Hotel is being upgraded and they started work before 7am

We liked the hotel and would have given it a perfect rating if both rooms we tried wouldn't have smelled like smoke although they were non-smoking rooms. Maybe we were unlucky only...

Third time staying here with my girlfriend, visiting friends in Pittsburgh - both previous experiences great but this time was not good. On the plus side, great, convenient location and easy parking. Free wifi and breakfast are also nice. However, on the negative side: Originally we were given a smoking room when we booked non-smoking. We called the front desk and they said that when you book though a 3rd party smoking/non is a 'request' and not guaranteed. Had to ask firmly to get a different room. Were placed in a handicap accessible room on the ground floor right next to the entrance from the parking lot. Heard people coming and going at all hours, and the hotel's plumbing pipes ran right over our room which you could clearly hear through the ceiling. Even though both previous stays were good, we probably won't come here next time.

This is my favorite place to stay for a Steelers football weekend. Sad to say this last visit was disappointing. The bed was terribly uncomfortable and noisy, waking us up whenever one of us moved. The breakfast on gameday was a total disaster. There were long lines for food which, when it finally came out of the kitchen, was inexlicably cold? This place should have gameday breakfast down to an artform. Not sure what happened this year. At more than $200 per night (premium for Steelers games), it realy wasn't worth the price this year.

Very nice facility, great breakfast. Location was convenient to activities in the city. Price was a bit steep for our budget, probably won't use in the future.

[...] they gave us the only available room, which was smoking. We had to leave our bags completely sealed and shut in the bathroom so our clothes would not absorb the smoke smell. As a non-smoker and someone who works in healthcare and knows the harmful effects of third-hand smoke, it was a very unpleasant experience. [...] So my warning is if you feel strongly about your smoking preference you are better off booking directly from the hotel.

For the price of over $200/night, was definitely not worth it. The room given smelled horribly of cigarette smoke, when I booked a non-smoking room. When I called to see if they could do anything about it, they told me that since I booked through a 3rd party, that I get the left over room available. The next day I said something to the mamager about the smell and she said she will have the room cleaned, but it smelled the same when I returned later that day. I was extremely disappointed in the quality of the room, service and hotel.

It was great. we had to change our flight due to impending snow, so we did not get to spend a lot of time at the hotel. while we were there, the staff was very friendly and helpful.
