This hotel is reasonably convenient to the Charlotte Motor Speedway and other NASCAR venues. My son and I each had a room, and we both experienced a good stay - the staff was friendly and helpful, the place was clean, and convenient to places to shop and eat.

Hot water wasn't running...so had to hop into another room to take a shower. Next day, same issue. However on further inspection, we discovered that the valve was installed incorrectly such that the hot is on the cold side just before you shut off the water and the cold side was on the hot valve.
The room was very nice, and open.
Liked the big flat screen TV and the sitting area. Very clean and modern!

I chose this hotel as the final destination on our wedding night. The staff was very helpful. The agent at the front desk was even kind enough to let me look at 2 rooms with different views before making my selection.
Both the room and bathroom were spotless. I chose the "Charlotte Uptown" view which was marvelous. The price was reasonable and the service was top notch.
I would recommend this property to anyone visiting Charlotte.

The hotel is in a great location, heart of downtown.
Room was very comfortable and had a fantastic view of Charlotte. Truly enjoyed a room on the higher levels.
Staff was very attentive and professional.
The only con, they charge for parking even if you decide to park your vehicle yourself you still have to pay for it.
overall a great stay if you can afford it, lots of choices around though!

The Marriott was an excellent place to stay for an overnight trip. The drawbacks were the lack of continental breakfast in the morning and no mini-fridge in the room, but the hotel was designed well, comfortable to stay in, and the staff made check-in, check-out, parking, and visiting local night life as easy as possible. I would definitely stay here again!

We stayed at the Holiday Inn as we were attending the Bobcats vs. Cavs game on 1/16. Location was perfect for bars and restaurants and only a block away from the arena. Only downside was parking cost $15 a night. 4 stars nonetheless

Was in Charlotte for a convention, so I was walking or taking the very convenient shuttle to the convention center every day. It's about 4 blocks - never felt unsafe when walking. Hotel is a bit isolated if you want to be in the middle of restaurants, bars and other hotels, though. The morning breakfast buffet is terrific and very fresh. The evening complimentary happy hour is great also - but don't expect to make it a meal. Staff was very friendly; room was clean and comfortable.

I took my girlfriend to Charlotte for a Bobcats game. She had never been to a professional game and I surprised her with tickets for Christmas. Charlotte was beautiful and the people we truly a pleasure to be around. Everything the town has to offer is within walking distance of the hotel. The hotel is very clean and the staff is very friendly and nice. They have several social events at the hotel, and a very reliable shuttle service. I sincerely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Charlotte area.

I loved the hotel room! It was so cute. We were in town for a wedding and some of the guests stayed at the Westin. We were told that we made a better choice to stay at the Courtyard Marriott. It was so close to everything. We walked every where. We were lucky enough to have the ST Patty's Day parade right out the front door during our stay. The only complaint is that the sign to the hotel is hard to see when coming from N. Tryon to S. Tryon. The address they give you is actually on a door next to the hotel entrance and the sign is "kitty corner" on the side of the building (Tryon and 3rd). We didn't see it until we turned around.

Hotel is in an old building, under construction, but the rooms are clean and comfortrable. Location is perfect, close to I-277 and withing walking distance to downtown (but they have shuttle anyways)

i read the bad reviews online but it really wasnt a bad experience at all. the cable was out when i got there and the rooms dont get espn so that was a big negative. the pool and bar were nice. it was close enough to bank of america stadium and uptown charlotte. shuttle was nice and efficent. the customer service and desk staff was very helpful. the thing kepping me from rating it 4 stars instead of 3 is the cable issue, especially them not having espn...every hotel has espn (i thought)!

Front desk, shuttle driver, wait staff were all exceptionally friendly! However, our room smelled smoky and did not have a balcony which was promised. Because we were on our way to a Checkers game, we were too short on time to ask for another, but I'm certain the staff would have taken care of it. The beds were quite comfortable.

This hotel is close to everything. I thought the amenities were comparable to most hotels. I really liked the room. The beds were incredibly comfortable with lots of pillows and down comforter. Hotel staff were excellent-the best feature of The Crowne Plaza.

Cozy In Charlotte. Take a look at this sprawling green roofed Colonial revival house located in a historic neighborhood near downtown Charlotte. Several things probably impress you, What a gorgeous home and garden. Nice shade trees too. If it is this pretty on the outside, would not you love to take a peek inside. You can do more than that. You can stay here and truly savor this place. The Morehead possesses all the charm of a grand manor. It makes a perfect getaway without taking the time and trouble of actually getting away. Morning brings breakfast to the Inns main dining room. Expect to be spoiled rotten. You will enjoy a self-serve extended Continental breakfast, with fresh pastries baked on site, Belgian waffles made to order, and more-served on real china. Not a foam cup or plastic spoon in sight.

This is a modest size hotel and as a result the service and amenities are quite good. One can get attention on check in and check out required for special requests and needs. Room was nothing fancy, but the free minibar sodas and waters helped lend an atmosphere of commodiousness. The lobby bar was a welcome place to hang out for a drink and the selection of beverages was very good. Restaurants abound and there is good access to both a grocery store and a drug store. All in all a very pleasant place that will receive more of my business in the future.

A friend and I decided to take a short trip to Charlotte for shopping, dinner, and an overnight stay. We found this hotel online and the location was very convenient to downtown and the restaurant we chose. The staff of the hotel was very friendly and accommodating. My only complaint is that there was a dirty towel left on the rack, but that's probably due to their "green" policy of washing linens.

We stayed at the A-Loft in downtown Charlotte for an overnight trip recently. The hotel is located pretty much in the center of downtown, so many amenities are are within walking distance, and catching a cab somewhere else is easy. The rooms were on the smaller side, but well appointed. Service was incredibly friendly. The only drawbacks were: parking is extra ($10/day) and the lack of a ground floor lobby.

We came down for Halloween and a Football Game on Sunday. The hotel was in a perfect location and very clean. The staff was friendly as well. The fridge was not working. We were supposed to get 2 queens but were stuck with one king. They said because we booked through orbitz we were not guaranteed the 2 queens. They did give us some breakfast passes since they couldn't give us our two beds. Overall it was a great hotel but a little disappointed that we didnt get what we paid for. Would definitely return though!

The hotel was perfectly situated next door to the Time Warner Cable arena where we saw the Bobcats play. We enjoyed the urban chic decor and was inspired to do something similar to our home. The room was very comfortable, bed was awesome and the shower was surprisingly large, something my 6'2" fiance appreciated. The TV was way larger than expected too! Will definitely stay at this hotel again on our next visit to Charlotte. The only thing I would add to the experience is to have a wider selection of food in the HBar, especially more desserts.

We were late booking our reservations for our Charlotte trip to go and see ECU play the Gamecocks. So in efforts to find a place as close to downtown as possible, we booked the last room offered by the Duke. We had no idea what we were going into, so we were really pleasantly surprised by this south Charlotte gem. The staff had our room ready early and called us a cab as soon as we checked in. While we waited for the cab, we wondered around the property to admire its beauty, all while they were preparing for a wedding that took place while we were out that night. When we got back after 2am, we were again greeted at the door by the most friendly staff member that let us know it was OK, we didn't have to whisper even though it was in fact a residence at one time. He was funny and reminded us about breakfast the next morning. When we did crawl out of the unbelievably comfortable bed (I could still be laying there and not have a care in the world), we wondered downstairs to enjoy the end of the breakfast buffet, which we could have sworn was just prepared ten minutes earlier and not sitting out all morning. This place has completely changed my opinion about having to stay downtown at the Weston, Marriot, or Hilton when attending games with intentions of going out after. This is close enough to enjoy all of that, and far enough out to leave it all behind when you are finished. I would highly recommend this to anyone planning to stay in the Queen City, or at least try it out once. You won't be sorry and you will likely have found a home away from home close to uptown Charlotte just like we did!!!

I made a last minute reservation and saved several hundred dollars off the listed rate. They gave me a huge room on the top floor with a gorgeous view of downtown. Amenities are the nicest I've experienced in any 5-star hotel. This is as nice as(and newer than) than any other Ritz I've ever stayed in. In-room coffee and espresso machines, tv in the bathroom mirror, well-lit desk and a healthy choice of foods on the in-room-dining menu. I'll be back

Got put up at the Marriott for a job interview, but since it was a bit expensive for me to stay there for my remaining nights in Charlotte, I opted for the Best Western. It was a bit run-down (splotchy paint touch-ups on the walls), and a problem with my bathroom faucet was never fixed. The room wasn't extremely clean, but not bad (dust bunnies behind the chairs). I was expecting something plain for my money, but was still disappointed. On the other hand, the continental breakfast was good, and the staff were outgoing and friendly. Not a bad location, being close to I-77, and easy to get to from CLT on the Billy Graham Parkway.

I had a king room--great layout with excellent work desk, small couch w/ coffee table, comfortable bed and lots of pillows. The room has an ingenious arrangement for the microwave/coffee maker/fridge setup that got it out of the sleeping area and out of sight. Good staff, well kept facilities and grounds and just far enough from airport. Now if they could just do something about the blah breakfast....

The Sheraton Charlotte is an outstanding hotel. The staff is courteous and goes the extra mile to serve their guests. The room was clean, comfortable, updated, and had the expected amenities. However more attention needs to be placed on general room maintenance.
I arrived late and went directly to my room. Wanted to watch the news before retiring. The TV wasn't getting a signal. I initially thought it was a simple remote control problem & tried to correct it myself. When I couldn't, I called the front desk & they immediately sent up an engineer. I was told that the TV needed to be re-programed. He returned shortly with a computer. When that didn't work, the supervisor came up. They offered to move me to another room but it was late & I was settled. Why bother for 1 nite. They were able to replace the cable & get it programed to receive digital channels.
When I went to use the sink in the bathroom, the hot water handle came off in my hands. I was able to put it back on & turn off the water. I also noticed the left side of the TP holder was barely connected to the wall and the tank top to the toilet was not properly placed.
These were all relatively minor issues but they are details which should not be ignored in a quality establishment. Would this keep me from a return visit, no. But it would have been very annoying if I was going to be there longer than 1 night.

It was just fine i was only at the hotel for about 5 hrs to rest and on the road. I found the facilities to but just fine.

Good hotel. The people were helpful and friendly. The free breakfast had real food and the staff kept it fresh. The hotel is well maintained. Good location for getting around the area.

Great Hotel but the absence of continental breakfast was an annoyance. What hotel doesn't do that!
Also $12.95 per day for internet seemed extreme. We just hooked our computer up at my son-in-law's home, but again an unnecessary annoyance.
In our travels these two things have become standard - kind of like hair dryers and shampoo. One comes to expect them

Everything you expect from a Marriott, the only drawback is that the restaurant was remodeled and was a bit complicated breakfast.
The excellent staff and good service, some little problems with Internet connectivity.
