Palace Hotel, San Francisco

Hi, the halls of hotel were constantly full of dirty plates; all day long. Some of the furniture in the hotel were damaged; the tv was blurry; there was visible mold in the bathroom tile; the shower/tub did not drain properly. Should I go on??? this is a 4 or 5 star hotel? Hardly.

Great staff, beautiful hotel very upper end. You can walk to just about everthing you could need for a fun overnight trip to San Francisco.

This is absolutely one of the best locations in the city. The rooms are cleans, beds comfortable and the staff ok.

It was a good experience overall. Once you cross the $200 mark I feel you should be getting excellent attention to detail. Here are the flaws that prevented me from rating this hotel higher: - Checked in 6:30 pm Saturday evening. There was one person working at the desk, and there was a wait. - Door keys didn't work (and other people on line were waiting to resolve the same issue). No apology offered. - Found dirty washcloth over shower curtain. Stray hairs on floor. -No hair dryer in the room. - Wifi were pay-per-computer and expensive. - Walls were thin. Drunken guests in hall eventually subdued by hotel mgmt. Could hear other guests coughing etc. The location was great and it's a nice big old school hotel; there are a lot of weddings etc. so the noise issue may be a constant. If you want a good fallback hotel this is it.

I stayed 2 days here and had a wonderful time. The Holiday Tea was elegant, the staff very attentive and the location perfect for Muni or BART to get around town.

Perfect location, but the hotel facilities are disappointed. The worst experience was you woke up in the midnight by an incredilly loud noise when your nabour was taking a shower. when he/she turned off the water, it gave you a sound of explosion. Believe me, I'm not exaggering! I just coundn't figure out what made that unusual sound. The other thing I want to mention is that we had a room for two, but only one bottle of complementary water was provided everyday.

I love how it is historic and yet still remains a contender with any modern hotel. Gorgeous! I just wish it wasn't so expensive.

The location of this hotel is more like downtown than I thought, and hotel parking fee is as expensive as you can imagine ($48 or so), which I did not use. Hotel itself is kind of historical with a gorgeous lobby, but also a little old-fasioned. The sound of TV from the room next-door was a little annoying. The wall of the room is not thick enough, I guess. If you travel by public transportation and would like to enjoy downtown life of San Francisco, this hotel could be a choice.

The Palace Hotel was beautiful, convenient, clean, totally outstanding - too bad I only stayed 1 night. Congratulations to the great staff, hope to be back again.
