La Quinta Inn Sandusky Cedar Point

I have been in Sandusky Ohio many times & thought this hotel was on the older end of Milan Rd. But, I thought I must be wrong because a 3 star rating is pretty good. I was right & wrong, this hotel is older and down the older part of Milan Rd. The room was clean but dated. The granite walls by the tub in the bathroom was very nice. However, as clean as the room was it brought just a little comfort to the outside of the building. It's one of these old motels they renovated and put a wall between the what were the outside doors and the parking lot. Now it's a hotel - you get the picture. My 10 year old said as we pulled up, "are you serious dad, this can not be safe." Of course I told her honey, this is safe it will be clean. She did not buy it, as we pull up and 2 older pick up trucks were the only cars in the lot. Not what you want to see for a 3 star rated hotel.

We needed a pet friendly motel while we visited Sandusky one night for a wedding while enroute home. This was perfect. The rooms were clean and we had no complaints.

We stayed here while visiting Cedar Point. Call ahead if you need a handicap accessible room. [...] Beds are kind of small, but it was clean. Pool was nice. And it was close to a lot of restaurants.

The hotel is not too far from Cedars Point. The rooms where clean. Check in was very quick. The room had free wi-fi connection. The breakfast area was very small and the choices where limited, but ok perk for the stay.

Visited Kalahari with my grandson.You could smell cigarette smoke in the room; when I commented to the desk clerk he said people smoke in the non-smoking rooms all the time. This is unsatisfactory.The room was clean but very run down, the hallways were dirty.[...]

The staff was very nice and friendly.The breakfast was typical. Very small area for eating and the floor was dirty. We requested a non smoking room but it still reeked of smoke or must. The location to Cedar Point and resturants was great.

Rooms smelled smoky, no bathroom towels, & some of the bedding appeared dirty. They quickly came and replaced the bed linens & promised that the towels would be delivered later. We requested a roll-away bed which they said we could have for an additional 15$. We agreed to this fee. When we arrived back in the room after 11pm- from the amusement park, the roll-away was not in the room (nor were the towels). When we went down to the front desk they said that no one had communicated about the roll away or the towels. They only had 1 remaining roll-away & it was on the first floor and they had no elevators. They apologized and suggested that they could give us lots of pillows & blankets or with my husbands help they would try & get it upstairs. They offered to give us a night free as we were staying 2 nights if we just used the blanket/pillow option. We oppted for the free night & saved my husbands back. The rest of the stay they were very accommodating. The breakfast buffet was good & the location to Cedar Point was great.

Room was adequate, rooms were clean but small. I asked for a non-smoking room, but could smell cigarette smoke as soon as we walked into the room.

Main problem, no baby cots (cribs) and no baby highchairs for the breakfast dining room. Apart from that, a decent place to stay.

An upto date hotel with nice friendly staff. Nice breakfast but gets really crowded since its in a very small room. The pool is an outdoor pool and wasn't well maintained (very dirty water). They do provide beach towels too though :)
