durch die ca 6 Meter hohe Decke und die zweite Ebene gut durchdacht und zum Wohlfühlen. Alles ist gepflegt und sieht noch neu aus. Der Mix aus altem Ambiente und neuem Disign ist perfekt gelungen. Die Hotelbar lud uns gleich am ersten Abend zum bleiben ein. Dort sind auch nicht nur Hotelgäste, sondern auch "Einheimische" anzutreffen. Besonders toll war der Club, der in der alten Kirche an einigen Abenden im Monat existiert. Dort konnten wir ohne Eintritt (sonst 15 Euro) gut tanzen. Das Frühstück ist reichhaltig und der Kaffee ist gut. Die 15,50 € pro Person war uns das wert. Teuer ist der Parkplatz für 25 € pro Tag. Allerdings ist das ein normaler Preis für Amsterdam. Auf der Straße zahlt man sogar 36 € am Tag!! Beim nächsten mal werden wir bestimmt wieder in das Hotel reisen, aber vielleicht mit der Bahn anreisen. Die Lage ist direkt bei der Uni und wir konnten alle Sachen zu Fuß erreichen. Ansonsten fährt auch direkt die Straßenbahn.

Hotel Arena ligt vlakbij het Oosterpark en is per tram 7 en 10 goed bereikbaar. Als je in de binnenstad verblijft en de laatste tram rijdt niet meer (rond 00:00 uur) dan kost een taxi tussen de €10,- en €15,-. Goed te doen dus. Van binnen is het Hotel luxe en stijlvol en de kamers zijn ronduit schitterend. Het personeel is ook perfect. Dit hotel raad ik aan voor zakenreizigers, (kortstondige) stelletjes, clubbers (de club van Hotel Arena is in het weekend geopend), mensen die niet in het lawaai van de pleinen willen zitten. Overall: sjiek en goed georganiseerd. Klein minpunt: inchecktijd 15:00.

This is a nice and clean hotel located close to downtown Amsterdam. It is close to subway thus quite covinient.

Overall I wasn't disappointed at all. My first room I was a little unhappy due to my height and this particular room, though it was very quaint and comfortable it was tough, but after voicing my minor complaint they switched up my room and I actually ended up with an upgrade right away. The AM breakfast is very tasty and has a good variety of foods to appease most palettes, though I would like to add that it is charged to your room, though I don't think the pricing is posted or made clear unless asked, just fair warning, but I felt it was of value. The club was also entertaining, just make sure to talk to the hosts during the day to get on the list. Buy a tram pass from the host and don't forget to tap on and off the tram ;-)

Very nice place. Little bit far from center, but queit. Outstanding bed & pillow !

Very clean and great room and not far from bus/metro station. But it takes 10-20mins if walking with a big luggage like me since the road is not flat enough. Not much service thought, I couldn't get my food heats up when I asked for help from the front desk. Except that, great staying experience and will recommend and willing to stay again.

Excited to get to this fancy sexy hotel after a long day of sightseeing, couldn't have been more disappointed. I had requested a bathtub and had even called in to confirm. The woman assured me it would be fine but thought I should also write an email to confirm our conversation to the reservations desk. When we arrived the front desk gave us soooooooooooo much attitude about the tub. Implying that for the deal we got we would be lucky to be staying there at all. I wouldn't back down and eventually someone showed us to a room with a bathtub. I will say the lobby common areas were quite impressive. As was our room at first glance. In the dark evening light, the high ceiling, mouldings, cornices, and grand windows were quite regal. But by the light of day everything looked different. The room was filthy! The bathroom was awash in mildew and rot. The high ceilings covered in cobwebs and the furniture and walls stained and smeared, with god knows what. We asked for a late checkout of which we had to pay 40€ and we were interrupted no less than 2 times by people coming in to check the mini bar. I've stayed in a lot of hotels, inns, b&b's, from good to bad to ugly and this is the first time I have felt compelled to write a nasty review. Don't stay here unless you like dirt and being treated like it.

Beautiful hotel, impeccably courteous and professional staff, outstanding room. Ya, it's not in the heart of town, but is convenient to trams or the front desk can get you a cab in about 1 minute (~11 euro to centraal station) Fantastic bed, great shower, decent views of the canal. All in all a very good hotel, it's only drawbacks being the quality of service in the bar (really slow) and the service charge for internet.
