The owners were very nice, the air conditioner was amazing as it was 108 degrees that day, the room stayed nice and cool. We never did see the pool or ice machine. The area is scary at night, and yes we did see a couple of "ladies of the evening" nearby. The breakfast (even though there is a picture of bacon, eggs, and such on their official hotel website) was a bowl of a choice between 2 different sugar cereals and pre packaged pasteries. The room was old and run down, however, the bed was EXTREMELY comfortable, and for the first time in months I woke up without back pain. It is the "nicest" looking hotel in the middle of 3 really bates motel looking places. The soap in the shower doubled as shampoo and the towels had rust stains on them... and the water pressure was lacking greatly. It was far away from anything good and no places to eat within walking distance... I guess because it's too scary to walk anywhere in that area. Also, bring everything with you into the room and leave nothing in your car at night. NOT a good value for the location it was in at all.

I did not end up staying here. The pictures given were very deceiving. The neighborhood the Holiday Motel was in was horrible. Bars on doors, bar on windows added to the decor along with the people outside trying to sell drugs and maybe even a hooker or two. The woman at the desk who may have been the owner was very nice but was not enough for me to stay for the night.

Nice Location, however our curtain wouldn't close had to buy some safety pins to keep the curtain close. The toliet was not completely flushing all the way, but other than that beds were comfy.

We have stayed at several hotels being on our road trip. This hotel had been the best experience for our stay. Rooms were large almost the size of my 3 car garage at home. The room we got had almost a variety of amenties compared to higher end hotels.
Mini fridge was included at no charge with room were weve been charged $10.00 at some hotels.
We had pleasent comfortable sleep and there was a nice continental breakfast.

Went to Fresno to see some of my wife's relatives and to show them our two very tiny children. We've stayed at this particular America's Best before and found it to be well sited for our purposes. The rooms were quite large, which was nice considering we had children that wanted to roam about because they'd been cooped up in the minivan all day, and we managed to book an adjoining room for my mother in law that was traveling with us. Their continental breakfast was pretty ordinary among such offerings---those looking for something akin to the Embassy Suites breakfast will be very disappointed, but it have fresh fruit, cereal, milk, bread and bagels, powdered doughnuts, and oatmeal. The rooms were quiet and clean and did not smell of anything untoward. The premises were free of sketchy characters and obnoxious or aggressive drunks. The hotel appears to specialize in tour groups---this time there weren't any--a Korean group was by simply to eat dinner, but often tour groups will be present. They're not generally an annoying crowd, but Asian tour groups in general DO tend to smoke like chimneys, albeit not in the rooms themselves. The hotel is close by to a number of restaurants.

I usually have a hard time sleeping at hotels / motels but this place had me pleasantly surprised. My legs usually cramp for some reason after a stay at any place but I awoke without discomfort and rested. The room was clean and the television was a decent size (the only negative was slight as some channels were a bit "fuzzy" but not too "fuzzy"). I really liked the bathroom because it was large and had a more than adequate bath / shower. Plus the hostess was pleasant and charming, without seeming too attentive, if that makes sense. Defintely will come back here at this price.

It amazes me what big hotel chains put their name on. That being said, the staff here are VERY friendly and helpful as they can be. Management need to put in a bit of elbow grease to make this worth the money.
Starting with the airport pick up, driver was very friendly and respectful. Did not pick up at the designated van/shuttle area. The basket sitting on the floor of the can by the driver is a plee for tips. That's tacky. I tipped my driver, but only because he was very helpful. The lobby was warm and filled with hot lights, large TV, coffee and computer. The lobby is not the place for a business area. Most Buisness people don't want the entire Lobby looking at their work. I checked in at 1 pm and they were hard pressed to find a room even though I had a reservation. The room is very spacious, but the damp, moldy smell is off putting. I turned on the AC to see if that might help, but it made it worse. I asked for a different room, but they didn't have any left that had working AC. It's also 94 degrees outside. The bathroom decor is strange. The lighting fixtures were recycled from the 60s, the sink is chipped and has brown stains in it and the sink water pressure is a trickle at best. The shower has serious mold issues inside the clear shower knob, along the caulk in the shower and on the curtain. At one point I took a shower, walked aroundy room for 15 min and got back in the shower ony to see my own black footprints in the shower floor after just having taken a shower. The TV is a nice new flat screen but with about 10 cable channels, and about 6 hotel channels. Overall, I can tell they are trying to be a better hotel by the service, but cleanliness is a MAJOR issue.

We visited friends in Fresno. Both of us are California State University, Fresno. The location is excellent, close to restaurants and shopping centers. Unfortunately, it was too cold to visit Yosemite or Sequoia National Parks.
Next year, we hope to visit the parks.

There were strange noises coming from the bathroom which I didn't like. And the view from my window was of the neighboring hotel which wasn't good. Also, the ironing board was on its last legs and should have been thrown away. Aside from that I thought it was very clean, and I liked the room. I especially liked the wall that separated the sitting area from the sleeping area.

We were a family grp of 6 and had 2 rooms. We "bookended" this hotel at the beginning and end of our stay. Our first nite had us in a room that had a very uncomfortable king bed but on the way back it was a better bed (firm rules here;no pillow tops!). The rest of the family thought beds left a "sore back too". Rooms were very average in decor but extremely clean and had tables in room for light snack/breakfast drink (fridge kept things nice and cold). I left some items behind and it was entered into lost and found and i picked it up on the way back. Kids used the pool on the first stay and were the only ones in it; it was clean and pleasant in a garden setting. There was a modest exercise room-basically treadmills. We ate at the Steak restaurant and the food was average but the wait staff excellent. On our final nite stay we didn't need to drop off our rental car until the morning of our flights. The rental (Alamo) was a quick walk from the terminal. We dropped off kids and 2 adults who waited at check-in while other two adults dropped off car (we had to check in by 9a and left the hotel a little after 8a and made it thru check-in, security etc with abt half an hr to spare!). While this isn't a Sheraton or Marriott it's a fine for the short stop, well priced, & staffed with helpful, friendly employees. Only draw backs are the beds, motel-like decor, low height, motel-like bathrm vanities. We moved rooms the first night because of an odd rattling noise w/ air conditioning and the move was made quickly by front desk staff. I wouldn't spend a lot of time here but it's fine for airport locale. Fresno didn't have much going on and was very hot. It was a two hr drive to Yosemite south gate entrance.

[...] We were staying only one night and only used the room to sleep after a full day at a family reunion. The place was clean and comfortable. We did hear a lot of creaking from the room above us but it was not too bad. This hotel is right near the airport too.

I went to Fresno to visit with my daughter and just needed a place to hang my hat for the night. The La Quinta was a very comfortable and quiet place to stay. The bed was huge, as was the tv. Staff was friendly and helpful. Upon check in I was handed my room key and the clerk made sure he told me the room # was on the envelope. As a single woman checking in, and another male guest behind me, I appreciated him not saying the # out loud.

The room we stayed in was nice and the bed was very comfortable. The room even came with a small back area (grass, decorative rocks, lawn chairs and an orange tree). However, we were warned that only the renovated rooms are nice. When I called and asked to be placed in a renovated room I was told that those rooms were an additional fee. Once the hostess realized I had booked through this site she upgraded me for free. I'm guessing it was because she knew that I would be asked to complete this review after my trip. It was a nice visit and we had no complaints.

Great rate for a big roomy apartment. Furnishings in the regular room are basic but quite serviceable. Having couches, an easy chair and balcony were great. Shuttle service is availible to the Elbow Room at no charge.

This room was what we expected. It was clean and comfortable. We had one issue when the shower head did not work. The front desk person wanted to argue about having it repaired. I persisted and got it repaired. All else was fine.

I read a few bad reviews about the hotel so I was a little nervous staying there, but my experience overall was decent. Great price for the room, bed was a little hard but everything worked. Nothing special good place to stay for only a night or two. Ac has a motion sensor which is kind of a pain but other and breakfast ins't much so do expect to eat there. Staff was very friendly and took care of any issues right away.

The hotel itself was very clean and nice. It sits beside/above a casino with homeless people begging in front of it. The incompetent receptionist when I checked in told me I could walk to Full Circle Brewery. Turned out it was a 2 mile walk through the worst part of town after dark. Run down buildings, people squatting in them, what looked like crack dens. Thanks for the advice. The Brewery was great though - just cab it. The staff is probably not all bad; I dealt with only one person.

The rooms are newly decorated with comfortable mattresses and bed linens, however the outside noise level is very loud from large underground parking garage vent fans just across the street from this hotel. Also, the rooms are too cold and there is no way to regulate the thermostat, a maintenance person had to use a ladder and manually turn the unit off for individual rooms.

We visited with family and friends and attended our niece's wedding. We visited Fresno in July 2009 and stayed in a less desirable hotel which cost almost as much. This was a lovely area and hotel close to everything. The only thing we would improve upon was the message light didn't work on the phone, which we discovered too late, and the hide-a-bed was broken. The breakfast was great; we had a kitchen and the bed slept well. We had lots of pillows. Great place to stay!

Convient, clean and wonderful staff. The breakfast was a little slim but with the limited available space it was acceptable. Again desk clerk was very nice. She gave me directions to places of interest to me. She was friendly and very helpful.
