Extended Stay America Economy Kansas City - Lenexa - 95th St.

We reserved a nonsmoking queen room with sofa bed. They gave us the room right next to the office. #1 It did not have a sofa bed and #2 it REEKED of smoke (or coverup of smoke, I should say). The girl working the desk rolled a cot into the room. I was preturbed that they didn't give us the type of room we requested and then told her that this was not a nonsmoking room. She walked in and said she didn't smell anything... I asked her if she smoked. She pretended she didn't hear the question and I asked it again. She said "Yes, but I haven't smoked today." I said, "You smoke; that's why you don't smell it!" Anyway, she again said they had no other rooms available but she could find us another location and we said Please Do! We ended up staying at the Extended Stay at 85th in Lenexa. Much better experience there!

Sorry, but I've gotta' tell the truth. This place was definitely disgusting. No hair dryer, no shampoo. The fold out sofa was FILTHY, and the frame was broken, but what the heck, there were no linens or pillows anyway. The chair in the living area was threadbare and had holes in the arms. We happened to have a sleeping bag in the car and the kids always travel with a blanket and pillow. If we wanted clean towels, we had to take the dirty ones to the front desk for an exchange. There were two 17" TV's; however, only one remote. Guess what? It didn't work. The refrigerator worked fine and there was a table with two chairs. In other words, spend an extra $20 and keep searching. This place might be OK for a construction worker for a couple of weeks, and who would go home on weekend.

First, checking into the office was not easily found. We drove around until we found what might be the office. There was no lights on outside or in. A red phone is outside to call for an attendant at 9:30 pm. When we checked into our room the key did not work and we had to go to the "red phone" again to call for an attendant. The trash cans outside were overflowing with stains all the way down the stairs. Our room was smoky even though it was a non-smoking room. We tried to open the window to get rid of the smoke smell and the window fell out into our bedroom. So we tried sleeping on our uncomfortable bed with the interstate traffic noise. At 4:30 am it started to rain. We put the window back together. The bedding on the bed consisted of a sheet and thin bedspread. No blanket. The other problem was the toilet. Two flushes for toilet paper. The toilet filled very slowly. I could shower and get dressed before it was done filling up with water. More than toilet paper 6 flushes. It took about one hour to clear before anybody else could use it for fear of overflowing onto the floor. Parking is a sinch if you are handicapped. Otherwise plan on hiking it, or arrive early.

We were on a family vacation/with friend also. The hotel was unclean, smelled of smoke and dirty. Unhappy with the room all the way around. The check in service was good. Otherwise the experience was not good at all. Will not be staying there again!!

The suite I had was very quiet and comfortable. Off highway exit but tucked in far enough that there was not any highway noise. The staff was very friendly and was very time contious during check in and out. Very good value for the price I paid. I will certainly stay there again.
