Rainy weekend trip
Most of the rooms in this hotel overlook the pool. I guess that would be great if you have kids (or an entire soccer team, which also booked the same day as us). The side we were on had no outside windows, and had bad lighting, so it was dark and noisy . There was very little parking. The "full breakfast " was a joke. Certainly not what they advertise. The bathroom fan sounded like a jet engine. We would not stay there again, or visit Hannibal again for that matter.

Outstanding Stay!
We were on the northwest side of Missouri, listening to news report about the rains and the river overflowing its banks when we called the Best Western on the River in Hannibal. The desk clerk reassured us and made a note that we would be a very late arrival. The streets were as water-free as foretold and the hotel everything that previous reviewers promised. The rooms are clean, very well designed with excellent amenities, and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hannibal. The Mark Twain historical buildings are a very short walk from the Best Western so it is also very convenient to the town's historical section.

Leave your car in the Best Western parking lot and walk to the beautiful park with statues to your left, then to the Mark Twain Museum to the right of the motel and one short block toward the river.

Toured the Mark Twain museums and the Cave. Hotel could have used light blocking drawable curtains. A room with two double beds could have used a sink outside the bathroom. The continental breakfast was only average. They could use a waffle maker, yogurt, fresh fruit and more sweet roll donut options.

Great location
We were there for a ham radio get-to-gether and were able to get some geocaching done as most of them were close to the hotel. the motel was redone last year and they did a very nioe job. Good breakfast. A little noisy as our room was next to the pool and rest rooms. Will likely stay there again.

If the Maintenance Folks would spend some time fixing low cost items like doors properly shutting, dampening sound, and making sure that the Heat/AC work in each room, then this would be a quiet little slice of heaven. Don't get a salad from Cassano's as they don't do very well outside of their main stay items. Chicken in salad was hard and the fried mushrooms tasted like onion rings from old grease. I would stay here again because the location and the amenities made my kids feel great and spoiled. But just some minor repairs would get the older crowd fully on your side.

Parking was tight but it was Free!!! Fantastic location. The morning shower was luke warm - not cold enough to complain but could have been warmer.
