We picked this properly with very little planning. I knew of the area from being here in the past (years ago) for meals. Paid probably retail for our King sized room. It was a ocean view, but come to find out that it really faces the pool and not much of the ocean. I needed to be higher to see the actual ocean. I was on the 6th floor. Higher floors are supposely reserved for the time share people. So, right off the bad, I felt like a second-class citizen. But, I do have to say that the staff have been tremendously helpful and as accommodating as they can. We loved the fact that it's quiet, and away form the craziness of Honolulu and Waikiki. This is a great place to relax. But, we weren't too impressed with the food. We didn't go to Chuck's, since the description doesn't make it sound too special. And the Long Board place was just averge bar food type, with ingredients probably all purchased from Costco. Plus, we weren't surprised with the high cost since it's on the hotel property. So, what we ended up was to drive outside of the property--as far as back to Honolulu for the real good island/local foods. We didn't mind that at all, since once we get back to the property, we get to relax. The gym was nice, and we really enjoyed the walking path along the laguns and outside for running. Of course, the Oahu weather was simply gorgeous, even though it was a bit windy around the end of the year. Lastly we weren't too impressed with the lagoons. They sure all look very nice. But, we went into the water and it smelled funny, like sewage smelling. And the water felt stale for some reason. It just didn't feel like the real ocean water. For real Hawaii ocean experience, we went up to North Shore a couple of times and that was 10 times better. But, if you just want to layout on the sand near your room, the Lagoon is the best bet. Just don't into the water and expect fresh ocean water.
If you want some quiet time for a couple, this may not be the perfect place because there are plenty of kids and it gets very noisy during the day. But, if you do have kids, bring them! All the kids seemed to be having a great time in the pools.
Anyway, over all, this property is a great get-away from the busy Honolulu. Very manicured and nicely maintained. When coming here, you may also want to compare with the other properties like JW or Disney. And if you're a time-share person, it's better value than a "hotel" person. We enjoyed our times here.

The hotel property is beautiful and clean. It is a perfect setup for children. It is a very private location. If you are looking for overwhelming service this is not the place but the staff is very nice and helpful.

The Beach Villas were so relaxing!! We have been to Hawaii several times as we have daughters that live there. The villa we rented could not have been a better choice to stay. On this trip we took my father in law and the 2 bedrooms were absolutely perfect. My grandchildren had a ball in the pools and had plenty of room to play in the main living area. I cooked thanksgiving dinner in the gourmet kitchen for 12 of us!! The staff were excellent and always cheerful and very very helpful every time!! I would definitely stay again and again!!

I had a great time with my family at the Disney Aulani. The resort is amazing and we really enjoyed the pool, waterslides and lazy river. There is something for everyone. Aunty's Beach House is perfect for the little ones and when parents need a break. The food is great especially at AMA AMA.
You can also swim with the sting rays, if you want to. Disney truly has captured the essense of Hawaii at this resort. Oh, and the beach is beautiful and it seems so private. The staff all demonstrate the Aloha Spirit. I will be returning for sure.

the hotel is located in vicinity of Disney resort, private lagune and exclusive beach access are great.
Far from Waikiki and transportation cost a lot , so if you plan to party the cab both ways would be $170-180.
Hotel has a shuttle, however last pick up time from Waikiki is 9:30 pm and no later. This location is perfect for honeymooners and ppl who enjoy the privacy greatly. For others- try to find something close to Honolulu.
Amenities are great ,food is pricy if u dont have all inclusive option.

The location is wonderful and most beautiful.
The food is good and very expensive, so, come prepared.
We were surprised at he "incidental costs" that you were charged for even though you did not utilize the services provided. For instance, you were provided one hour access each day to the snorkeling equipment and canoeing and several other nice services, but if you didn't use them you were still required to pay the $25/day charge. We would like to have been made aware of this fact upfront. Overall it is beautiful facility.

I thought the hotel was nice, not fantastic as the price would indicate, but nice. The view from the room was fabulous. The breakfast buffet was great, but overpriced at $25 each. The hotel charges you $25 a day for their amenitities, whether you use them or not and each "activity" cost, except the beach or pool. We did not do anything except snorkel and go into the water. But the location on the North Shore is wonderful and is close enough to Honolulu but far away from all the crowds. That being said, everything is over-priced in Hawaii!!

Sie können sich wie daheim fühlen im Royal Waikiki Condos. Das freundliche, zuvorkommende Personal an der Rezeption und vom Zimmerservice wird das Bestmöglichste tun, damit Sie einen fröhlichen und angenehmen Aufenthalt verbringen. Die Ultra Deluxe Zimmer befinden sich im 18.-28. Stock und die Deluxe Zimmer im 14.-17. Stock. Die Suiten mit einem Schlafzimmer wurden so entworfen, dass die Schlafzimmer tagsüber entweder abgetrennt werden können oder offen bleiben, womit für eine größere Geräumigkeit gesorgt wird. Durch das Schließen der Schiebetüren können Sie jederzeit ein komfortables und ruhiges Schlafzimmer schaffen. Alle Zimmer sind ausgestattet mit einem Sofabett, welches tagsüber als Sofa benutzt werden kann. Nachts kann es dann zu einem schmalen Doppelbett umgebaut werden. Vom Lanai aus kann man das Meer, die Berge, Diamond Head und die wunderschöne Stadt Waikiki erblicken. Für jede Buchungsänderung fällt eine Gebühr von 35,00 USD an. Bei Aufenthaltsverlängerung wird nur der zusätzliche Tagespreis verlangt. Für zusätzliche Personen über die Zimmerbelegung hinaus wird pro Tag und pro Person eine Extragebühr von 20,00 USD verlangt. Zusätzliche Gebühr von 10,00 USD zuzügl. Steuern pro Tag für Parken. Alle Gebühren werden beim Einchecken verlangt. Einchecken um 16 Uhr am Nachmittag und Auschecken bis 10 Uhr morgens. Beim Einchecken sind ein Lichtbildausweis und die Buchungsbestätigung erforderlich. Advertized as "one bedroom" but only had an inexpensive accoridian folding partition. AC unit blew directly on pullout hide-a-bed and throughout the unit there were notices that said "BIG FINE" if you move ANY furniture or break even a glass. They had a huge inventory of the items listed in the room to be marked off. Over all, this gave it an un-home like feeling. Pool did not look inviting but it was clean. Nice staff ,but off at 5pm so no night time help at all!

Great location on Waikiki with 1-block walk to one of the World's best beaches. I did a lot of snorkeling here and saw an octopus, angel fish, moorish idols, humuhumunukunukuapua'a, plus many others. My husband plays "Aloha Santa" on the beach much to the delight of many international travelers. We both like to people-watch and there is no other place quite like Waikiki Beach.

We spent one night at the Waikiki Resort Hotel and everything was positive. From the 17th floor we had a balcony and ocean view. The room was very clean, the bathroom was recently renovated and modern. Staff very nice and helpful. Great location only 1 block from the famous shopping strip and 2 blocks from the beautiful beach. Anyone in a hotel in Waikiki should realize that if your hotel window is open, noise from the street can be a problem. From the 17th floor we slept fine; but you can always close the window and use air conditioning. All around pleasant stay.

The location was perfect for us- just two blocks from the main beach road. The room had a decent view of an inlet and golf course and a pretty night view of the lights of Honolulu. The downside was the fact that the room was pretty aged and the A/C wasn't that great considering it was a window unit. Overall, it was a great stay and for the price, you can't beat it. Just beware that you are not heading for luxury when you rent this condo.

Problems: 1. Hotel is near Alawai St., even though I was on 19th floor, I still could not stand the noise. It made me difficult to slep. 2. Hotel provided some towels, but of cheapest quality, it felt like rag. You can get decent bath towel at JC Penny or Sears for under $10. I think the management should not scrimp on this. 3. The bedroom and living room are smelt old. A new coat paint or some cheap cabinet would make it acceptable. 4. I had to kill some ants a few times. I would rather take my chance next somewhere else.

We've just returned from our vacation in Waikiki.While there we stayed at the Aloha Surf Hotel.Overall ve had a great stay,good and well kept room,friendly and helpfull staff,excellent services.The hotel is a 5 minutes walk to the beach and 2 minutes from the nearest ABC store.Starbucks and restaurant are also within a 5-7 minutes walk.I consider this hotel a great value for the money you pay and would definitely come back.

- Bed, shower, balcony, pool, convenient store, laundry facility.
- Very basic and cost of my 1wk there wasnt so bad if that's what you're looking for. I was able to walk to everything I needed/wanted.
- Our tv remote didnt work and our A/C didnt cool the entire room.
- Parking is $25/day for guests, ouch.
- My balcony overlooked the Ala Wai golf course and i was able to tan in the morning since the sun shined directly through my balcony in room 1211 by 730am.

We wanted to stay outside of the hustle and bustle of Waikiki, the location of this hotel put us exactly where we wanted to be. Close enough to walk and enjoy all Waikiki has to offer but beachfront on a quiet beach with quiet evenings. (We also stayed in Waikiki at another hotel for a conference and were woken by sirens and delivery trucks each night). We stayed in the "less ideal" Diamond Head wing. The rooms were slightly outdated in terms of decoration but were still equipped with flat screen TVs and WiFi and clean. The king bed was the biggest letdown as it was two twins put together. You could feel the seam between beds if you laid in the middle. All in all, a great value. We were very happy with our stay. Please note: The hotel does not have a pool, which may be a deal breaker for some.

We really enjoyed our Diamondhead view room of this boutique hotel. Slide open the door to the deck, and let all the tropical air and sounds inside. Walking distance to the entire Waikiki area. Highly recommended for those who want to experience Honolulu without the Disney/consumer feel of the west end of Waikiki.
We opted to park on the street, had no problems with metered parking. Hiked Diamondhead, stunning views.

I went to my nephew's wedding. The hotel took care of giving a map directions of interest. Pleasant room and all commendatons. The weather was windy but warm and it did not stop anything. I went to alot of shopping plazas swap met little boutiques marvelous. Then of course there was the lusu. It was hard to leave the people are outstanding and kind.

The Courtyard Marriott in Waikiki is in a great location just a few blocks from the beach and is close to many restaurants and shops. The one bedroom suite was wonderful as it provided a little privacy and the fold-out sleeper sofa worked great for our twelve year old daughter. The hotel provided dishes and silverware. So, with the use of the kitchenette, we were able to prepare and eat most of our breakfasts "in" which saved us some money. A few of the activities that were highlights of our trip were: snorkeling at Hanauma Bay (we purchased our snorkel gear at Sam's Club which saves money over rental prices if you intend to snorkel more than once during your visit), hiking to Manoa Falls, riding polo ponies on the beach on the North Shore, and taking a whale watching cruise (if you don't take a cruise, you may see many whales near Diamond Head just viewing from the roadside...in any case, bring binoculars). I didn't anticipate enjoying Oahu as much as the other Hawaiian islands I've visited since I prefer nature over skyscrapers, but I loved Oahu for all of it's natural beauty. There was so much more to do and see than we were able to in our one week visit.

Initially disappointing when viewed the room, placed on a smoking floor - didn't know they had those anymore! This hotel is budget friendly, but a little on the shabby side. I originally booked it because there was a kitchenette. However without a car, there is no close grocery store. However there are inexpensive options for eating out. Front desk staff was absolutely marvelous from the get go.

When I arrived they could not find my reservation, which had been made through and confirmed by a well known travel site (O). There was a long wait, but they did find a room. Area is very commercial/industrial but close to airport and very convenient if that is a priority. The room was fine, very clean, good value. On-premises restaurant not open every day.

The hotel value was hard to beat. The parking was pretty tight and scarce and there was no pool. Also the bathroom was beyond tiny. On the good side the hotel is centrally located and the views from the hotel balcony of the Ala Wai canal are gorgous. all and all i would recomend the hotel to someone who doesnt plan on spending much time in the room.

hotel wasnt what i expected. when i went on line to book it specifically stated click here for photos of room i was booking for...., well when i checked in and room didnt look nothing like i previewed online he stated " pictures are for deluxe suite "
well nothing said preview deluxe suite pictures. there was no accomodations made with the mix up.
then i did not know there was a bar below our room and up until closing which was 4 am band was so loud it sounded like they were partying next door.
my stay was not pleasant at all for my family and sad to say i will not recommend it to anyone, or be booking at all ever again for that price.

The staff was fantastic and very helpful. Convenience of shopping, food, beach right in front! The city bus stop was right in front and the trolley just around the corner! The Zoo next door, Diamond Head just next stop, everything was just where I wanted it, which is why I chose this hotel! My only complaint was no laundry facilities at this location, I had thought I had looked that up on this hotel site, missed that greatly. Oh well. The staff was great and made up for this one oversight.

We had a wonderful time at this hotel. We had oceanview rooms with terrific views of Diamond Head and the beach. The beach was very close (just across the street) and a lot of restaurants and shops were very close by as well. It is within walking distance of the free Hula show on the beach. The only negative things were the air conditioning (quite noisy), no microwave in room, and you must inform the staff on dates that you do not use the valet parking or else you will be charged. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel especially if you want a great value without the high price.

The hotel restaurant was closed for repairs/revovation (?). I don't konw but I understand that is necessary at any facility over a period of time. What I don't understand is the hotel's refusal to help guests find a replacement resuaurant . I am a diabetic and need to have food on a regular basis. This hotel is located in a light industrial area where restaurants are few and far between. The hotel staff offered no help Since I had no car I was told I would have to walk or call a cab to get to a restaurant with no specific receommendation as to where i should go. I ended up walking. conconsderable

it was OK except that there is no elevator and i had to carry both my heavy suitcases upstairs on steps. rooms are small. free shuttle bus and the male driver was friendly. you can see the airport and you can also hear them. free wifi and a nice small pool for a swim. overall it was for a stopover.

We were greeted by friendly and helpful staff and checking in was easy. Parking was an additional $15.00 per day and on first come, first served basis due to inadequate parking stalls. We had a one bedroom suite with kitchenette, two balconies, which provided ample space for up to three people. But the rooms were a little outdated but comfortable. There was only one elevator throughout which caused a lot of inconvenience especially during the morning hours while housekeeping were on the floors because of the minutes waiting to get the elevator. So taking the stairs would be the only other option. There was another hotel directly across being remodeled so sleeping in was problematic with all the construction noise. But a good stay nonetheless.

We wanted to be in Honolulu for one night and picked the Aqua Lotus from the list on the Orbitz hotel suggestions after booking our flight. We received a great discount on the price, but not a discount on the room comfort and staff attention. The Aqua Lotus is a good walk from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki, which was what we wanted. Diamond head was right out our window and the ocean was just a few steps from the front door of the hotel. We only stayed one night in this hotel, before moving on to another island. But if we were staying on Oahu longer, the Aqua Lotus would be the hotel we'd choose. You'll love it...promise!

This hotel was clean, staff was friendly, and great location. Amazing view of Diamond Head! The only drawback was that being on the main drag, if you had a window open at night you could hear the trolleys and other noises (people yelling/laughing, etc...).

The view we had was first class. Couldnt be better, staff also were wonderful. But only had half of the blinds in our bedroom, the other half must have broken off at some point and never been replaced. Our tv didnt work also. Those things were worth putting up with due to the view but would have been nice to have had those things fixed or replaxed. Also bed mattress should be replaced. Very old and not very comfortable. But other then that it was a very nice hotel in a great location.
