BEST WESTERN PLUS Charleston Downtown Hotel

The hotel is older and needs work, but was clean. The thin walls necessitated a call to the front desk to quiet noisy neighbors, response was immediate. Two maintenance problems were solved within minutes by the staff. The free trolley service to the historic area was terrific. The hotel staff was pleasant and very resposive. Hotel restaurant runs happy hour specials and has good food.

This Hotel is just what we needed for our one night visit to Charleston, SC. It was a last minute overnight stay for us and due to events in the Charleston area it was pretty hard to get somewhere to stay. This Hotel was convenient to downtown and offered the free trolley service. It was nice, clean, the staff was friendly and very accomadating. The full serve breakfast the following morning was a nice addition and very good. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and family and would definitely stay here again for an extended visit.

Free breakfast buffet, free parking, free internet use, and exercise room. I feel a real good deal for the price. Comfort and clean. We never heard any noise in our 5 night stay. Close to downtown, but too far to walk. I would stay here again.

We were very impressed with this hotel and the staff. We arrived early - around 12noon and check-in wasn't until 3pm. The only room available early was a pet-friendly room, so we said we'd wait. We went next door for lunch and 30 minutes later got a call that a non-pet-friendly room was ready for us! Got in that room and it didn't have a microwave which I needed for dietary reasons. (My original search with [...]said every room had microwaves - this wasn't the hotel's fault.) So the clerk said I could either use the employees' microwave or be upgraded from King room to double Queen room which was also at least twice the size at no extra charge since I had booked with [...]Staff greeted us with smiles coming and going. Superb breakfasts - fresh food constantly replenished and not the same every morning. Good southern gravy & biscuits, too!We didn't have the maids clean our room while we were there, but they would leave a bag of fresh towels/shampoos/coffees/etc when we didn't have a chance to catch them and tell them we didn't need any. Just hard working friendly employees there. Truly a pleasure.We were in Charleston for the Spoleto festival and this hotel was reasonable and not too far out of town for us. We visted the battery, waterfront park and Fort Sumter as well and loved it all. There is also a nice park across the street from the hotel with a covered dock you can go out on and a playground for the kids.

Spent weekend at Spoleto Festival. Hotel was very convenient to all festival activities conducted within the city of Charleston.

Had [...]confirmation for 2 rooms, each with king bed. Both rooms given contained 2 queen beds. Hotel first said it was [...] fault but when this was verified as incorrect, they blamed it on Best Western 800 number that [...]reserved with. Hard to understand how they felt no obligation of fault. I provided documentation of king bed booking but they simply stated they did not have any available nor would make any pricing adjustment. They stated I should be happier with the 2 beds as the room was larger that my confirmed room. In addition the rooms were not cleaned until after 6 PM one evening. Rest of hotel was fine but management did not seem the least concerned about my reservation details.

Hotel receptionist was polite and checked me in quickly. The room was clean and the bathroom had the appropriate toiletries. The hotel needs aesthetic updating, it is a little outdated. There is also construction going on close by so keep that in mind if you are a late sleeper.

hotel staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. the breakfast staff was awesome!!! the room was ok. it was clean but not the newest. we got bit up everynight by something and all had red bites all over our bodies in the morning.

The hotel personnel were very helpful in all ways.
