Super 8 Topeka/Wanamaker RD/I-70

Booked two rooms; one was comfortable for sleeping but not the cleanest, the other had an odd smell and the toilet backed up. Front desk service was good. Breakfast area had good selection of food but was a little dirty.

It was the only hotel available and they way over charged for it!

The rooms were decent and clean. The breakfast served biscuts and gravy but there was no waffle maker. One outside door lock was broke and you didn't have to use your key to get in.

We had stayed at this hotel two other times in the last five years. On this trip, we were spending only one night. It is not a five-star hotel, but it is conveniently located and very economical. The furniture and carpet are a bit worn, but acceptable. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and adequate. The TV and refrigerator worked well. We were particularly impressed with the continental breakfast offering coffee, juice, milk, pasteries, fruit, cereal, toast, buscuits with sausage gravy, and waffles made by adding dough into a waffle machine.

Definatly low budget operation, extremely overpriced.

Room clean, but odor from air conditioner. Had the TV, mini-refrigerator on the desktop and microwave oven on floor. Coffee pot hadn't been cleaned, so i didn't use it. Staff was great!! Breakfast plentiful and tasty.

i requested a non smoking room at time of booking a month before arrival but was placed in a smoking room on arrival and that made sick. [...]

Easy access from I-70, Kansas Turnpike and I-470. Short drives east to downtown, to Kansas Expocentre, and south to shopping and entertainment. Plan to stay here on my next trip.

The reviews on this hotel must be fixed by the hotel staff because there is no way anybody would rate this place a four. We checked in and when we walked into the 2nd level hallway I noticed a loud dehumidifyer in the middle of the hall ??? Entered the room and noticed how small it was. Not enough lighting in the bathroom to do anything, prob not lighted well to not show the dirt in the room. So we laid down to sleep and turned the air conditioner on. About 15 min later and on the verge of sleep the air conditioner shuts off for no reason. So know you can hear everybody on all sides of you and upstairs. Paper thin walls painted in a nice Indian style pink and green. I mean India the county, not American Indians. Then something in the hotel turns on and continues to be loud. 20 min later the air came back on. Then 10 min later it shuts back off. That was it, we left 3 hours after being there and complaining to the person in charge who could barley speak the English language. When we walked back out into the hallway it was about 100 degrees in the indoor hallway. We will never again stay at any Super 8 Hotel ever again. I can't beleive they let somebody run a hotel like this under there name. Never Again will we stay at a Super 8.

The location was great. But could not get to sleep until 1:30 am due to noise in rooms above and beside rooms.
