Great family vacation
A nice clean hotel with a friendly staff. I did notice an unpleasant constant odor on the 3rd floor. Perhaps a deodorizer would help that

Grad student on a budget
An acceptable place to stay on a budget
The staff was friendly and helpful; I want to be sure I put that out there first and foremost. The room was clean, though not in great shape (carpet a bit stained and coming loose from the wall, etc.). That said, I was not impressed by this hotel, particularly with regard to security. The peephole on the door was broken. The "chain"-type lock on the door didn't work well. As a woman traveling alone I was not impressed by the fact that several times I found external doors with placards that announced they were locked 24/7 propped open by rocks (I'd guess this is common based on the fact I was there for 4 days and came across propped doors 5-6 times). I'd be less concerned about the doors being propped if it wasn't for the fact that several times I was cat-called, and in one case followed by men in the parking lot adjacent to the hotel. (This may be related to the presence of a strip club in the same plaza).

okay hotel...bad neighborhood
This hotel was clean and comfy, but the area it is located in is scary and filthy. It is located within 100 ft. of a club where lets say people dance for money, and the not so desirable clientelle attend. There seems to be many urban pharmacists hanging out on the street corners and urban campers everywhere. I would not return to this hotel. But the hotel itself was fine.

This hotel is not right off the freeway like you would expect based on the address. It is a bit hard to find, so call the hotel and get clear directions before you go... to save time looking for it.

Great Value. Nice HDTV
Was clean, comfortable. AC was on when we 1st entered the room (which was very nice being in uber humid Houston). HDTV had many HD channels & would swivel 180 degrees. Decent bathroom. Typical La Quinta free breakfast.

Perfect for the cost and close enough to downtown.
Was very difficult to find because of not being able to enter the address into the GPS. Staff was very helpful when asking for directions. Our son loved the waffles, which made for very happy mornings.

A Good Stay
The staff was very friendly and the room was fine. The fan rattled in the bathroom and the staff promised to replace it. The breakfast was minimal--cereal, waffles, muffins, juice and coffee. It was a nice stay for the price. I would recommend it to a friend as such. Houston Happy
