Beautiful place, high price, very nice restaurant at the top. The room was nice just not stand out at that price

We are used to traveling to tropical resorts but had to travel to Phoenix for a wedding. The Buttes was truelly a desert resort with beautiful landscaping and the hotel built into the mountain. The rooms were clean and charmig if not outstanding but the overall atmosphere was far and above a hotel in the desert. It was an oasis.

Walk outside and right on Mills Ave. where everything is. Great restaurants close by and great night-life.

This hotel sits close to everything in Tempe and close to Scottsdale and Phoenix. There is on-sight restaurant, bar, room service, pool and tennis courts, but what really makes this property is the outstanding staff. They go out of their way to make your experience pleasant! Free Wi-Fi, comfortable, clean rooms and lots of casual spaces to relax round out a great property.

We had a great time in Tempe! The hotel staff was great and super friendly. Room was clean and pool was enjoyable. However the bed was very uncomfortable. Similar to sleeping on the sidewalk. And the air conditioner was extremely loud. It could not keep the room at a steady temperature. It was either extremely hot or extremely cold in the room.

I arrived from the east coast early morning and went to the hotel to drop my bag. They offered to put me in a room immediately, which was wonderful. Next, I was traveling over my birthday and had flowers and a bottle of wine delivered to my room. The staff made sure the flowers were fresh by storing them in the refrigerator until I could pick them up and put a small refrigerator in my room to make sure the wine stayed cool. So thoughtful. The staff in the breakfast area was also great, so overall two very enthusiastic thumbs up for the wonderful women at the Marriott Courtyard Tempe!

The hotel was perfect until I noticed the bed sheet was wrinkled and with a couple of hairs in it. I guess someone decided just to make the bed again. At this point it was 12am and I had to catch a flight at 5, so I just left my clothes on and got some sleep. It sure was a shame because everything else in the hotel was nice and clean.

we just needed a room for the night before departure from PHX airport and e choice we made was perfect. Helpful staff ( they changed the room because of the smell of smoke), good breakfast and quite room. We had a goo d night sleep before flying into Venice ITALY

Visted my son who lives in Arizona, did sight seeing; room was much better than it was before, totally renovated. Down side - missing equipment - did not find out until the day before we were leaving that the cable boxes were missing on all TVs; the maid service could have been more detail oriented; was left without supplies a few times, however, when I called the front desk they promptly responded with my requests.

It's right next to Arizona State's Campus and the 202 Loop, which means get around the great Phoenix area is a breeze.

Friendly, helpful staff, clean rooms No outdoor pool though, which I thought was weird for Phoenix

1. reserved for 3 people, 2 guests and my self thru the internet. At check in manager said they made the error on your reservation and we only have 1 king sized bed. Manager was no help. Addressed me as you instead of my name and never said sir nor did he apologize. He said.. we have no roll away bed either and your out of luck. Thus 3 of us cannot sleep in one bed especially with my grown daughter I said. Consequently, I had to get a room across street at another hotel. A VERY DISAPOINTING WEEKEND AND VERY EXPENSIVE!!!. My daughter and her finance did not like the room and the parking lot was full of drunk students from Arizona state apartments across the way!!! Do not put this on the internet!!!!

this hotel served its purpose and i liked the face that i could just walk to ASU business school. there were a few problems like a leak in the roof in the bathroom and loose fire alarm. also it was too loud at times at night because of a sports team being there the same time as me on the same floor.

Was located in a great area, very friendly staff. Had a great stay , would suggest 1 thing to get new tvs.... But that's all....

Friendly staff. Clean facility. Nice continental breakfast. Convenient location to airport and ASU campus. Hotel has a free shuttle on demand to local locations. Nothing ritzy but great for the average traveler.

This was my first stay at a Hawthorn Suites. The room product is the best thing about the hotel and the hot breakfast was a plus. What I didn't like: directly on the highway and noise; very small lot, all blacktop, no landscaping; extremely small pool, no privacy, exposed to the entrance driveway; only one local, non-branded restaurant in walking distance.

A pleasant place to stay at a reasonable price. So this was or second stay and plan to return.

The staff was WONDERFUL! The rooms were comfortable and the hotel was close to everything. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

This is by no means a bad place to stay, but to be fair and honest, this is a hotel, NOT a resort. It is a pretty standard hotel room with comfortable beds, but it's small. The shower is hot and powerful, but just standard. The pool is nicer than standard hotel fare, and there is a hot tub. There is a restaurant on site, room service (including pool side room service) but not much else, and no real views of anything. The hotel is located on a major street in Tempe, and the view is just as likely to be of the parking lot. Pluses - If you want to visit Tempe, which is a cool little hippie type college town, this is a great place to stay. The shuttle service, as others have mentioned, is awesome. They will take you anywhere in a 5 mile radius, 24 hours a day, including to the airport and to the train station (which is a very convenient way to go the short distance to Phoenix or to Mesa), to downtown Tempe (which is very interesting, esp at night), and to visit the local park with mountain trails, botanical gardens, etc. The drivers are great, and a couple in particular, if you are lucky enough to get them, are very funny and personable. If you like that type of personal service, this is a great advantage. It's great not HAVING to rent a car while in town, and the wait for the shuttle was never very long leaving the hotel or returning. Minuses - there was nothing to do outside of the room besides go to the pool, and leave the hotel grounds for other forms of entertainment. This is a great place for business travel, as there are conference rooms, and there are lots of conventions that reserve rooms there. It's good for anyone wanting to stay in Tempe for whatever reason. If you are looking for a resort type atmosphere with luxurious accommodations, this may not be what you are looking for (although there is a spa onsite at which you can reserve service). But it's a good value, good location, and good for service, for a hotel. I recommend.

Staff was very friendly & helpful. Food at restaurant was a little pricey, but was very good. Heated pool was awesome due to cooler temperatures in February. We were somewhat concerned about noise issues that we had read about previously on website reviews, but never experienced any problems during our weeks stay. King size bed was WONDERFUL!! All in all we were very pleased with our stay here.

We had a wonderful stay, and met many fans from many teams. Plan on going back.

everything was nice and ready for me when i checked in. everything need was done when i asked.

The hotel and our room was very clean and modern. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. There was a small bar counter with sink and fridge. Normal items were a coffee pot, couch, easy chair, desk and a wall mounted large screen TV. It was in reasonable distance from the University. Better than average breakfast for a hotel.

All the front desk staff were very pleasant and helpful. It was great to be able to get the shuttle from the airport. The room was clean and comfortable.

It is not very close to public transportation. Because of the location on campus I needed to visit, the walk was lengthy. 15-25 minutes with bags and materials. Not a lot of restaurants nearby (McDonald's and Whataburger). Their own restaurant only opened for breakfast. If you needed to walk for food, it was even farther. It took me 1 hour to check in. Only one staff member was available, and it went slowly. Both faucets in my room were faulty, so I had to wait one day for a shower. Fitness room machines were not all working properly. Since there aren't that many, I had to wait. The morning I left, I had to wake up especially early to grab the shuttle because they wanted to accommodate airline employees, and their schedule. Since the restaurant was not open, all of them were given free breakfast by the staff. After we got in the shuttle, I was told they were being dropped off first, even though my terminal was the closest.

The location was perfect- easy drive to the airport. The room was comfortable and clean and the breakfast was very nice.

This hotel was very clean and the room was large and well proportioned. Two sinks would have been much nicer. Check-in was easy and quick. The pool area is nice, but the pool is very small and shallow. Front desk staff were available, but didn't offer any particular greetings or ask if we needed anything. We did call down for more pillows, and they were very quickly brought up to the room. All in all, a nice stay...perhaps a little overpriced for the amenities.

The hotel was nice during the week, and the breakfast was decent. But on the weekends it seems to attract people looking to party in hotel rooms. Got loud and some of the drunk guests made me a little nervous returning to my room late a night.

The only thing I require in a hotel is cleanliness! In this case I got an extremely clean room for a great price. The only thing I would suggest to others is to carry your own pillows. The ones provided were horrible!

Great location close to the airport and car rental center. ASU is only minutes away....

The room was nice and clean. Good location as I was there for a half marathon. Close to a lot of shopping and food.

Small rooms but clean and quiet. Only spent time in the room when I was sleeping. I was visiting my son and ASU and found the hotel to be very convient for this visit. I would stay there again. Free breakfast was very good.

This is a decent choice for a a short stay in Tempe. The room was small but clean. The rate was inexpensive and the free breakfast was an added bonus. The only thing I did not like was they charge you $10 for the airport shuttle. $5 would have been more appropriate in my opinion or free like most other airport hotels.

Perfect if you are wanting to use light rail to get around. Rail stop just across the street from the hotel and very easy to use. Cereal and pastries only for breakfast. Clean older motel with comfortable beds.

Room was ok, just what to expect from nightly rate. The only thing, was that the coffee pot inside the room was dirty, I was not able to make coffee in my room.

2 cribs needed & 2cribs were provided. Stayed at another hotel last year - they did Not hold a crib even though requested when made reservation, we reminded the hotel again on day of arrival.

My son enjoyed the pool very much and mini van was very helpful that they picked us up after we dropped the rental car at 10pm the night before our departure, then took us back to the airport at 5 am for the early flight back home.

Went sight seeing! Visited ASU Checked out Chase Field Went to "Brewers" vs Angles game. Yeah, Brewers won! Great weather! Beautiful City!

We stayed here two separate nights before and after a road trip, because it was close to the airport. The rooms were clean and comfortable both times; the breakfast was good; the price was fair, and the staff were accomodating.
