HYATT PLACE WAIKIKI BEACH

The Hotel is 1 block away from the (overcrowded) beach and loud promenade, so it is very good situated. Better to take a high floor room with a kitchenette (far away from a real kitchen), other rooms are more a "hole". The hotel is max 2 stars even in the better rooms. Thin walls everywhere and a lot of groups and more backpackers than business people - low cost hotel in Waikiki. We spend 3 quiet nights after sending security to our neighbors. Special wishes like request of 2 beds will be ignored, even if confirmed by the mother company 2 months before. Rollaway very bad, put the mattress on the floor, which was ok. Recommended for 1-3 nights, not for longer (as whole Waikiki).

Initially I was not wild about staying at this end of Waikiki as we usually stay closer to the center, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quiet comfort of this newly revamped hotel. The room was appointed with a very comfortable king size bed and we had an alcove with a sofa bed and TV. The room was spacious, the entire hotel clean and the staff was very attentive and friendly. The best thing about the hotel was the free breakfast buffet; not because it was free, but because the food was excellent- a favorite was the biscuits with egg and bacon! Multiple juices, waffles, fresh fruit, danish, bagels, a very nice offering of a variety of foods, all served on an open lanai on the pool deck. The only thing lacking at this hotel was the cold and small pool, but who really comes to Hawaii to use the hotel pool when a great family beach is nearby? I would highly recommend this property, especially for families, as I have stayed in other hotels towards the center of Waikiki and had to put up with noise from the streets and nearby nightclubs.I think the hotel is appropriately priced and an excellent value!

We had a very pleasant stay at Hyatt Place Waiiki. Staff, rooms and location are nothing to complain about. Breakfast Manu is same every morning but there are enough items to choose from. Great value overall. Will stay there again.

The staff at this hotel is incredible. The staff go out of their way to make sure you are taken care of. The free breakfast is excellent, offering many options. You can definitely get off to a great start and save money for other meals out. The hotel was family friendly and comfortable. Nice workout area and a small outdoor pool right next to the breakfast area. The rooms were very clean, spacious and quiet. I would definitely go back and recommend the Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach hotel to friends.

Staff was friendly and very helpful. Beautiful lobby and coffee bar. Rooms airy and spacious. Step in shower with rain faucet. Great location in the heart of Waikiki, downtown Honolulu.

Since becoming a Hyatt, what a difference! The front desk area is spacious, clean and uncluttered with lots of comfortable seating in the lobby. There were ample computers and a printer for guest use. The two elevators were a little slow. The wait felt a little long but once in, your key card has to be swiped before button push and you are jetted to your floor. On the 11th floor, the room was gorgeous. A king bed, am ample sofa with hassock, a mini refrigerator, a serving tray -in case you have food in the room, a 47 inch TV , 4 drawers, a desk with chair, small bedside counters each side with a lamp and two sockets so convenient for cellphone charging, a cozy balcony with two chairs for relaxing in the breeze all strike you when you first walk in. There was no printed information provided on what to do in Hawaii, etc. The bathroom was small but clean and austere. One could not be sitting on the toilet and try to close the door. Your knees would be in the way! There was a switch that turned on the bath fan but it would stop too soon. Would have been better if one could control the on and off of that fan. The shower door was of heavy glass and was a little hard to slide. An elderly or weak person could have a problem. When slid too hard, it would thump and it seemed the walls of the room vibrated from it. The shower stall could have more accomodation for shampoo bottles, razors, gel soaps, etc. The one little triangular rack in the corner was too small. Adequate for one person but not 2 or more. The shower head was good and the single control valve understandable but one got a cold blast of water when first turning the water on! The white towels were thick and fluffy. One can get towels bigger than room towels for the beach at poolside Liked their green policy of reusing ones towels for 2 days before they are routinely changed on day 3. The bathroom sink was clean with two types of bar soap, a tube of shampoo and a tube of hair conditioner. Why no lotion of any kind?!. The counter area of the sink was small and we lacked space to keep a cosmetics bag adequately. Toothbrush stuff did okay. Under sink shelves housed a very strong hairdryer and extra wash cloths and hand towels and that is where we stored cosmetics,bath supplies etc that could not be placed on the counter. The clothes closet was small but adequate for us. There was only one suitcase rack provided. We loved the complimentary breakfast on the 3rd floor near the pool! One can help yourself from a large bowl of assorted fruits , dollop yogurt, cottage cheese etc. Toast your own bagel, white, and whole wheat bread, drink assorted fruit juices, skim and 2% milk, have some oatmeal with brown sugar, raisins, etc. For hot foods, there was biscuit with sausage, cheese and egg daily and alternately waffles, pancakes or french toast. For part of a japanese breakfast there was miso soup and one could add white rice, tofu cubes, seaweed, red ginger or shredded radish. Coffee, regular and decaf, hot water for the assortment of teas offered and all the additives topped it off. This was a wonderful amenity!
