Orlando Vista Hotel, an Ascend Collection hotel

I booked a two-night stay at the Orlando Vista, because I had just spent a week attending a conference and wanted to extend my stay thru the weekend at a reduced rate. Although, I was looking to save money, I didn't expect this hotel to be so old looking, smelly and dirty. The drapes in the room actually had huge stains. The room furniture and bathroom are clearly very old and need updating. The electrical outlets were either very loose or didn't work. Since we checked in late in the day, we decided to stay the night and checked out the very next morning. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The only positive is that you are close to the Disney parks.

Excellent location. Clean room and bed, as expected for its value.

Staff was plesant, room and hotel was clean, overall a great trip. Only complaint would be the hotel cleaning\cover up smell, it was much better and less intrusive than other cheaper hotels in the area that usually have a musty odder also. We would stay here again its a great way to avoid the Disney property entrance traffic.

this was the worst hotel i have ever stayed at the staff were not nice at all the bathroom was nasty with hair in the bathtub no WiFi was available the air conditioner smelled like smoke when turning it on parking was very hard beds were very uncomfortable i could feel the bed springs under me had no sleep the whole time i was there and the wallpaper was ripping off the wall was moved two times to different rooms Because kids were drinking and haveing a party in the hallway and stuff did nothing at all after three pone calls to the front desk DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS HOTEL

I chose this hotel over less expensive hotels because they advertised having Shuttle Service to the Disney parks.(Parking at Disney is $14.00/day) Well, they do but it is limited and does not run all day. I checked in at 2:45pm and wanted to take a shuttle to the magic Kingdom to meet up with my daughter and her family. I was informed that the shuttle doesn't run to the park in the afternoons. I had to drive and pay the $14.00 parking fee. The rest of the shuttle schedule did not meet my needs. I had to be at Epcot on Saturday morning at 9am when it opens, but the first shuttle pickup was not until 9:30am. So the extra $20 that I paid for the room expecting shuttle service was wasted. Also, I paid $64.99 plus tax booking through Orbitz. When I arrived, the hotel sign was advertising rooms for $54.95. Another $10 overpaid by booking through Orbitz. Having said that, the hotel was fine. The room was very clean and well taken care of. The continental breakfast was good.

We chose to stay at this hotel because of its location and proximity to Disneyworld. It's within 10 minutes of every park and very convenient to get back and forth to each day. The customer service was excellent - everyone was very friendly. Had a continental breakfast each morning and a little gift shop where you could purchase the essentials if you ran out of things like batteries, swim goggles, etc. The pool was great for the kids. The building is in some need of repairs. The front entrance had some significant water damage to the overhang where you pull up to enter the hotel and blue tarps were hanging from it. When it rained, the water would pour through it and when I asked when they would fix it they said they had no idea since it was really expensive. The rooms were ok, but there was a smell in the hallways that never seemed to go away, much like a musty basement. I think that the staff did the best they could with a building that wasn't being maintained, but we didn't spend a lot of time there anyways so we didn't mind.

great hotel. Had shuttle busses to and from Disney World which saved us driving time and parking costs! Busses at convenient times. Nice drivers. Great, plentiful continental breakfast. Gift shop, pool, laundry. Had everything we wanted, why pay for a Disney Hotel. The only thing that kept this from being perfect is messy hallway, cereal on floor when moved into motel, dirty vanity. But in general maid service everyday usually cleaned at that time but morning when folks still in hotel!

WAS IN GREAT LOCATION FOR DISNEY WORLD UNIVERSAL WAS HARDER TO GET TO ALSO WAS OVERCHARGED FOR MICROWAVE AND MINI FRIDGE WAS TOLD 10 A NITE WAS CHARGED 65 FOR 5 DAYS TAX A LITTLE HIGH HOTEL WAS CLEAN FOR PRICE POOL WAS GOOD AND BREAKFAST WAS FAIR GET THERE EARLY VERY LONG LINES AFTER 830

I love this hotel and my kids enjoyed the pool it was a perfect area, everything is right there, gas, food, is a very nice place to stay,I loved it

Good - Nice to have shuttles to major Disney parks. - Close to some restaurants. - Continental breakfast included. Bad - Room has moldy smell. - No shuttles to other attractions. - Toilet didn't flush most of the time. - Always same food in breakfast and too crowdy. - Service was subpar.
