The Residence Inn has a great location downtown. Walking distance to most everything. Great breakfast. Our two grandsons swam in heated indoor pool. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Residence Inn in Chattanooga is just 2 blocks from the waterfront, near the Aquarium and numerous new restaurants. Also, it's right across the street from the free Electric shuttle which runs all the way to the Choo Choo. For 2 day stay, I had a room with sofa and kitchen area, all well maintained and clean. Staff was hospitable. Free hot breakfast available in lobby, as well as free light dinner (burgers, potato salad, soda/beer, etc.) in the evening. I would definitely stay here again when back in Chattanooga. Didn't have the opportunity to use the pool, but the area looked clean and well-kept.

we went to Chattanooga for the Southern Brewers Fest and had a great time. the hotel was really nice and staff, fantastic. However, our room was located next to the elevators and ice machine. The walls seemed really thin, so the noise factor was quite high, esp. for sleeping in after a late night of beer drinking! Also, $2 bottles of water from the vending machine gets old fast, so be prepared to lug your own jug. the trolly stop right outside is great, everyone is so nice, and don't miss the Pickle Barrel, a funky old pub only a block away!

I was just driving through Chattanooga from Atlanta and decided last minute to check in to a Hotel for the night and was glad I did. Everything except the price was great. I loved the friendly staff, complementary breakfast and amenities.
The only part i did not like was having to pay $140 for a decent place to spend the night but I dont regret it.

I see this as a great conventioneer's hotel. Our kids loved the pool, breakfast was pretty good, and the staff friendly. Wish that it was more accessible to public transportation. It was too far to walk to the riverfront and the shuttle pickup was on the far side of the convention center. It was good- solid. Not great.

Our room was very nice and the location is great, just a few blocks from the river front and Tennessee Aquarium. We were in town for the girl's state soccer tournament. There was also a high school and college rowing/crewing competition on the river front so the hotel was completely full. The staff was very nice and our stay was quite comfortable.

we had a wonderful time at the read hotel. The staff was very helpful. The room was very clean and the service couldn't have been better. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. We were next to the free bus route that took us down to the aquarium and Imax. We were able to walk around, get something to eat, and still be within all the places we wanted to visit. The only thing at the hotel was we wanted to sleep in but couldn't because the maids cleaning the other rooms kept slamming the room doors as they were cleaning them., otherwise every thing was great and will go again.

StoneFort Inn is full of charm, the staff are friendly and it is located in a great spot. I'd gladly stay there again, but there were three shortcomings. First, the TVs are tiny little things with a built-in VCR. Old fashioned is nice until it comes to technology. Second, the first night our mattress had a huge sag in the middle. The staff allowed us to switch to a room with a much better mattress, but that didn't make up for the previous night of bad sleep. Finally, breakfast was filling and tasted fine, but I know the bacon was the microwave for thirty-second kind, and I'm suspicious the quiche came from the same store.
Other things you might want to know is that "exclusive balcony" means it is attached to another one just like it, separated by railing and "private balcony" is one all by itself.
Oversized beds are king-sized, and all the beds I saw sat really high, which would be difficult for elderly guests to get in and out of.

First time in Chattanooga. The Stone Fort Inn was a wonderful change from the normal hotel experience. Fresh cookies laid out each day; large jacuzzi bath to relax after a day of hiking the local sites; top notch fresh (definitely NOT "continental" ) breakfast with wonderful personal attention by Clabon. The complete staff was very nice and helpful.

Only stayed one night, but found the room to be very clean and comfortable, and the staff was very helpful and cheerful. The complimentary breakfast had a lot of variety and the quality was pretty good. I've already booked another stay for a return trip in two weeks.

All of the staff were both friendly and helpful. I was pleasantly surprised with the room for the rate. I have often paid double for what we received here. Breakfast was very good with fresh waffles and many other choices. I'd definately stay again and recommend it to friends.

We brought our 3 year old granddaughter to visit the Aquarium and ride the train. She had a great time-- loved the indoor pool. Breakfast was hectic with an entire BB team eating but the staff was great.

we checked in about 4pm-the operations manager was very nice and helpful-he gave us a 10% off card for dinner downtown-the room was clean and good sized for us. It was comfortable and quiet-we had a nice buffet breakfast-the pancake maker was a BIG hit with my 12 year old son. We left at 9am to go downtown-I left my 3 laptops in the safe deposit box and was not given a key even though I questioned the clerk about this and sorta wondered about the safety of my items-later I found out I should have been given a key. We returned to the hotel about 13 hours later 11pm-picked up my laptops, came back to a clean room-no problems-had a 2nd buffet breakfast-it was good again-overall this was a great deal for a family weekend getaway-109.00 a night. We had to pay 3.00 for parking which was cheaper then a lot of other hotels I looked at-I would stay here again-it is less then a mile to downtown.

Staying on the Delta Queen

We were traveling through Chattanooga and decided the day before to stay and spend the evening. I had seen the Delta Queen for many years along the Ohio and Mississippi rivers and was intrigued to have a chance to stay there. All of our top room choices were already booked (Saturday night of 4th of July weekend), but we were able to get a room with 2 twins. We pushed them together and walked around downtown Chattanooga, which was very convenient with much nightlife and daytime activities in Chattanooga. Hotel service was very nice, although a little novice. Our stay was great and the experience worth having. I would do it again and will plan ahead next time.

For fall break two empty nesters hit the road and part of the adventure was staying at the Delta Queen hotel.
First off - if you are going to be upset that there is no TVs, you better find somewhere else. This is like stepping back in time. If you would like some of the "Back-story" here it is:

The linens were comfortable, the shower small but functional, the included breakfast was actually very good. The take out dinner (from North Side Grill which was within walking distance) we had on the deck was a special moment. In the morning we left our bags and car (Free valet parking) at the hotel and went to the acquarium and IMAX across the river. We grabbed some chocolates at Rembrandts in the art district and had tea on the back deck watching a sunset over the mountains. Sadly it all ended and we headed up home, but look forward to brining friends and family here in the future.
Once again if you want a large modern hotel room with TV, this is not the place...if you want a touch of history from a bygone era welcome aboard!

Book a train car, and do so away from the pizza cafe / restaurant car. The car rooms are funky and a unique experience. If you cannot get a car, I would not recommend staying in the building with the indoor pool--it is not ventilated properly and the rooms smell like chlorine.
ALL of the staff at this hotel were pleasant and very accommodating. The location is fantastic with live music venue(s) art galleries, cafes, and world-class restaurants within 2 blocks walking distance. I will stay here again.

I was there for 9 days. Maid service missed me two of those days even though I left a tip. I've stayed there several times over the past 10 years or so and they still have the same carpet and room furniture. An upgrade is in order. No longer affiliated with the Holiday Inn, I wonder if that is whey?

Well, we pulled in and left. We were even afraid to approach the facility. The parking lot is surrounded by a tall barred fence and there were two security guards at the door. Smoke engulfed us as we approached the desk to cancel our reservation. Very scary!

Country Hearth should be ashamed to have their name associated with this property. The motel actually boast cheapest rate. Was susprised a mini-frig and microwave now is classified as a suite. Lobby not staffed 24 hours.

This hotel was a great value for the location. We really liked that it was right in town and close to a free trolley stop.
Although they did not offer a free breakfast the diner attached to the hotel offered good food at a fair price. The selection was huge and they give hotel guests a 10% discount.
Having free wifi was a definite plus when it came to amenities and the staff were very nice and helpful.
I guess that the drawbacks are that it is a older hotel that was showing its wear. While everything was clean there was a small rip in the comforter and the entertainment center had a crack on one side of the wood. Additionally the bathroom seemed very outdated.
The room itself also seemed to be poorly sound proofed but it only got loud a couple of times while we were there.
Overall it was a good place to stay for a night but probably not somewhere that you would want to stay for a long time or on a romantic trip.

I got a good price on this hotel room, so I wasn't expecting pomp and circumstance when I opened the door. The room had a bed and that was all I was concerned with. I checked in late (10:30 PM) and I will say that the man at the front desk was a true Southern Gentleman. He was verry kind and friendly. I ended up shooting the breeze with him for about ten minutes! If you aren't looking for anything fancy, then this hotel should fit the bill!

Our family was in Chattanooga for Memorial Day Weekend. Hotel couldn't find reservation, however, was able to get a room. Hotel was okay, it was a basic room. Must say it was cleanier than expected. Staff was friendly and made sure that we were comfortable. They was sensitivity to our needs travelling with two young children. No Continental Breakfast was my only compliant, but location near downtown Chattanooga. Straight down Broad Street, we didn't get lost. We had a great weekend vacation.

This was a good location to see many of the local attractions: Ruby Falls, Rock City, Aquarium, IMAX, Boat Tours. Just off I-24. Right next to Cracker Barrel, and Wal-Mart only about 1/4 mile away.
The room had a separate living area, bedroom had a door, 2 tvs. There was a sofa and chair, but they were not comfortable. Also a small dining table and 2 chairs, a microwave and mini fridge.

Were in the area for a speech and debate tournament at a local college. Access to and from Cummings Highway is a little tight. Room was as advertised and typical for an "updated" Best Western Executive. Meaning there was a new faux marble counter top and some VERY fresh paint. There's a Wendy's across the way. Adequate for our needs. Breakfast starts at 7, so if you've got an early go, include that in your budgeting plans. The biscuits were a bit...firm.

VISITED AS TOURIST- LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, MISSIONARY RIDGE. THE FEW RESTAURANTS THAT WERE OPEN WERE NICE. LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN PARK IS NICE BUT THE TOURIST TRAPS ARE EXPENSIVE. $2.50 FOR A BOTTLE OF WATER. PARKING METERS THAT CHARGE .25 FOR 15 MINUTES. THE INCLINED RAILROAD WASN'T THAT GREAT.
I ASKED THE CLERK WHY I WAS BOOKED ON THE SECOND FLOOR (NO ELEVATOR HERE) & WAS TOLD ALL ROOMS WITH QUEEN BEDS WERE ON THE SECOND FLOOR. HUH? THE MOTEL HAS A GOOD LOCATION. THE CLERKS WERE NOT PARTICULARLY FRIENDLY.
EASY TO GET TO DOWNTOWN CHATTANOOGA & THE TOURIST STUFF.

This is the second time we've stayed at this hotel. The staff is very nice and the rooms are clean...which to us, are the main things. We also prefer this location over staying downtown. Not all hotels listed as downtown are really walking distance to the aquarium if that's where you're going. We learned from our first trip that it's easier to just drive and pay for parking closer to the aquarium rather than pay for parking at the hotel and also at the aquarium.

we booked a standard room for 3 persons for 4 days. they somehow forgot the 3rd person because the room was set-up for 2. hotel was fully-booked because of the tornado a week before. they were able to find an extra bed.
for the first 2 days, we had to ask for an extra towel for the 3rd person which was promptly given.
breakfast was excellent. scrambled egg, boiled egg, sausage,biscuit and gravy, oatmeal, pancake, bagel, donut, english muffin, cinnamon rolls, banana, yogurt, milk, apple juice, orange juice, tea, coffee..
there is a cookie and coffee available all day although i haven't tried the cookie because it's always gone by the time i come back to the hotel.
hotel staff are very nice.

Clean, quiet, good A/C, no shampoo, odd odor in the room but not overwhelming, sheets were clean but had small holes.
Continental Bfst was watered down juice and prepackaged stale honey bun with coffee.
Advertisement describes wonderful view of Lookout Mountain... but this only can be seen from the second story if you overlook the other hotel's rooftop!!

I stayed at this hotel prior to participating in a century (100 mile) bicycle ride, so my main concerns where hotel location, price and getting a good night's sleep. I liked the fact the room had a fridge and microwave. Continental breakfast was basic, but fine.

I WOULD SAY THIS IS AN OVERNIGHT STAY PLACE. NOT SOMEWHERE YOU WOULD GO AND STAY 2-3 NIGHTS. IT SEEMED LIKE THE HOTEL STAFF WAS WATCHING FOR YOUR COMINGS AND GOINGS, MAYBE TO SEE IF THEY COULD GO IN AND CHECK WHAT YOU MIGHT HAVE IN YOUR ROOM. I am a smoker so the smell of a smoking hotel did not bother me. The king bed was a little firm for me. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and quiet. It was very convenient to Lookout Mt and Downtown. If you do not have a lot of money for a hotel while doing the the tourist thing in Chattanooga, I would recommend staying here.

Mostly clean (forgot to empty the ashtray) Showers dont have alot of pressure,hallways didn't have air conditioning. Everything worked and any problems were happily taken care of. The location to attractions and downtown is within 10 minutes for most. We didn't have the continental breakfast because McD's is right next door. Good place to stay if you are on a budget.
