Inexpensive respite in a beautiful city
4 Stars? Hmm, but still a nice hotel.
The staff couldn't be more friendly and accomodating. It was a pleasant stay. This is an old hotel. I stayed here (for good luck) because my parents and I (and my brother) stayed there nearly 30 years ago- the last time all 4 of us were in Portugal. Was in Lisbon on sad news- dealing with my father's will. All went well and was glad I stayed there. The location is best reason to stay as well as price. Metro and bus stations nearby, City Center Park 1 block over, main attractions a 15 minute walk- if you love hills. Hotel has limited amenities. Internet reasonble 10 Euros for 24 hour clock (not day rate, but for 24 hours). Full breakfast 8.50 Euros. Car rental next door, plenty of restaurants nearby. Again, go for location and to save some Euros. It's considered a 4-star, I don't think so, more like a 3.

There are high end shops starting a 5-minute walk away at Avenida de Liberdade. BRING COMFY SHOES- WITH THICK RUBBER- Sidewalks are cobblestone- charming, but murder on the feet.

ok - but not great
The place has had some pretty bad reviews on the internet - all we wanted was somewhere clean safe and quiet. It fits those criteria. The restaurant is a bit drab so I wouldnt eat there other than if I had to. BTW - its close to Pombal but its a fairly steep hill to drag your bags up

The aircon machine blowed directly
The aircon machine blowed directly on face so that was not comfortable, otherwise really nice, clean, simple hotel close to the underground station from where easy access to city center.
