Yasmak Sultan Hotel

This was a great hotel. I spent 3 1/2 weeks in Turkey at 5 different hotels on a faculty study tour, so I saw the range from not so good to really great. I decided to end my trip with one week in Istanbul to sight see and meet with colleagues. I knew nothing about the Yasmak Sultan and relied heavily on Internet reviews like this one. I stayed 8 nights. It was simply wonderful. All the reviews are right. The location is fabulous -- one block from the tram. It was near the Topkapi Palace but not in the middle of the hordes of tourists just a few blocks away. The hotel was quiet, on a small street with tons of restaurants in small streets nearby. And that's just the location. The hotel itself was a great facility. I expected my room to be be small, but it wasn't. I had a nice view of the street, but when I closed the window the room was so quiet! The air was good, but really not needed because the weather was perfect. They even let you pick your pillows from 5 different choices! Front desk staff -- helpful. Morning breakfast buffet -- yummy. Hospitality - my favorite was the concierge. She greeted me my first morning there at breakfast (I was traveling alone, a rarity in Istanbul. She was so helpful! It's important to note that the Yasmak had visitors from all over the world, different faiths and languages. She just was so wonderful with everyone. My only suggestion for improvement -- I kept getting knocked off the Internet. A stronger signal would do the trick. A small price to pay to be in beautiful Istanbul. I hated to leave. This was a GREAT HOTEL.

Very good price and perfect location to get around the city. Breakfast was good and enjoyable with daily variety. The room was not spacious but very clean and pleasant. Turkish spa and massage is available at reasonable price, but you need reservation well in advance.

It's a good clean hotel and located to the most important places. We will like to thank also Mrs. Ozlem from customer relations who recommend us what to do every day in Istanbul.

Normally you have to die to go to paradise, but here you can buy a stay in paradise, at a very reasonable price for the quality given. Really outstanding is the service, not just polite but very serious and personal. Tourist information and problem solving at top level! The internal competition in adequate friendliness has no winners, both in front office, housekeeping, restaurant and guest relations.

Other than cigarette smelling room that they gave me despite asking for a non smoking room, everything else was excellent. Location is fantastic as most historical sites are within walking distance.

A wonderful location right in the heart of the old city within walking distance of most tourist interests. The room was small but cosy and comfortable for the two of us. The reception desk was most courteous and helpful. The rooftop restaurant has a wonderful view. On the whole a very pleasant experience.

This was an excellent hotel. The rooms were not large but this was more than made up for by the friendliness of the staff and the excellent location of the hotel near to the major sights. It was also close to the tram line giving access to the Taksim area. The other real plus was the Olive restaurant which couples as the breakfast room on the top floor giving magnificent views of Istanbul. The hot buffet breakfasts were well worth it and the dinner we had there one night was exceptional. I thoroughly recommend this hotel to stay in.

Znakomite polozenie, w samym sercu 'starego mista'. Blisko praktycznie do kazdego waznego turystycznie miejsca. Brak dodatkowych uslug opisywanych w hotelowym katalogu; powod: remont tej czesci hotelu.Troche wolny internet, ale da sie z tym zyc. Restauracja ok, oferujaca b.ciekawy widok.

Excellent location, excellent service. Would definitely stay here again if I visit Istanbul. Short walking distance to major sites: Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia Museum, Topkapi Palace, Underground Cistern etc. Aslo walking distance to Grand Bazaar and Spice Market. Very plush lobby and decent sized room and bathroom which was spotless. Staff very helpful and fantastic view over the old city from the rooftop restaurant where they serve breakfast. Helpful with suggested day tours of the city and facilities include Turkish bath, sauna etc.
