Island Colony Hotel

The people at the reception desk were the only thing that was great. You have to wait forever for the elevator.The cleaning staff would clean the room while you were it. The air conditioner made a weird sound that kept you awake..

We were given a room on the 44th floor with a perfect view of Diamond Head. We could see the ocean betweenh the other hotels. We had 2 queen size bed and a refrig and micro wave as well as a coffeemaker. There wase abeautiful pool and a laundramat and store on premise. It was an absolutely amazing room for the price. I would recommend it to everyone even if they did not get the 44th floor. All of the staff was friendly and very helpful.

The room was horrible. The bathroom was tiny, the door wouldn't even open all the way, the tub faucet leaked and the bathroom looked like it wasn't cleaned. The lamps in the room barely worked. The A/C sprayed water out from it's side so everytime we stepped onto the balcony we would step on wet carpet and get sprayed with water from the a/c. Horrible hotel.

The bathroom was too small. Parking was so expensive, $25 a day. We had to get toilet paper from front desk. We were accused of putting garbage in front of our door which we never did. Not too good experience.

Cleaning needs improvements Cleaner only cleaned if you mention it to them. Eg. Carpet needs vacuuming.

- Bed, shower, balcony, pool, convenient store, laundry facility. - Very basic and cost of my 1wk there wasnt so bad if that's what you're looking for. I was able to walk to everything I needed/wanted. - Our tv remote didnt work and our A/C didnt cool the entire room. - Parking is $25/day for guests, ouch. - My balcony overlooked the Ala Wai golf course and i was able to tan in the morning since the sun shined directly through my balcony in room 1211 by 730am.

Within walking distance to restaurants, shopping, beach, tours and convenience stores.

The hotel was under construction, sections of the parking garage were closed. We had to get in one elevator to another to get to our room, it was a hassle. We were not happy with the hotel , the only positive thing was the location.

Its OK...the air condition is too noisy, I have to shut shut it off. Bed is noisy. Good location.

The Island Colony is in a great location to get access to Waikiki and all that it has. It is the most basic of accommodations and pretty dated in most of what it has to offer. It was a good valur and some place I would likely stay again if I were by myself. It was clean, but the rooms and property in general are much older ad in need of some updates. My sister stayed in the same property and she rented one of the private condos. That was a much nicer, and more updated room with a great view. Parking was available on property, but was a bit pricey at $25/day. Since the property is split between private ownership (condos) and the hotel, it really depends on which room you get. Not a bad place at all, just a bit dated.
