Awesome first experience
The hotel was a lot of fun with a lot to do and friendly staff. The staff was very helpful with luggage and housekeeping. I also appreciated having a safe within the room. The downfalls were the pool was closed making it an inconvenience, as well as the lack of microwaves and mini fridges in the rooms. Having a fridge in the room would have made a huge difference.

Get a bus pass rather than a cab and buy as much as you can from the local CVS rather than the hotels because its WAY cheaper.

Not what I expected, VERY UNHAPPY
Arrived at the hotel in 95 degree weather to find that the pool was under construction. My room was unavailable when I arrived, they gave me a room with a queen instead of king bed as reserved, right next to the roller coaster which ran all night! The room was supposed to be Deluxe Strip View, not roller coaster view! Staff said hotel patrons could use two of the nearby hotel pools. Took almost 45 minutes each way to walk to the pool at the other hotel. I had to call the front desk 3 of the 4 days I was there because no one came in to clean the room or provide new towels! This was my first trip to Vegas, went for my Birthday/Mothers Day. I picked New York New York because I am from New York and thought why not. VERY UNHAPPY : (

Enjoyable stay.
We didn't spend lots of time in the room so it was perfect for our needs. Had a steak dinner at Gallagher's - complete with martini. Excellent food. We didn't enjoy the slots - lost money very quickly. We saw Cirque du Sole KA at MGM Grand - conveniently across the street. Had friends who stayed there. I enjoyed the show a lot. We only spent one whole day there so we didn't get to do as much as we would have liked. All in all a good stay.

Broken Hearted
This trip was for the sole purpose of laying in the sunshine next to the pool. Bad part, it was closed!!! I called 3 weeks before our vaca to make sure it would be open because I had noticed on the website it said the pool opened May 1st. They assured me the pool opened on May 1st, what they didn't tell me was that it was under construction. They werent even going to tell me at check-in, but my sister had already arrived, so I knew. They acted like I was out of line for being upset about the pool. The accomodations were NOTHING in comparison to the hike we had to take over the MGM to relax in the sun each day. I'll never stay at NYNY again. And the staff there need to remember that the customer is ALWAYS right. Horrible stay, no more Las Vegas trips to lay out in the sun, I'll stick to Palm Springs from now on!!!!

NYNY is a nice place, great location, clean, love the casino and the Mexican food. Price is a little high and the hotel fee is useless. I would rather they raise the rate $18 instead of pull the hotel fee stuff. The wifi was weak in our room and I dont want a newspaper. I love the location.
