This hotel is really clean and updated. Very comfortable room and bed. The staff was excellent. I did have some trouble finding it because the address caused my navigation system to take me where it wasn't. But the staff saved me from driving in circles. The breakfast is nice with lots of choices. I'd stay here again.

The room was nice,clean, and spacious. Although our daughter is too young to enjoy its amenities there were many other families enjoying he indoor pool, hottub, pool (billards), and ping pong. We received complimenttary drinks in the evening and full hot breakfast made just the way you order it in the mornings. The [...]price was about $60 cheaper than the normal rate. The only thing I didn't like was that the bathroom was a little small. Great location on the southside of Abilene across the street from the mall.

Non-smoking room reeked. Old, run down, small, bed sagged. Bedding may have been clean, but was yellow with age and had holes. No hair dryer avail. Really small bath towels. Do not recommend unless you are desperate.

We stayed at the Royal Inn in Abilene for two nights, two nights too many. The only positive experience was that the young lady at the check in counter was very pleasant and helpful allowing us to enter our room one hour early. From there it when down hill all the way. The queen size bed that we requested ended up being a double bed with two small unforgettable flat pillows. The air conditioner was loud and within one foot from the bed. The room needed a good cleaning. The bathroom did not have an exhaust fan and the shower walls were dirty. We had two shower towels and one hand and face towel for two people. The showerhead was caked in grim. The location of the room #155 at night had a lot of exterior noise, trucks, trains, and people talking all night. Our first night we did not get any sleep. The second night we purchased two additional pillows, but the loud noise outside and the poor mattress gave us little sleep. It actually caved in the middle and had no firmness to it. The restaurant lounge that they advertise was not open. This was the worse Inn that we stayed at. [...]

But, I ordered a King room and they ran out when I got there, so they put me in a queen with a pull out couch...
It wasn't a big deal to me, but it still bothered me that a room reservation for a particular room was not given.

Room was extremely clean and the decor of the hotel was very nice. Staff was friendly. Only drawbacks were that the indoor hot tub was not working and when the shower/bath water was beiing run, it was very loud--in our room as well as from neighboring rooms.

I was in town to visit my family who had also come to town for the Western Heritage Rodeo and Expo. I had a chance to stay in their camper or get a hotel so my niece and nephew could swim some. I got the hotel. When I got there, we were told first that the pool might open the next day after an inspection, and then that all pools in the city were closed until Memorial Day. I was really upset and expressed my disappointment to the manager. [...]The room was nice and clean. But my family was there from Arizona with their jewelry line for the show. I was so excited to see them and the children. I made the choice to get the hotel with a pool so the kids would have something to do during the day. The weather was perfect for swimming. Had the hotel notified guests on their information page about the pool, I could have saved $200 and stayed with my family in their camper. [...] I really feel like La Quinta should have posted something about the pool being closed.

We were visiting my son and his family. The hotel was close to their home. We never made the breakfast bar (6-9) which hadn't been posted any place until I suggested it. I was pleased to see how quickly they took my suggestion. The place was fine. I'm sure the staff will get it all together as time passes. It's a new place. We enjoyed the room, the comfortable bed, the TV stations and the good lighting for reading. I liked the Internet service - easy to use. I would return.

I'm a guy who doesn't ask a lot from a cheap hotel, but this place is in really bad shape. The front lobby looks nice and the exterior isn't bad. However, once you get inside, it's pretty terrible. Stains on the floor, walls, and ceiling. Very old, beat up carpet. The couch in my room had large stains and holes. The controls for the heater were badly messed up, and the remote control for the TV didn't work. Furthermore, the shower couldn't decide whether it wanted to freeze me or scald me. I only paid $55 for the night, but if I had to stay a second night, in Abilene, I would have gone somewhere else.
On the plus side, the motel was quiet and in a safe location.

Upon arrival, the exterior looked dated and slightly run-down. The lobby smelled like stale smoke. On first glance, our room seemed decent, but was very hot when we arrived. The first issue was that the camode had no water in the tank. Maintenance responded quickly and resolved the issue, but there was a constant dripping sound the rest of our stay. The swimming pool was empty. It was quite warm that day (over 90 degrees). A cool swim would have been nice. The coffee pot did not work properly. Water poured into the basket, but did not drain out of filter into the glass pot. It made a big mess. Cost was affordable, but not worth the aggravation for petty inconveniences. Will not stay there again.

The staff was helpful and friendly. The location is a $20 cab fare from the airport, so it was an additional $40 expense to stay there. The hotel description should clearly state that there is not an airport shuttle. The Courtyard is the same price as the Fairfield Inn and it offers a ton more in amenities, restaurants, real glasses, etc. At the same price and location, the Courtyard is a much better value.

Chose this hotel because of indoor heated pool so kids could decompress after trip from Ruidoso, NM. Pool was good, hot tub was very dirty. Had 5 people travelling and was disappointed that there was not enough floor space in room to put a queen size air mattress so had to cram 2 kids/1 adult into a queen bed. Fairly clean, great to have microwave and huge dorm fridge in room. Great proximity to various restaurants and RIGHT off freeway so convenient to find and depart. Adequate continental breakfast. Overall, would stay there again. Front desk help very friendly, gave pool towels with a smile.

The staff were about average. Not rude, but not bright and bubbly either. The room was clean and simple. No fridge, microwave, or shampoo. But that's about what we paid for, I suppose. The room did smell a little off. That's my biggest complaint, so I would say it wasn't bad stay. XP

The motel was clean. The continental breakfast was a joke. They really could improve on that. The staff could be friendlier. But overall cleanliness of the room is what matters most to me and my family. For the price it worked.

Hotel was very close to the Interstate and close distance from shopping; we went to Abilene to participate in a wedding and everything was o.k. with the hotel except a bad smell that seemed to be coming from a dirty carpet.

This hotel looked terrible from the outside. The restaurant was temporarily closed which was quite disturbing. Was it closed for renovations or for health reasons? When I checked into the room (211), it was clean. However, there were no hangers,or kleenex in the room. Also, there was not a coffee maker, an iron or, or an ironing board, or a hair dryer provided. Also, I asked one of the staff if there was a laundry facility nearby, and she said she did not know but would be glad to get a phone book for me. I found out the next morning that there is a laundry facility on the premises. I understand the motel is going through some level of renovations, but I would not recommend this motel at this time.

The Quality Inn in Abilene was a great choice for our family while visiting Abilene. The had updated their rooms recently and also had a hot breakfast which we weren't expecting. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would stay there again.

The only complaint I had about this hotel was that the first room they put us in was a smoking room, and reeked! They promptly relocated us to a non-smoking room. The move could had been avoided had the smoking/non-smoking option been online when I registered.

The motel was acceptably comfortable, however the room was in need of repair/remodel. It would really only require a moderate investment to bring this room up to a "very good" rating level. It will likely never be 5 Star, but could be 3.5 with simple repairs.

We were in Abilene for a wedding and it happened to be the same weekend as graduations in the area so finding any hotel was a chore. Super 8 was one of the only hotels with any rooms available and I was a little worried about having booked a room there as they are typically all about value and little about the rooms. The room was rather large and had a nice seating area even with the King size bed. The bathroom was large as well. We only had a shower in our room and you could see they had obviously recently done repairs. It was a little dirty although the rest of the room was kept pretty clean. Our TV turned on by itself several times on the morning of checkout. The room only came with 2 pillows so if you want more you will have to ask but they are good about responding to your request quickly. They do offer a breakfast in the morning. We got up late on the morning of checkout and did not get to take full advantage of the items offered, but I do know they offer fruit. The is a microwave and a small fridge in the room. Overall I was pleased with the room for the price. It was comparable to nicer hotels.

This place fit the bill for a clean, comfortable crash pad every evening. The single King-size bed left plenty of open space for stretching out in the armchair or using the desk (good task lighting and office chair were nice touches). The location is convenient to highways, shopping, and lots of restaurants, but far enough away to be quiet. Our little oasis in Abilene!

We came to town for ACU's homecoming, so we really only slept at the hotel, as we had lots of activities during our time there. The bed was very comfortable, the shower was nice, and the breakfast was really good for a hotel breakfast. It was a super quick drive to campus, too. Overall, a really good stay. Only downsides: the walls are kind of thin, so we heard quite a bit of hallway noise, and there is only one elevator, so getting up and down wasn't always speedy. We would definitely stay there again though.

We went there for a family reunion. We had everything that we needed. The reunion was at another location. Having breakfast made it a lot easier for us. The room was very comfortable and nice to come home to. I have stayed in other hotels that were nicer, but this hotel was very nice. The bed was very comfortable. The AC was cool and made it nice on such hot days. We will consider this hotel again when we go for another trip that requires a place to sleep.
