Very convenient if you have business in downtown Reading. No addl charge for internet and parking. Friendly and helpful staff.

The hotel staff was extremely helpful with directions and also very friendly and accommodating. Room was very clean and comfortable. Location was easy to get to downtown locations, stores and VF Outlet Factory.

Visiting family for the holidays spent 2 nights at the hotel. Staff was friendly and courteous room was clean, had a nice gym and computer room capability. Very convenient to towna and the outlets.

Only problem was our non-smoking room we booked smelled like cigarettes, as well as the entire building we were in. After we aired out the room, the stay was spectacular.

The hotel was wonderful for our stay. It was conveniently located for our shopping trip & near any number of restaurants. The breakfast was great for starting the morning with a nice selection for everyone. Couldn't beat the value.

Traveled through area on vacation. Very noisy a/c unit added to noise of highway. Made it a nearly sleepless night. Very old building that needs to be replaced. Paint can't cover everything. Toilet never did flush properly.

After driving for over 7 hours we were ready to check in and collapse into bed. The clerk was in the office with our paperwork ready and sent us to our room. When I pulled the bedspread down I was horrified to find bugs and debris all over the pillows. Needless to say, I would not sleep in a bed covered in bugs! We went back to the office to let the clerk know that we had a problem, and the door was locked and she was nowhere to be found. I tried calling from the room phone and rigging the bell at the office door. It took almost 30 minutes for her to respond to the door bell. She did move us to another room, which did not have cable TV hooked up so she took the cable for the "buggy" room and put it in our new room. She appologized for the "buggy" room. The next morning we went to the office for the continental breakfast. There were some bagels and cereal available - no decaf coffee, and when I tried to make a cup of tea the pot with plain water in it was cold. There was a machine that had 2 kinds of juice but no fruit or protein offerings. So, no breakfast for us! We were in Reading to see family and attend a graduation, so we left the hotel and continued on with our plans. We found a nice diner on Rte. 61. Getting off to such a bad start with the EconoLodge made all the other annoyances more pronounced. The clattering fan of the air conditioner was disruptive to our sleep. The in-room refrigerator (nice to have) made an alarming noise each time the compressor shut off. The guest in the next room had a come-and-go pattern late into the night with multiple departures and arrivals, including loud conversations right outside our unit. The shower pressure was low, but the towels were soft. If asked, I could not recommend the EconoLodge Northeast in Reading PA to anyone. There are several other hotels in the area, and when we travel to the area again we will seek other lodging.

I was booked at another hotel and was sent to this hotel due to overbooking. The room wasn't what I was told it would be but it worked. The staff was very friendly and I must say the breakfast was FANTASTIC. I travel often for work and the breakfast buffet area was clean and the food was hot.

The front desk Sunday AM clerk was making a Cash deal with a man to "hook" him up. Minutes later the man arrives with a young lady in a strapless dress and can bearley stand up. Not the type of deal or activity a mother wants a 13 year old boy to see.

The live in help was playing cricket in the loby. The toilet was broken. THe towels were as thin as sheets. the hotel shares a parking lot with The Silo a music club. One night no parking spaces for hotel guests. THe Silo was busy. Not a pleasendt experience.

We were greeted with a smiling and very curtious clerk. Our room was very clean and everything was as expected. The continental breakfast was very substantial. An outstanding value.

The room was comfortable, I got a corner room so the stairs were great when the elevator decided to not respond quickly enough for my liking (~15/20seconds) since there was only 3 floors. There was vibrant long red strands of hair in the shower, which was no big deal because I have long auburn hair, so hey, some sneak by. The alarm in the room was set for 6:15am which I didn't know, so I should have checked it when I got in or maybe the staff might click the off button when they come through....either way check them; they sneak up on you. The room was organized well with the sink right next to the door and the bathoom and shower in their own room which is great for someone who wants to take a shower and a friend that wants to use the mirror for whatever. The continental breakfast needs to have more carbs; bagels and english muffins and tiny muffins aren't enough...Where's the beef?!?! and some waffles or something.....all in all it wasn't a mind-altering stay in a palace but a good stay for a good price.

We stayed at the hotel about 4 years ago.We enjoyed the pool and the cleanliness of the hotel. The location of the eating and shopping areas are very convenient. This stay was much different. The owners were very nice and fast.It got renavated with a new paint job. However,the rooms were unclean. I felt I couldn't take a shower. The toilet was stopped up so we couldn't flush the toilet.We will go back again! Sorry!

The front desk area was clean, the front desk clerk was friendly but this was her first check in job. The wallpaper was hanging off the wall in the stairwell and I hoped this was not a omen that my room would be dirty. I found the room to be extremely dusty. The bathroom was old and dirty. The soapdish was hanging off the wall in the shower. It had an overall dirty feeling to it. I called the front desk to complain but the phone was not answered. I tried to call later on but again there was no answer after many many rings. I ended up staying there but I would never stay there again nor would I reccomend anyone I know to stay there.

We stayed for one night to visit friends and family. We had no complaints and would stay again.

Fast check in and check out.Only complaint was the cleanliness of the room. I found a bug in the closet and someones acrylic nail under the lamp table.
