We needed a pet friendly motel while we visited Sandusky one night for a wedding while enroute home. This was perfect. The rooms were clean and we had no complaints.

The hotel is not too far from Cedars Point. The rooms where clean. Check in was very quick. The room had free wi-fi connection. The breakfast area was very small and the choices where limited, but ok perk for the stay.

the bar at the pool was great the outside pool stayed open late so we got to swim after a long hot day of coaster riding.i have seen nicer rooms but all in all it was good we did not fight the crowd for breakfast but it looked nice they had several hot items.

When we arrived we were told that there wasnt a room avaliable for us and that it could be any where from 5 mins to a few hours before one was ready. We agreed to go eat and thencheck back. Another lady said her and her family had been waiting almost 2 hours and still didnt have a room!! W hen we arrived back in two hours i was able to check in quickly and everything was supposed to ready. Upon entry into the room nothing had been cleaned including the beds that were still messy from the last clients stay to the towels and used bar of soap in the bathroom!!! My husband went to the front desk while I took our children to swim. The pool was warm and very nice. The staff was very plesant and [...] fixed the problem right away and even helped make our stay better. The beds were comfortable as were the pillows...There were tons of younger (teenage to young adult) kids staying and that led to very noisy conditions in the hallway late into the night and very very early the next morning. In all I would go back and stay again. THANK YOU [...] FOR MAKING OUR STAY GREAT!!!! YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!

I stayed at the South Shore Inn for a night with a group of cousins while visiting Cedar Point. We had a lot of fun at the pool with the water slides and hot tub. The standard room was clean but the furniture was stained and the wall paper was peeling. Also, the complimentary breakfast was very limited.

We went for Halloweekends. Nice and close. We checked in late but all our info was ready to go so it took minutes. Rooms are small. It's an old motel. Can't beat it for the price and a one night stay. I'll stay there again for sure

Overall the HOJO isn't too bad. Although really, it's not a Howard Johnson. It basically seems to be a former mom-n-pop 2-floor motel that Howard Johnson just stuck their name on. I booked 2 rooms for 2 couples. One room had a king bed and my only critique on this particular room was the tv. It had a decent amount of static on it. Aside from this minor comment- after all, I'm not there to watch the tv..., it was a fine room. The shower had nice pressure with a newer curtain rod, the bed was a bid hard for my liking but wife enjoyed it so to each their own. Now onto my friends' room. They had 2 double beds and they had a number of complaints. First, their bathroom was one of the smallest I'd ever seen (room 106 specifically). The door would only swing half-way open because it would hit the edge of the shower tub. You literally couldn't swing your legs to the left if you were on the toilet. There also was no sink in the bathroom. It was located outside of the room where the 'desk' part of the countertop should have been. Yup, you heard me. They had a sink outside of their bathroom! I got a good laugh out of it, but they weren't chuckling. They also didn't even have any clothes drawers. Outside of their bathroom was a countertop with sink and no drawers below, just open space. Poor design... Also, there was a 'fallen iron' burn mark in the carpet that just added to the decor... Anyways, I didn't have any issues in the king bed room (#216) but in the 2 double bed rooms, they certainly did. Moral of the story is to be VERY careful if you plan on booking with 2 doubles. Great location close to park though- only about 2.5 miles from Cleveland Ave which is 5 - 10 minutes away. Terrific location, have fun and enjoy the Top Thrill Dragster and Millenium Force- best coasters around!

Were a lil disappointed that there was no refrigerator, microwave or coffee pot in the room! but overall our experience was good! Georgio the concierge waffle maker at the free continental breakfast was awesome, not only did he make awesome waffles but had a fabulous personality to go with it! Front desk was very helpful aswell!

Went to Cedar Point and needed a place to stay the night before driving home in the morning. Room was pretty clean - no gunk or smell, beds were comfy (though we did bring our own blankets, just in case), easy check-in and out. We didn't take advantage of the continental breakfast, so I don't know if it's good or not.. Overall, definitely worth it for the price and proximity to Cedar Point. I'd stay here again.

At first glance, it looks pretty ghetto. There is an abandoned restaurant next door that has been overgrown with weeds and is falling apart. When we checked into our room, it was clean enough. Not spotless by any means, but we are not too picky. There were a couple big disappointments which I feel that I should share... 1) The toilet in our room plugged and started overflowing because the flush mechanism did not work correctly and the tank kept running. I was able to shut the water off to it, throw some towels on the floor and called the front desk to send maintenance over. He repaired the toilet, and took some of the wet towels with him. However, nobody ever came back and cleaned up the mess or mopped the floor. Even after calling the front desk requesting housekeeping to come mop the floor that the toilet had just overflowed on, they never did come mop the floor for the entire 3 days we were there. We just wore our shoes in the bathroom when we went in there. 2) When we returned from Cedar Point the second night, there was no water pressure. I called the front desk, and they said that another room had water issues, so they had to shut down the water supply for the entire hotel until they could get a plumber there to fix it. So, there we sat with no way of using the toilet or taking a shower after spending the entire day at Cedar Point. Not a good way to end the day! This hotel was about $20 per night cheaper than the other "low-rent" hotels on that side of town, so I guess I got what I paid for. Would I go back? Maybe, because we only use the hotel to sleep, and spend all of our waking hours out doing stuff. If you are picky about your hotels, or would be freaked out by being next door to a falling down restaurant, then this probably isn't the place for you. It may be worth it to spend the extra $20 for a nicer place.

rates were good, hotel was renovated, but the room was dusty... seems like no one wiped the dust off the table, chair and furniture in the room..

One service listed this as 4 stars. It is an average hotel for an average price but at a great location for going to Cedar Point Park. It looks like they cater to a lot of bus tours. Not bad, but avaerage.

The hotel was in an excellent location to Cedar Point and Soak City. Room was an efficiency so had a microwave and nice size refrigerator. I upgraded when arrived at the hotel and found it had been a smoking room which stunk.

Hotel was good for the price. Kids loved the Laser Tag, bowling, Arcade and indoor slides (not really a water park) but they got bored quickly with outside pool (size of 2 hot tubs together). Over all for the price and locatin to Cedar Point we would stay again.

If your going to cedar point its the best place for the money to stay but other than that no because there is no pool, indoor rain room yes very nice but the max. The room was clean, but mold on one wall other than that its ok.P.S. The bowling alley is cool but the lazer tag is outrageous!!

I was worried that this would be a dive because of the value but I was dead wrong. The staff was great. The continental breakfast was better than most other hotels and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Great hotel. would definitely stay there again

for the price everything was pretty much as expected. I would ask for a 2nd story room due to the floors creak and if your on the lower level you hear everytime someone gets up to potty

Excellent! Very great value. Ended up extending my stay. Very close to everything!. Literally 10 minutes from the mall and 15 from a shopping plaza. Food is everywhere!! 5 minutes from Cedar Point. If you are just going to be using your room to sleep in and your mostly going to be exploring the town then this is the perfect place. I read other reviews and was afraid to give it a try but im glad I did. The check in time was the earliest ever and your check out time is at 12 and usually its at 11. Give it a try, you will not be dissapointed. Very great value!!

We came to town for a wedding and just needed a place to crash, for the price it was fine. The staff was very friendly. The room was small but was fine for what we needed. A little musty when we first came in but we opened the window and aired it out then it was ok. Very noisy our room was close to the road. They don't have much in the room as far as shampoo, or a coffee pot. but we did get the cheapest room and really just needed a bed to crash so remember to pack your own toiletries if you stay here.

The staff was friendiy and helpful. The rooms were clean, but there was a slight musty smell. For the price, I thought it was great. The hotel is close to Cedar Point, has a nice pool, and the continental breakfast was nice to have, cause it does help save money. Overall, I liked it and would go back again.

We stayed at the Days Inn/Sandusky Inn for three nights and I must say that it wasn't bad at all. I was expecting a lot worse after reading the reviews for all of the other hotels that are close to the park. My only complaint is that the pillows were really stiff, so I woke up with a sore neck. The bed was ok. It wasn't terribly uncomfortable but it wasn't the greatest either. But if you're like me, I was too tired to care by the time I hit the bed anyway. The hotel is very close to the park and a nice treat was the waffle irons and free continental breakfast. If you are looking for a 4 star hotel with all the amenities, this is not the place. But if you are looking for a clean place to stay while you visit Cedar Point then this is a good place to stay. I would stay there again.

I was terrified to go to this place after reading the reviews but it really wasn't too bad for the price we paid. It was clean and didn't smell and the parking was close. It was a bit dated but I was only there to sleep, not to judge the decor. We were provided with towels and soap. We did not use the pool because we were only there to sleep so I don't know what condition it was in. There was a spider and a centipede in the bathroom when we first arrived but after we got rid of them there were no other bugs. The only thing that was a bit spooky was we could see the next room's light shining through the plastic on the bathroom wall. They said it had been renovated and it looked like there was a window there at one time and they just covered it with a plastic wall. Other then that I have nothing bad to say, it was a nice cheap place to sleep after a long day at Cedar Point and I would go back so long as the price stays cheap.

Hallways were kinda messy, but were cleaned up. Room was nice, and comforting.

When we first arrived there was a sign on the door that read they would be back in 2 hours. We waited and they showed up after 2 1/2 hours. We were not pleased with the service. We were ready to check in when we got there. They should have been there 24 hours. We did not stay there. We will not go there again,[...]! It was a nightmare!

When we arrived, the lobby was locked and no one was there. There was a note on the door with a number to call if we wanted a room or anything else. People were peeking out their doors as if paranoid. We called the number and the man said he would be right there. While waiting a hooded man came up to us asking when the man said he would be back. We were too afraid to walk back to the car so we stayed by the lighted areas and in front of the street. It was cold. We called the number again and the man in an irritated voice said "We'll be there in 15 minutes." It was cold and we didn't feel safe there, so we left. Later when we called, a woman answered and in the middle of explaining my disappointment in the service, she hung up on me.

Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We arrived around dinner time and asked hotel clerk for help. She offered great suggestions that were close by and very easy to drive to, and we ended up really enjoying the restaurant. Our room was clean and comfortable and also very quiet. We only needed the room for one night and we got a great night's sleep. Right for the price.

My 12 YO daughter had a cheerleading competition in the Sandusky area so we decided to get there a day early. I alway try to stay at Marriot brand hotels because I know that they will be well kept and comfortable. Althought this particular hotel was in the middle of a renovation, it was still very clean a quiet. I would recommend this hotel.

The hotel was satisfactory considering the price. They had plenty of towels the sheets were clean and the bed was very comfortable. The tv selections were limited and fuzzy.the tub in the room was broke and there was hair in the sink and a pube in the shower on the wall about chest high, I'm not sure how it got up that far but a unfortounate oversight. The room needed to be dusted and the walls needed to be washed but we didn't feel that it was going to infect us as long as we didn't lick any of the fixtures. There was no breakfast at all just a old half pot of coffee

Seemed like it needed some updating. Room was OK but small in size. Toilet paper holder broke. Tub seemed cracked?

Hotel was clean. Staff was helpful and courteous. The price of the room was reasonable and the cost of the hotel shops and restaurants wasn't outrageous. I would definitely go back.

My children 3,6 &7 had a great time. The entire waterpark was age appropriate for all three kids. I feel this is a great getaway for kids 10 and under, older than that I bet they would be a little bored. Check-in isn't until 4 but you can use the waterpark at 1 the day of check-in. Our room was ready at 1 when we arrived. You can use the waterpark the day of checkout until close. 2 days of water fun and 1 night hotel for 5 for $200, not too bad!

We go to Cedar point every year. This is our second stay in this Best Western and it's great. Very clean and wonderful friendly service. Last year we tried a different hotel but came back to the BW and will stay here every year.

Stayed here for three nights while visiting Cedar Point, which is about a ten minute drive from the hotel. Our room was clean and a good size. The pool is next door at the Comfort Inn. Overall a good experience.

We were there with a bunch of people, and it was a fun time... It is expensive, but because it can be. There are a ton of kids running around everywhere, which is to be expected, but just an FYI. All in all a nice hotel/indoor waterpark just a short drive from Cedar Point.

i have had a wonderful time here with my family and friends. Sometimes it can be very crowed, but other than that a fun place for a family getaway.

This room was clean, the ac was cold and the water was hot......AND all the TV channels came in good. Along a main road with plenty of food choices near by. This is an older building, however that manifest in a bigger room! Nice.

Over night stay for Ohio Bike Week. Room was clean. Toilet was loose but did not leak. Shower head was stuck on one setting. T.V. did not work, static on all channels. We were not in the room much, just to sleep. So these few things did not bother us to much.

We planned an overnight stop for Cedar Point Park on our way to NY for a wedding. The hotel was very conveniently located off of the highway. It's a much older hotel and rather outdated, however the staff was extremely accomadating and they have a nice pool and hot-tub. Room was pretty small, but for a quick overnight stay we thought it was a very reasonable value.

Room was very clean, however the amenities that were included were old and outdated. The hotel is in a great location, and for the money I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

towels even worse than most hotels, bed uncomfortable, not very many pillows, only 2 light bulbs out of 5 worked, room had a musty smell, outside steps absolutely covered in ice and snow, breakfast donuts and bagels stale, and juice tasted sour

The rooms were small, bathroom needed to be clean (mold in the shower). But we also paid $77.00 for 1 night which was perfect for just sleeping in. Don't think we would stay there again but again fit our needs.

The help was friendly. The facility was clean. It was perfect for a over night cedar point trip. This hotel will be our place of choice for our future cedar point trips!
