We rented the condo which was beautiful, nicely decorated and very comfy. Only downside is the walls are really thin and you can hear conversations from the next room

Our hotel experience started with the free hot tea by the fireplace in the hotel's lobby. The rest of the experience more than lived up to our expectations. The room was large (the bathroom -- on the smaller side), the bed was comfortable. I was at Steamboat Springs for a conference, but my partner was able to take full advantage of the fitness center, the pool, the hot tub, and the free shuttle to the slopes. (The hotel is about a mile away from the ski lifts.) The breakfast included with the stay consisted of the standard continental spread minus fresh fruit, but plus Belgian waffles. The rooms are cleaned and made-up every other day, but the hotel itself is very clean and comfortable.

Great ski in/ski out location! A spa in the hotel for a post ski massage would have been nice. But all in all, great experience. New renovations increased the experience!

We booked this hotel for a late Spring skiing vacation. The day we arrived was in the mid 70's and we were already feeling down about our chances of getting any good snow. The initial appearance of the Inn did not lift our spirits. It looks more than a bit dated. After checking in we had trouble with the key card reader getting into our room. The staff was very helpful and rushed to get us situated in our room and maintenance immediately began trying to fix the door lock. We left the room to run errands while they worked but they were unable to fix the lock and we were told that we would need to change to a different room. We had already unpacked and the staff were very apologetic. They offered us a room upgrade and showed us our options before helping us move our luggage to our new room. We ended up in a King room with a loft containing 2 twin beds. Although the weather did not cooperate and the snow conditions were atrocious, we had a very enjoyable stay nonetheless. That's due mostly to the fine staff at the Ptarmigan Inn. Once we acclimated to the older decor and the sparse amenities we really came to appreciate the cleanliness, the friendliness of the staff and the superb location. We would absolutely stay here on a future visit.

Right at the Gondola. Ski in/ski out does not get any better. The ski storage is steps from the slope and could not be any more convenient. The staff was friendly, the hot tub was nice with no hassles and they have a ski shop on site where I got a great deal on rentals. The room was average, but clean. Shuttle to town was close by, so no need for a car. Very enjoyable stay.

This is a nice condo complex in a good location with convenient shuttle service to the lifts. It is somewhat dated, the building is older, and the views from most units are marginal. Hot tubs and pool are small and crowded. Two of the four days, the pool was out of order. The kitchen was clean and well equipped. The master bedroom was large and well appointed. The second bedroom was small with uncomfortable beds. The two bathrooms were clean and in working order. The condo was relatively quiet. In conclusion, this is an average condo complex with above average staff at a fair price.

I went with several friends for a girls skiiing trip and we stayed at Timber Run. I have found some of the reviews written previously not helpful and not very specific so here's my take: 1) Accommodations: Dated but clean. We stayed at a 3bdrm/2bath and although clean, simple things were annoying like toilets that didn't flush well, old mattresses and thin pillows. Heating system that was difficult to regulate (I am from the south so I am very warm-natured but the heating system was too much for even me). We had to open windows and doors frequently. 2) Staff: This is where this places shines. We had people who were checking in at different times and the front desk was extremely accommodating for us. We found the front desk staff to be very friendly and helpful. I was a bit disappointed with the maid service. As they came only every 2 days, I was expecting a bit more they only replaced towels and took out trash, no vacuuming or making beds. They only did the two things I just mentioned. 3) Location to slopes: Very quick 2-3min shuttle trip. It is absolutely not walking distance in ski boots but the shuttle comes very frequently and it is not a problem. We actually rented our equipment at the mountain base and left it in storage at the mountain so it was not a problem for us. We did see that there was on site ski equipment storage at Timber Run if that's your preference. 4) Location to the center of town: Again not a problem. Shuttle runs very frequently until maybe 6pm. After that, you can call the front desk to have shuttle to come pick you up from your location. If it's after 11pm by chance, you will need to find alternate transportation. The city bus, which is free, can be used but be prepared for about a 1/3-1/4 mile walk from the nearest stop. Hope this helps folks!

Great value and beautiful views of the valley and ski hill from the balcony. No A/C so just be prepared to use lots of fans to keep it cooler. Pool is indoors which was good for our younger kids and we could watch them from the fitness room above the pool which was great. Outdoor hot tub is nice too. Couple of restaurants in walking distance and check in at the Torian Plum location was very easy before heading up to the condo building.

I would recommend this hotel for those travelling in groups, and in Steamboat for skiing. We travelled with extended family, and needed the 3 bedrooms, and were very happy to have a nice quality space, without the bustle of a busier hotel setup. The space was very quiet, peaceful, and comfortable. We were also happy that laundry was free. The only negative was the fitness center, whose equipment did not seem to work properly, but that was very minor for us.

The Highmark is a 5-Star resort! Originally I had booked the Sheraton Steamboat (which I had stayed at before... and really enjoyed-especially since it was ski-in/ski-out) but saw a special for a 2-BR at this resort! All I can say is from the moment I booked the Highmark, the service was top-notch! I received a phone call from the concierge asking for my flight information so that they could coordinate a shuttle to meet us at the airport. The resort utilizes Cadillac Escalades to shuttle us to-from the airport as well as a shuttle-bus for local trips. Anytime we needed to be picked up - one phone call and 15 minutes later someone from the resort was there! The rooms... OMG! Massive - well-appointed suites with beautiful furnishings, state-of-the-art appliances and electronics! I've stayed at some beautiful hotels & villas before (Westin/Marriott/St.Regis, etc) but this was definitely one of the best! The Resort - walkable to the lifts and no need for a car. Great location and full-functional with concierge (dinner reservations/activities/etc.)Nice touches like complimentary hot chocolate and apple cider in the lobby was great after coming in from skiing all day. Also - the units are equipped with massive kitchens but they do provide a continental breakfast! I highly recommend the Highmark to anyone!

The room was fine. Nothing special. The parking was about a half a block away, about 20 yards across loose gravel, up more than 20 stairs.

Nice condominum, a little odd on the top floor. The hallway roof is so low I have to almost stoop. But the room, though also quirky is nice. Great location with great view over the ski slope and the valley below.

It truly is a beautiful place....we arrived on Friday afternoon and took a dip in the pool. We were invited to a wonderful happy hour hosted by the lodge. The condo was immaculate and there was nothing you wanted or needed that was not provided. It felt like home...but only surrounded by the most spectacular setting. We really can't wait to come back.

This was a great place to stay in Steamboat! Very Cleab rooms, Loved the Kitchen and den. We went for a baseball tournie and this location was close to town & all our events! Loved the pool, 3 hot tubs & fitness center! Great area for grilling by the pool with a gas fire pit! We would stay here again! S Cowen

This was a perfect family getaway. Close to everything at the base of the mountain.

Great location! They take your skis to a storage room close to the gondola, you just have to cross the street to put your ski boots on and grab your skis and go. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful!

Nice room. Attended an in-hotel conference. Love the free wifi in the room. Our only problem was the restaurant.

Everything went just as smoothly as possible and it was a perfect weekend in the mountains for all four of us. Canyon Creek staff is so nice and accomodating and our unit was great in every way. We were able to cook with all the needed utensils and just enjoy Steamboat. Bravo to Canyon Creek.

we went with the kids over the new yr hols- great skiing- awesome place to stay very clean- good housekeeping- very cordial- only wish there was a better way to get to the outside hot tub- temp was -15 when we were there and no fun walking outside to get to the hot tub! walked to the Gondola everyday -shorter than waiting for the shuttle ride - great location for sure.

The Ski Inn 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo with loft was an excellent value. It was clean, comfortable, well appointed, and convenient We stayed during late July, There were three adults and two children in our party. We had plenty of room.

I was traveling with a friend and my 21yr.son. We all skiied and loved the ski in and out feature. Ski out required some work but not too bad. Everyone at the front desk was very helpful & friendly. The shuttle was a breeze to get around town and to grocery shop.

The location was ideal, within easy walking distance to the ski area and gondola. Restaurants, equipment rentals, and even a small grocery market are all right around the property. The unit was clean, well-equipped, and the service staff was superb. The only challenge was the fact that our unit was on the 3rd floor, and the stairs got tough for my 55 year-old legs, especially after a day of skiing.

Very Friendly & helpful staff, efficient check-in and check-out, very clean accomodations & well maintained property. The condo was so comfortable and roomy. Take time to wander in the town of Steamboat to visit the many shops and restaurants. Don't miss "Winona's Restaurant & Bakery" for Breakfast (or lunch.), visit the Hot Springs in town for some R & R, and take the gondola up the mountain and hike through the beautiful trails for some awesome sights!

Very nice condo for a very reasonable price. Location is very close to the ski area, and some good bars. The master bedroom of #111 had the largest bed I have ever seen. I felt like beheading Anne Boleyn after I slept in it :-)

The only thumbs down was no one was available to let us in at 1600. We finally got in at 1700. Otherwise it was a nice stay.

We had a wonderful stay at the Legacy Vacation Resort. Our one bedroom condo was very spacious with the master bdrm upstairs away from the living room/kitchen area. They have everything you need when away from home. The pool was a little cold and the hot tub a little too hot but otherwise and great place to stay.

A clean, secluded hotel about a mile from downtown. A good centralized location for both skiing and nightlife. The only issue was the you had to take a shuttle to use the hot tub which is at a different location. Nice staff too.

We stayed in Feb, 2012 over a long weekend at the "suites" location, not the hilltop location. The room was in great shape when we arrived. It is showing its age a bit with slightly older fixtures and so forth but no complaints since everything worked well & was clean. We had a king, queen, fold out bed, 2 bathrooms and a full kitchen with dining area; plenty of room for a family of 5 with 3 small kids. Since it is a full kitchen, not a kitchenette, we were able to have full meals and so forth and save on meals with a better family atmosphere. The staff was right on top of things; we had a minor lock issue of our own doing, and they sent someone over within 5 minutes. Note that the suite location has a spa / hot tub / sauna but the swimming pool is up on the hilltop location; we used all the facilities in both locations. The Legacy is not a spectacular modern resort, but it is well kept, clean and a fair deal. We were very happy and would return; just the savings on meals made up for the higher expense over a typical hotel in Steamboat. There is a shuttle running to the ski area (by the gondola) and can take you into town or to the other resort if you prefer to use that instead of a car.

We only stayed here for 2 nights but it was fine. Other than the A/C being loud (which seems to be the norm at most hotels) this hotel fit the bill. The price was average and it was in a good location to the mountain and surrounding activities. The sink was outside of the bathroom which is something we like. The toilet/tub area was a little tight but other than that it was clean. Would stay here again.

Very clean and proper. Quiet, they even have quiet hours which is very handy in a resort town where teens and college-aged people can party all night. I would certainly stay here again. Breakfast was not as good as other similar hotels, but sufficient.
