Horrible.
Room not clean and bathroom stool didn't work. Staff was put out that I memtioned it. Never been so unhappy at a Firfield Inn.

Clean and conveniently located
We planned and attended my grandmothers memorial. Typically we stay at the Econolodge, however, we wanted a place that had a swiming pool for my son. Unfortunately we didn't use the pool or the hot tub. The continetal breakfast was good. Our time in the hotel was spent sleeping, napping and a little of bit of tv.

Clean and friendly
Found the place clean, but very ordinary. Reasonably comfortable bed, nice assortment of pillows of different firmness, (I tend to be pickier about pillows than beds). Staff was nice, and helpful when I had a couple of questions. Room was well cleaned. Been a while since the last refresh, the whole place was a little worn around the edges. Bath and shower showed a lot of wear, but quite clean and strong hot water flow. Room layout not particularly business friendly. Desk was awkward for real work. Convenient, lots of franchise food within walking distance, WalMart across the parking lot. All in all, not a 4-star stop, but a nice, clean, friendly, decent value. I can't imagine there's anything much better within a 100 miles. :)

Big Disappointment
I've never written a hotel review before, but I was so disappointed with our stay last week (November of 2009) that I want to warn other travellers. If mattress comfort is important to you, do not stay at this motel!! My husband and I both spent a restless night on a smooshy, way-past-its-prime, flat mattress. (room 211). Interesting because the first words out of my teenage daughter's mouth when I woke her up the next morning was "What a terrible mattress, I didn't sleep very well last night." That's when I decided to write. There were a few other things that were disappointing as well (indifferent service at breakfast - great food but no-one to restock the forks, etc.) We drive by Emporia once a year but we won't be staying at this Fairfield Inn again.

Great room. Great Price.
This is a nice, clean hotel with a friendly attentive staff. The room was spacious and comfortable. Everything was clean, and we were able to relax there and rest well. The hotel is surrounded by restaurants of all price ranges and Starbucks is right next door. The belgian waffle maker on the breakfast buffet was a happy surprise!

The beds make this hotel a no go.
Staff was extrememly friendly and helpful, and we were located near some good restarants. The beds were uncomfortable and sleep did not come easy.
