Americas Best Value Inn

The hotel is the perfect to go around LA. And it offers relatively cheap price. Room is not so fancy but sufficient for a couple of nights to stay.

More or less what I was expecting. Not very nice but hey it was $69 in the heart of downtown and it came with free parking. Some efforts of updating have been made. Did'ne expect the refigerator & microwave in the room. that was a plus. More renov. details need to go.Staff although ...odd... was accommodating. We needed a no frills bed at a cheap price and that is what we got.

We were in L.A. for the Pac-12 Tournament and for the $, America's Best Value was indeed economical. And similar to prior reviews, the room was cleaned well (except for the floor which resulted in black-bottomed soles). But after that... watch out! You had to check out the remote control for the TV from the front desk; you had to check out a hairdryer from the front desk; and the advertised continental breakfast was quite sparse in terms of offerings. They do provide free wi-fi, but on average we needed to re-boot three times an hour because the signal was lost. The gentleman at the front desk also did not know how to direct us to the North on-ramp for the 110 Freeway and he lives there! Although they have HBO, there were no other cable channels except FoxSports West. Despite the affordability, we will not choose to stay there again. We would rather pay more to get more in this case. It's your call... but we believe you would do better elsewhere.

even though this was the cheaper hotel i can get what it is, it prefect for what you need to do in l.a. i recommend it and the staff was very friendly and help me a lot there

Very close to downtown district, a few blocks of walking on 7th ave. to Figueroa. Subway entrance on corner, visitors center nearby in old Wilshire Grand Hotel scheduled for demolition. Bus transport all around area. Area has a lot of historic old bldgs, shopping for all types, sports complex, and many varied restaurants including historic "The Pantry." Hotel/motel is horseshoe with one entry for vehicles, people, and secure. Light decent breakfast and staff is very friendly and helpful.

The room is extreme small, dirty and smell. The towels were old and dirty, the hot water was not hot at all.

Room was not cleaned nor ready upon arrival. Check-in time is 3:00. And I arrived at a quarter to six and was given nothing but excuses as to why the room was not prepared. Nor was I offered any type of subsidy for the inconvenience. But if you're spending most of your time in the downtown LA area. The location can't be beat!

Overall you are getting what you are paing for The rooms are clean, the staff is verry cooperative and nice, breakfeat is very limited

My mates and I wanted a cheap, no frills kind of place for a weekend trip to LA for a couple concerts. We didn't want to spend $200+ a night though, especially given none of us are picky about amenities or mints on the pillow or any of that get up. This hotel seemed to be cheapest place within ten miles of the Orpheum. I was a little concerned the neighborhood might be a little sketchy but it wasn't really bad at all. The beds were comfortable. The shower worked. The floor was all tile. The walls are paper thin however. This was a problem when the kid staying next door starting wailing nonstop. The parking is also fairly limited on site (about 15 spaces or so I think?), but we did manage to get a spot. The breakfast was some cereal, bread/toast, juice, coffee, bagel. Not the best, but for the price (free) . . . Was it perfect? No. Was it perfect for our needs? Other than the noise next door, yes.

Everything is good, but need to improve more to make it better.
