Perfect location if you are visiting James Madison University or Harrisonburg. A little secret would be you are just a few blocks away from walking trails that connect to the beautiful arboretum at JMU. Overall very clean, but the beds were very lumpy and bumpy,so no guarantee you'll get a good night's sleep. Bathrooms were older and the towels could be softer - but again, kept neat and clean.No exercise facilities, but there is an indoor pool. Breakfast was okay, nothing special - but area was kept neat and clean.

I've stayed at this hotel numerous times in the past so I knew not to expect a "luxury" hotel. But for the price it was sufficient for my needs. I booked a business class room, but there was no snack or drink provided as per the info at booking. Breakfast is so-so, but better than nothing. Bottom line: nothing fancy, but sufficient!

Very bad. Bugs in bed. Didn't realize until morning when there was blood on the sheets. Called the attendant and he saw them and agreed. Gave me the number of the owner who was out of town. Wouldn't give me money back. Only owner could approve. Will call owner after my trip and report to health department

This is a nice, quaint hotel. Not very big, only 3 floors. I was in Harrisonburg for Zumba instructor training at JMU. I was impressed by the room! It was perfect for a single traveler; my room may not have been as appropriate for a family. There was one large bed, an L-desk, two night stands, an anwoire with television, AND a big, comfy recliner. The room was very clean and the bed had really nice pillows. Great room for a single traveler. The only downside is that the rooms are connected by a door, so I could hear the people in the room next to me while I was trying to sleep.
I had card access to the workout room which was nice, although it was in a separate building and I choose to work out later in the evening. The breakfast served was nice. Didn't try it, but they did have two waffle makers, some pastries that probably came from Costco, cereals, juice, coffee, fruit milk, and other items.
If I had a reason to travel to Harrisonburg, I would most certainly stay here again.

Check in was fine, went to room and opened the door to be SMACKED in the face with discusting,reaking, cigarette odor. Requested NO Smoking, and called ahead to make sure this would be the case upon arrival. Went to speak to the manager and was told by him there was no way to change the room. Being Family Weekend at JMU, the whole town was filled up. Was a horrible weekend in smoke filled room. I would NEVER stay here again. My friend stayed there the weekend before with the same results. Wish I had talked to her before I went. ALSO, not enough parking for the motel guests staying there!

Our experience was not good, motel overpriced, room not clean- sheets had stains and a small hole, so did bath mat. The heating and cooling unit was very noisy at night. The shower rarely heated beyond lukewarm. the maids never gave us fresh towels the second night. Coffee at breakfast was weak and tasteless.
It was overall a poor experience

My friend and I spent a night here in preparation for a ski trip the next day. There were nice restaurants such as Bob Evans, Outback, and Wood Grill all around and Massanutten was only a 15 mile drive down the road. Loved the views from here as well!

The hotel room was lovely, My sister, Daughter and I truly had a comfortable room. We even got a chance to enjoy the pool even though it's small it was warm and inviting. We were very disappointed about the non-work exercise room at the time, but it look like it would have been great. We did go to the waterpark at Massenuetten and to the caverns which was lovely. I really would have like to find a store near by that sold a Harrisonburg Va cup, because I collect cup on all my trip. All in all we have a great hotel and trip. We'll definitely come back. Thank you...

I stayed at the hotel with another coach as we participated in a state tournament at JMU. The hotel was right off of one of the main drags with many restaurants and shops. This helped for the downtime we had after our competition. The beds were super comfortable and helped me get rested for the two days of competition. The TV was an older model, so it did not have the best picture and the continental breakfast was simple with no frills. We had some problems with our keys, but the front desk staff was quick and happy to help. A good place to stay for weekend trip to JMU.

Excellent customer service. Continental breakfast was a hit - expecially the waffle maker. Hotel was quiet, very clean and we slept like rocks. It was a convenient distance from Shenandoah National Park, Luray Caverns, JMU, and lots of other scenic charms. The staff had lots of information and suggestions about local (and not so local) attractions. We plan to go again soon!

Stayed at this hotel numerous times while visiting daughter at college. It's clean, neat, somewhat old, but has a great (albeit crowded!!) breakfast bar, good coffee, and a nice pool. Close to other eating places and shopping along with JMU.

My stay at the Ramada Harrisonburg was fairly decent. I spent a minimal amount of time checking in as my keys were waiting for me and all was ready to go. The location was perfect just off of the Interstate 81 exit. It has an older look from the outside of the rooms, but the room was updated as far as furniture and electronics. The bed was not very comfortable and was squeaky. The shower had excellent water pressure and provided an invigorating shower. Free Wi-Fi was also nice as well as the cable. It was graduation weekend at JMU so the price was a steal. It did have a smell like it was an older location unlike newer places.

The overall stay was good. Staying on the first floor by the lobby I was wondering how noisy it would be but to be honest we heard not a thing. The employees were great except for one that gave me very mean looks and was quite rude.

First of all, the gentleman working the front desk was very kind and polite. Unfortunately, we had booked a room with 2 queen beds and when we got up to the room, they were 2 double beds. [...]booked the room for us and we took it based on looking for queen size beds. The Super 8 didn't have any to offer. That and they were in the middle of construction - pounding hammers, paint smells and glue smell from new carpet made this a poor choice for us. When we asked for a refund, we were put through a lot of phone calls without any resolution as of yet. Very disappointed with the hotel and [...]. Will never use them again.

Just needed a place to sleep for one night - for what we paid, I expected a very low quality room. It was actually very updated, good tv, fridge, coffee pot and clean! Recommend bringing your own pillow though!

this is the third time we have used this spot when traveling from GA. to PA. the rooms are clean and up to date. Free breakfast has always been good. Wide flat screen TV and very friendly staff. We will use them again

This was our first experience with Country Inn & Suites. The hotel is a hop,skip and jump from I-81. The room was clean and comfortable. The pool was clean and there were plenty of towels. The hot tub wasn't warm enough but we used it anyways. The breakfast was okay. Nothing special. It would have been nice to have two waffle makers as we never could get anywhere near it. Staff was efficient but not much into chatting. We paid in full online and got an excellent nightly rate. We will be staying in a Country Inn & Suites again!

This hotel is very clean. However, the pool was without water, definitely a draw back when you have an eight year old who packed her own bathing suit. The continental breakfast left a lot to be desired, but the good news was that Cracker Barrel is right next door.

Went to Harrisonburg for a weekend trip. Our room was nice and clean and we had all that we needed. Although we didn't eat breakfast at the hotel (it's within walking distance of Cracker Barrel) everything looked good. The only thing I could say that would need improvement is locating the place for the first time. The big lit up sign isn't installed yet and it made it a little tricky to find because we arrived after dark.

Upon arrival at the Valley Suites I found that even with a confirmation number there was no room waiting for me. They left a message that there was a problem but I was on the road when they left the message at my home offering a discount on a future visit.
They had taken no initiative to find me alternate accommodation.
I suggested that they check with The Village Inn. There was space but the weekly rate was not available for two days and I would have to pay the nightly rate for the two days.
I indicated that Valley Suites should pay the difference for the first two nights.
The manager had no authority to make any decisions and had to call the owner to do anything. Finally I was told that they would pay the difference. Two days later a received a check for $20 which was much less that the $75 difference plus the cost of meals I had to pay for due to not having access to a kitchenette.
I would not recommend that anybody stays at the Valley Suites as a reservation with a confirmation number means nothing and they are neither honest nor have any integrity.

The proprietor was very helpful and friendly. We also had a great room rate considering it was family weekend at JMU - more than half off what others were paying at other hotels. She attributed it to the fact I found the room on the web. The room was clean except some of the sheets that were brought to us to make up the sofa bed had some hairs. The walls are paper thin so I heard the cackling of a woman next door while I was trying to fall asleep. So if you are a light sleeper this might not work for you. I never heard any street traffic.

This is a clean, no frills, quiet place to stay for a night on the road. There is no clock radio. Coffee in the lobby is it. Can park right in front of your room.
We felt safe and that we got our money's worth.
