Situated on US-83, the 1st Travel Inn of Oakley is just minutes to Downtown Oakley, the Fick Fossil Museum, Memorial Garden, and just a short drive to Monument Rocks, Lake Scott State Park and Smoke Valley Ranch. Guests will enjoy comfortable rooms with free wireless internet, an outdoor pool, and a picnic and grilling area. Pets welcome upon approval and with 10USD charge per pet. Children 12 and under stay free with paying adult. Please advise if traveling with pets or children.
Office hours are 8am-11pm.

Very nice older motel run by a younger couple who keep the place clean and well maintained. The pool is beautiful and fenced in and even had plants around for decoration. On a trip in which we stayed at 6 different motels, this was by far the best.

Our arrival was after office hours, but the key was provided with specific instructions on finding the room. The hotel is probably from the 60s or maybe older and the decor remains in that era. However, it is clean and well maintained. The mattress was not a plush style, but was comfortable. It was only for a sleep over to continue our trip home so met our needs just fine. We awakened the next morning to band music from the high school across the street.

Oakley feels like a ghost town after dark, so while this motel was conveniently located off the highway, it's not a fabulous location, but that's not the motel's fault. It's Oakley's. The room was spacious and clean. There's cable, and that's about it. And based on the town, that's the entertainment for the night. No complaints really, but if you don't like kitschy decor, find a chain.

Off the highway but very clean and quiet, and they had the room heater on - which was a wonderful welcome since we were able to come into a warm room on a frigid night! The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful.

Every room offers Hi-Speed Internet, Microwave, Refrigerator, In-Room Coffee, Hair Dryer, Iron and Ironing Boards. The hotel offers a Complimentary Continental breakfast including Hot Waffles & Cappucino Machine. Business services available such as fax, printing and copy. Truck Parking available and pets are welcome. Pet Charge: 10.00 USD room/night. Pet Limit: 2 pets/room maximum 50 pounds.

I was staying there over Christmas weekend and never saw the manager after checking in. The breakfast was not offered, coffee in the room was not there and found trash under the sink that was not mine.

Good place to stay in a small town

We liked the size of the room because it had a 2 person foam comfortable sofa with extra chairs and a nice desk. Most rooms overlooked the outdoor pool, which also kept you from hearing/seeing the highway traffic. Personable staff who helped you know which restaurants were open close by. This is a very small town.
The king size mattress was a spring type design, so one could feel the springs when you moved around on the bed. For a 57 y/o person with need for more cushioning in my hips and back, it left me sore in the morning. Ibuprofen to the rescue!
