The location was great, it was near a lot of different attractions in New York. I wasnt that happy about the service, the staff was ok. People was kind of serious, did not receive a lot of help when asked about information.

Good location, good price, small rooms
A good hotel, great location. Rooms are small, with a shared bathroom. Not ideal, but given the price that is acceptable. Rooms did seem to have a strange "very clean" smell. Staff was great. Many restaurants close by.

comfortable and inexpensive
This hotel was perfect for my stay. As most visitors to NYC are out enjoying the city all day, it doesn't seem to make sense to pay a lot of money for amenities that you won't be using much. After a day of sightseeing, it's an easy walk home from the subway and is in a safe, quiet location. The rooms are simple but comfortable and the shared bathrooms are kept extremely clean.

For some quiet time, the Church of the Transfiguration is a few blocks away at 1 E 29th St. For excellent coffee, Cafe Keko at 121 Madison Avenue.

with a 7-days-METRO-pass I went up-& downtown easily and took very many trip to places I had not been to before.

It took them some time to find the reservation and or type. Then it felt as thought they made an arbitrary decision as to what room to give me. Remote on TV did not work. They should also mention that bathrooms are shared. Don't mind it but I don't like surprises.

I called them to confirm my reservation on the day before my travel and they were helpful to co the same. Check-in was quite quick, few minutes. After completing 10Hrs tour that was very important. No one would like to stand in queue for this. Front desk people were friendly. Pros: Location, quick check-in, Cons:Small rooms(Though common in other hotels), noisy AC
