Convenient, Clean, Comfortable
The hotel is clean, needs a facelift in the hallway, common areas and lobby. No complaints for the aesthetics of the room, they put the work into these babies. So that said, it's consistent with every other hotel in this chain. I'd do it again

Go to Smith Street Diner, 1 block south of the hotel, for a Southern sunday breakfast. less than $6. if you make 2 fists and hold them together, the biscuits are bigger than that.

Overall a pretty good hotel stay
I really don't understand all the negative reviews about this hotel. I stayed for two days last week, and overall, it was a pretty good hotel stay. Sure, the carpeting and TVs are a little dated and it could use a renovation. But my room was big, clean, and the bed was super comfy. The staff receive an A+ rating from me. My first night, there were teenagers in the next room screaming and laughing in the wee hours of the morning. I alerted the hotel staff and they immediately went up to the room. I didn't hear any noise after that. The next morning when I came downstairs they asked if it quieted down and whether I got a good night's sleep. What annoyed me was lack of amenities. I was bummed to find out they didn't have free wifi. Also, the brochure left in the room touted a "complimentary breakfast." When I went downstairs in search of this I found out there was no such thing. I expected more, considering this is one of the more expensive hotels in the area. I would definitely recommend this hotel. It seems to be the best choice in the area (I came across many shady reviews for other hotels) and is in a great location. With better amenities, I would give this hotel a 5-star rating.

We saw a cute little trattoria, Riva's, on the corner by the hotel, and it was yummy!

good accomidations and location
We spent only one evening as we were in town for college interview. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The in hotel restuarant was expensive and the food was just average.

Good enough ...
- Great location. Very convenient for me to travel to/from my client. - King sized bed was incredibly comfortable. - Could use a few more channels on the tube. - Lock-off doors could be better insulated. Heard the person in the room next to me hacking up a lung in the AM

A Place to Stay
The Marriott chain has always tried to convince customers that it is more upscale than it really is. Given the location and the lack of nearby shopping, restaurants, etc. there may have been better choices for me. For a quick business say, it would be fine. No pool, a restuarant that doesn't open until six and no other dining options made it seem isolated. I find the daily charge for wi-fi access a bit disconcerting and needless.
