- A special room for those traveling with four-footed friends! Please note that dogs must weigh 50 pounds or less each and be present at the time of check- in. Up to 2 dogs per room are allowed. Dogs are permitted to walk through designated common areas while on a leash and accompanied by the owner. Check in time for PetStay rooms is 4pm; dog owners must be prepared to accommodate your dogs until your room is ready. Dogs are the only animals allowed under the PetStay program. Dogs must be kenneled or out of the room during housekeeping. Good value for price
I spent 4 days at the Rio Las Vegas for a conference last week, and it was adequate. The room was nice since it was at the Ipanema Tower which has gone through renovations. The hotel is a bit dated and needs updating, but the service and room were adequate for the price. The walk to the convention area was a bit long each morning, but overall a decent stay.

Short drive from hotel
Shuttle to the Bally's or Harrah's comes on the half hour and is an easy hop to the strip. The drivers were friendly and it is worth the ride.

The hotel is nice, but is obviously one of the older hotels around (not on) the strip. My biggest problem is the fact that I felt "nickled and dimed." Internet had to be purchased (over $20/day for anywhere wi-fi) and the gym cost over $20/visit as well.

Great service but the room had the typical smoke smell. I appreciated the room upgrade, but the smoke ruins any bumps up.

The Educator
My 2-night stay at Rio
I was apprehensive about the location of the Rio, i.e. on the other side of the I-15 and away from the Strip, but it turned out fine. They provide shuttle to the Strip via either Harahs or Paris and Bally. My only other suggestion is that be sure to get a room in the Mesqerade Tower and not the Ipanema tower.

Great getaway
Hotel was great. Self park was close, room was very large and clean and the bed was super comfortable. Restaurant was excellent. Would definitely stay at the Rio again.
