Palace Station Hotel

In LV on business with colleague and we usually stay at "Station" hotels that ring the city to avoid gridlock on strip. He booked Palace Station separately. On check-in staff said he had booked "an upgraded room." My room was in the Courtyard Ghetto: 1950's era Holiday Inn quality, although in fairness, room was OK/upgraded. Key entry doors not working (poor security from street), TV remote NG, maid service showed up at 7 pm...in short, for being their home "Station" this was not as good as any other "Station" in the LV area, and I've stayed in 5 different ones.

The hotel was a basic average hotel. The location was a little far off the main strip, but was good for the price.

Check in was fine and all seemed ordinary. Walk to room was locatede far out of the way in a place called, "The Court Yard." Got into room, unpacked, and all was good. Ready to take shower, turned on water but could not get any warm water; it was either scalding hot or freezing cold. Wife called desk and when they heard the problem they said they would send a tech out to fix problem. Twenty minutesd waiting, wife called again and the operator hung up on my wife. meanwhile I'm sitting on chair with just a towel around me. I called then called desk operaror and told her we had called earlier and someone was supposed to come to room to check or fix the problem with our shower. she said someone would come soon. I asked her for an ETA, said about fifteen minutes. Five minutes tech comes to room and immediately apologizes..Could not fix problem, called to get us another room.. Got new room but it was one floor above, had to lug all luggage another long distance and up a fliught of stairs; no elevator in "The Court Yard." Tech kept apologizing and said he didn't know why they gave us a room so far away. Punishment for complaining, who knows? Got to room, Tech says, "Everything is in working order, I made sure to check everything out for you." Room was already warming up, all lights, and Tv on; all is good. Was already partially undressed still, when I went to take a shower; hit the light switch and found there was no lights. Called the desk again, but this time when they answered they said my name. "I have no lights in the bathroom," I say. "We will send out a tech right away," she says. No apologies, no words of any concern. Now the time of all of this taking place, when we got to our first room, is 1:am. It is now after 2:am. Two techs arrive at our room within five minutes, one of which is the gentleman who had helped us the first time. He repeatedly apologized; so two techs worked on the problem for about thirty minutes before they found the problem and fixed. Tbe person at the desk was not rude, just not well trained in customer service. She showed no concern for the problems we were having, never once expressing any apology on behalf of the hotel! By the way, the showers seemed to be made for a small trailer home. I'm not a big person, I stand five feet, four inches; there was no room to move around in that shower, and the shower head was so low it was in my face... Oh well we had a nice visit in spite of the hotel and "The Court Yard." The Technician was apologetic; that made a world of difference.

Reading reviews we were kinda of scared staying here. Yes, we had courtyard rooms. It wasn't that bad at all. We were close to the casino the walk is not that far to the front desk. The only issues we had was the wi-fi connection was poor our whole stay not able to connect at all. The other issue was the smell of the rooms, it had a strong cleaning product smell like a mixture with bleach. the casino is old and there is an older crowd there but we enjoyed hanging out there. Claudia late night cocktail hostess was great really friendly! We would go back again

Hotel people are fooling by showing attractive pricing and photo of the main hotel on the net. Where as the reality it completely different. They made us staty in a very shabby room very small and a bit away from the main hotel. They call it Courtyard .. the room was too bad. Then they charged me 26 $ extra + tax for some services at the time of checking in the hotel so basically I land up paying more than I have estimayed for.

THE HOTEL DID OFFER A SHUTTLE TO, AND FROM THE AIRPORT WHICH WAS CONVENIENT. THE RESORT FEES WERE EXCESSIVE AS AMMENITIES WERE MINIMAL. FOR $15 A DAY THEY SHOULD AT LEAST PROVIDE AN IN ROOM COFFEE SERVICE

Well if you want to get away from all the noise but still be a short shuttle drive close to the action I would stay here. Nice places to eat 24/7. Fast service with anything I needed. I give it two thumbs up.

Great location off the strip. The Cafe serves good breakfast and the room in the Tower wasvery comfortable

The staff was (as usual) very friendly and helpful. This is my 5th stay at a Palace property and I have yet to be disappointed. We stayed in a tower room that was clean and inviting. Over our 4 day stay we ate at the hotel a number of times and the food was excellent. On our departure the front desk staff printed my boarding passes for our airline and processed us in under 5 minutes for our check out. All in all a very enjoyable experience.

When checking in, I was reminded about their $18 resort fee I had to pay on top of the quoted rate. It's a shame, never used anything they offered & still had to pay $6 a night for internet! Just give us a fair total cost! The clerk then said the room our reservation was for wasn't very good and that he could upgrade me to a renovated room in the tower for "only" $10 a night. I reluctantly agreed as didn't want a bad room. Room was OK, but hated paying another extra charge!
