Beautiful suite hotel close to the waterfront. Staff is exceptional. Suites have full kitchens with washer-dryer. Bathrooms are large.

We were welcomed warmly from the moment we arrived. The staff was very attentive and and never had to lift a finger, every detail was taken care of! Our room was very large, spacious, and very clean. We felt very safe at the hotel as it is gated and the gate is closed at night and there is a doorman to let you in. The room had a washer/dryer combo which we appreciated and used as we had been in SA for a few weeks. The breakfast was delicious with a buffet of fruit and muffins and a cook to order option of french toast, eggs benedict, etc., with several juices, coffee, and tea. The hotel is just a short cab ride away to area attractions: Table Mountain, the Waterfront, and Long Street, etc. The hotel also offered a complimentary shuttle within 5km; however, we never used this. We never had trouble getting a cab as there were several lined up outside the hotel. We enjoyed every aspect of our stay and would definitely stay here again!

This is really a nice and beautiful hotel. The staff was very nice and helpful. We missed Internet connection because it was not working. Other than that was an excellent weekend.

Everything was perfect from the moment I arrived. The staff was attentive and friendly. The two bedroom suite was spacious yet comfortable. The view from my living room window overlooking the World Cup stadium and the ocean was unforgettable. The food was scrumptious. First rate hotel--I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

My friend and I spent 3 days, 4 nights in Capetown. We decided that location was key in deciding where to stay, given that this was our first visit to Capetown. The Cape Royale seemed to fit this bill, and we were very pleased with its proximity to the V&A Waterfront, as well as to the downtown area with nicer restaurants. The hotel offers free transport within .5 km, which we utilized during most of our stay (extra nice when we rode in a jaguar!) The hotel is new and the rooms are quite comfortable and spacious. The rooms are equipped with kitchens that include a refrigator, washer/dryer, a microwave/grill, and toaster (all of which we utilized, with some effort in reading through the instruction manuals!) The space was surprising, and we discovered that the hotel is selling one and two-bedroom units as condominiums. Having a suite configuration for the hotel rooms is nice, particularly if there is more than one of you. The concierge was extremely knowledgeable and we relied heavily on him to help plan our daily activities, which included a day trip around the Cape of Good Hope. Securing a car and driver through the hotel for the day trip was not cheap, but definitely worthwhile. We stopped at Boulders Beach, where we saw the famed penguins, went to the Cape of Good Hope, stopped at an ostrich farm, and drove up along the coast with its beautiful vistas of the ocean and quaint seaside towns. Having a private car enabled us to pick and choose what we wanted to see, and spend as much time as we wanted to at each site. My one qualifier of the hotel has to do with the room service. While the food itself was good, the hotel did not seem used to providing room service (they forgot an order, then provided half an order.) Not the best service in this area.

The Cape Royale Hotel is located in a premier location for the World Cup Soccer in 2010. It is located near the up and coming Greenpoint section and not far from the Waterfront - which is the premier spot in Cape Town. The rooms are great, the staff are friendly and extremely helpful. They all know Cape Town really well and so can point to tourist and non-tourist destinations. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel.

I made a same-day booking online for Cape Royale and knew nothing about the place. I wound up staying two nights in a deluxe suite, which is essentially a one-bedroom apartment. The staff was very attentive. The hardwood floors in the room and non-smoking policy were appreciated. The furnishings were top-notch modern, and the kitchen was unbelievably well-equipped. Waterfront location on Main Road in Greenpoint made for easy walk to Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. Hotel offers complimentary car service within 5 km, too. The included breakfast option was a disappointment - there are plenty of better and less expensive options nearby to justify skipping it. Also, the hallway noise was intrusive a few times late at night. There was no bathtub, which would have made it perfect. Weirdly, there was also no deadbolt or latch on the door, to keep hotel staff with a key from entering while occupied. While housekeeping respected the Do Not Disturb hanger, this fact did unnerve me a bit, as a woman traveling solo. I go to Cape Town as often as possible. I will return to the Cape Royale!
