Castle Waikiki Grand Hotel

Room was ready at exactly 3pm, and not a second before. Turned out our room was still dirty. After settling into our "new" room, we were disgusted. Looks nothing like the mediocre pictures we settled for. Staff was unfriendly. The room looked like a big lots ad for dorm room furniture. Our floor wasn't leveled, or wasn't stable. The pool was dirty and green from the view of our room. Our unstable a/c unit was on the corner of the window, so you were able to stick your hands out, and lovely blood sucking mosquitos were able to enter your room. There was foil and extra glass underneath the a/c unit for who knows what reason. The sliding bathroom door lifted up, not giving much privacy. There was a good sized beam in the middle of the room, thankfully though, not blocking the tv lol. The bugs behind the floor level window smushed up against the wall was the icing on the cake. The ONLY good thing about this hotel was the convenience of location being so close to the beach.

This hotel is at the perfect location, you can walk right down to the beach. If you like the zoo.... It's literally right across the street. We stayed in room 911, the a. Didn't cool the room off very well. I got kitchenette- there was only a microwave and refrigerator. The room didn't look anything like the pictures. But it was a very nice hotel. Hotel pool was dirty, didn't use it.

At first I was excited by the location the room was adequate nice small fridge stovetop with 2 burners microwave. A bed and 2stools no chair. There was a 5 inch pipe in-between shelfing for hanging clothes maybe 4 items and 2 of these so you could only hang 8 items ocean view rooms have no lanai the side with a lanai faced the back of other hotels with a people view only. Biggest issue was first night when I returned to the room there were cockroaches and ants all over. Over my stay I had to keep my laptop away from the ants. This is a condo building with rentals each one can be different but the bugs are throughout you can bet. All in all not really worth the price. Much nicer were close by for $20 more it woukd have been worth it. Staff was oozing Aloha.

This hotel was great! The location is awesome its a block back from Waikiki beach and across the street from the Honolulu Zoo. The room was great, it had a mini kitchen with all the equipment you need to cook, including two mini fridges, microwave/toaster oven, pots/pans, plates, cups, etc. The hotel was beautiful with very nice staff. The only thing that i would consider a down fall is that they don't offer room service every day, so if you need something you would have to go down to the main desk and request items. That is a very minor issue though we were their 7 days and only had to go down once. Overall I was very happy with the stay and will definitely be staying there the next time we visit.

It has the amenities that allow it to check the boxes (e.g., microwave, stove, refrigerator, etc.) but the rooms have not been remodeled in 30 years and the peeling baseboard pain is proof.

Convenient location. Minimal service - no housekeeping. Friendly front desk staff but little done to assist with issues. Wireless internet available

I stayed at this hotel for its location and very low pricing. From reviews that I have read I learned that this a hotel of individually owned properties that are rented as hotel rooms. It is hit or miss if you are going to get a wonderfully restored room or one in poor repair. I did not win the lottery. My carpet was dirty and stained, the furniture was hodge podge and my tv was dying. My biggest concern on cleanliness was when I started getting ill on day 5 of my stay. I checked the air conditioner and found the filter full and black spots around the vent that looked like mildew.

Many of the rooms at the Waikiki Grand are privatly owned, and each has been changed over the years. Some have kitchens, and some don't. The exclusive 10th floor rooms share a large patio, with unparralleld views of Diamondhead and the Waikiki Zoo. There is simply no better location in Waikiki, with a fantastic nightclub on the 2nd floor, a convenience store on the first, and a world class burger joint in the lobby. Underground parking and large laundryroom. All this at the best price in Honolulu.

Great room only thing that was band was the room service(cleaning of the room).
