Avia Savannah A HYATT HOTEL

I have been to many comparable hotels for much less money, staff was rude, room overlooked construction.

The hotel was lovely and the staff couldn't have been nicer.

The location of the hotel alone makes it worth staying there. It is right at Ellis Square, City Market and one block from the Lady and Sons and other great restaurants. It is also only 2 minutes from River Street. The staff are friendly and attentive. The buffet breakfast was excellent and the shrimp and grits lived up to the hype. The workout room was well stocked with water, fresh fruit and towels. My room was small but very comfortable and bottled water was provided each night.

This was a huge weekend and a amazing location! The staff was great and hotel beautiful. Food was excellent and the rooms were big and comfortable. Savannah is a beautiful city and the weekend was one to remember.

Location was very convenient to everything we wanted! Well kept and well appointed hotel.

The Avia is perfectly located making it easy to walk to a large variety of sites along the river and throughout the historic district. The staff was wonderful and everyone was quick to respond to our requests, which ranged from relocating our room to securing an umbrella during a torrential downpour. If you choose to stay at the Avia, I highly recommend spending a little more to upgrade to a Lux One Bedroom Hosting Suite; ours overlooked the pool patio and was perfect. Additionally, if you have a car, I recommend purchasing visitor parking passes from the Visitor's Center ($12 for two days of parking) and park in the garage next to the hotel. If you are there for more than a couple of days, it is well worth spending part of a day on Tybee Island, Hilton Head, or some of the other great areas that are a modest drive from Savannah.

AVIA was an excellent choice for my stay in Savannah. It is located so close to River St and Historic sites. The staff (from the valets and doormen to the manager) actually made the visit most enjoyable. We were always greeted with friendly smiles and tons of hospitality. I felt very welcome there. The bed and pillows were well worth the value. Just Dreamy!!

Great experience once again! We stayed at the Savannah Avia Hotel last year because of the proximity to the restaurant where we were having our office Christmas party. We had so much fun last year that we made sure to book another restaurant close by so we could stay at the Avia again. Great location, wonderfully appointed room, cool bar downstairs- we are looking for any excuse to stay again!

Most of the amenities advertised were not available to us. The hotel pool deck/ hot tub were locked off...none of the staff knoew how or offerred to access it for us. There was no coffee available at their "restaurant". I begged several waitstaff persons for coffee and they produced one cup of black coffee after 30 minutes..at $5.50! (because they are not self-service, I was told) . The instant stuff in the room is awful. The maid did not have any that wasn't decaf on her cart. The balcony is about 2 feet wide and when you step out onto it, you are blasted by hot air from the air conditioners from 2 rooms. No room to sit and look at the"view" of the river, which you have to practically fall off to see. Balcony in not useable! The staff was nice, but seemed not to be able to help with any of the concerns we expressed. I was very disappointed in this hotel. Hope Hyatt sends a manager from New Orleans..they always have good coffee there!

The Avia was a modern and well appointed hotel with a gracious staff. The location is perfect with easy access to the riverfront and the historic district. We look forward to returning soon.
