Get the ocean view.
Probably the best ocean view of any hotels that I have stayed in Hawai'i. The whales were active, January, and we could sit on our 7th floor lanai (fancy word for balcony) and watch the show.

More than expected.
This was a really nice place just a little basic. I actually didn't realize we signed up for the breakfast package which made it a great value in the end. If you're going to be out and about, this place is great. If you're just going to hang at the hotel, it might get a little old.

Monkey Pod was awesome. Great food and hand made drinks, 34 draft beers, view and value. Actually enjoyed better than 3 other top hotel restaurants that were easily 4x as expensive.

Perfect stay between the years
Here you can have nice rooms next to the beach. Better value than the hotels in the close neighborhood. Watching whales from the restaurant balcony at breakfast early in the year is great.

Super Location
Wailea is a great spot and this is a lovely resort in most ways. I'm not wild about the floors having no carpet on them and some of the wait staff were definitely better than others. It would also be great if there were more slides for kids like the Grand Wailea has next door. But, for the most part, this was a great spot. Also, it was *great* having a Starbucks right on the campus!

Maui at Christmas time
It was weird being in Hawaii at Christmas. The hotel was nicely decorated for the holidays with Christmas trees, garland and a bunch of poinsettias. We went the week before Christmas and it got busier and busier as the Christmas weekend arrived. The hotel, spa, pool and staff were nice. One bad thing was a $30 per day "resort fee" that was tacked on the bill. Why not just charge $30 more per room and avoid this shakedown fee? Also, there was an optional $30 per day valet parking fee. Skip it and park the car yourself in their garage. For thirty bucks I can walk a block.

beautiful and relaxing honeymoon
The hotel is in such a fantastic location! We were overwhelmed by the beauty of the beach walk and sunsets. We walked every morning and evening, and spotted many humpback whales. Even though our room was a garden view room, we could plainly see the ocean from the table and chairs just outside. The room was very comfortable and the many pools (one with waterslides) were convenient. We enjoyed the open air concept of the hotel common areas and went to Starbucks a lot. We mostly went to Wailea Beach because it was closer to the end of the hotel where our room was located, but liked the lower-key vibe at Ulua Beach. Our only negative feedback on the hotel has to do with the resort fee, which essentially just covers parking and one free coffee (for the entire stay, not per day). It didn't even cover wireless internet, which is an additional $15 per day (yet free at most resorts). My husband was irritated by the way we were being 'nickeled and dimed." But, like I said, everything else was great. If the resort fee could be eliminated (and maybe worked into the price of the room) or at least include more, it'd be the perfect place to stay.

Kihei Caffe was recommended to us by a window washer at the Shops at Wailea as a reasonably priced breakfast spot. We loved it! It's located across from the beach, seating is outdoors, staff is friendly, and there's a wide variety of menu options.

perfect location
The hotel is fantastic, the grounds are beautifull and the pools look out on the ocean. The grounds are well maintained with flowers and trees.

Kihue is the best place for shopping and eating- the mall is a short walk from the hotel and also has good resturants.

A fabulous getaway in paradise!!
This hotel is great from couples that need a getaway in paradise to families with children. The resort has everything you need on site. From the adult only pool to the chidren's pool with cool waterslides, and the beach just steps away. Its truly paradise!
