Family Spring Break
I stayed here the first week of April 2012 with a friend and my daughter so we could visit the beaches within driving distance nearby. Overall, I have no complaints. The staff was very nice. The room was like any hotel room at a Holiday Inn Express I've stayed in prior. Although there was no on-site restaurant or bar, there was a pool, and a Dunkin Donuts across the street (for coffee, because the coffee is horrible) and a gas station. I actually walked a couple blocks to the drug stores for sunblock and drinks, snacks, etc. I would stay there again with my daughter. They did have a baseball team there and the teenage boys were mildly annoying, but overall, again, no problems.

Go to the Mote Museum, Monday's are free. It is near St. Armand's Circle, which has so many great shops. We went shopping after the beaches and there are stores of all kinds for all budgets. If you go during a busy time like Spring break, then you may want to skip Siesta Beach during prime hours or decide to get there by 8 or 9am if you want a parking spot, otherwise, Turtle Beach is a great beach. Turtle Beach doesn't have the pretty soft sand and has a sharp drop, but I thought the water and setting was SO much better and had a LOT less people and more parking. There are many other beaches, although we didn't have time to go to all of them.

Our stay was a good one. However our room smelled musty. When we left I mentioned it and the clerk thanked me and said it would be taken care of. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was good.

Near Siesta Key
Drove to Casey Key/Nokomis--great beach that gets little traffic. Had dinner at Siesta Key--along with a segway tour to check out the Island. Enjoyed seeing the large version of the end of WWII kiss--located in Marina Park downtown.

Great location near the Interstate--SW of Sarasota. About 6 miles to either Siesta Key or Casey Key.

It was okay
You actually have to drive through a gas station to get to the parking lot, which is hidden behind it. The road that runs in front of the hotel is a 1 way, directing against the main road that you'd turn off of to get there. The room smelled funny, like old wet clothes. The toilet didn't flush and the handle was about to come off. First thing, I called the desk to fix the toilet, as we left to go to the beach (which is only 5 miles away). When we came back, the toilet was "fixed", but still didn't flush correctly. The room was quiet, which was good. The staff was friendly as well. Not really worth what I paid.

Great limited service hotel
Needed something relatively close to the airport that was clean and quiet. This was it. New, quiet, clean.

Visited family. Best free show in town was having our first two cups of coffee sitting outside on patio, watching a guy on oxygen chain smoking!!

Comfortable and clean...
I just needed a place to sleep for the night, but the staff was friendly and helpful at check-in. Room was fine - clean, large. Price was right. Right off the highway. Restaurants across the street for dinner. Dunkin Donuts right out front for tea drinkers! Exactly what I needed at a fair price.

Gecko's was a great little local restaurant the staff suggested. Cheap and good! Located right across the stree - you can walk if you want to from hotel.

Great Stay for the $$
Great Location. Walk to Dunkin Donuts; 1/2 mile to CVS/Walgreens. Gas Station right there. Close to expressway but no traffic noise; set back from busy street. Great Breakfast included.

geckos is great and the italian resturant was excellent that is on the same side of the street behind the wing place dont know the name of it
